Park-first lodging area guide
Where to Stay Near Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal City is the strongest first choice when the park owns the trip. Shift to Studio City for neighborhood flexibility, Burbank for a BUR or studio itinerary, or Hollywood when sightseeing and nightlife matter as much as the park day.

Which area fits your Universal Hollywood trip?
Choose Universal City for the fewest park-access steps. Choose another area only when neighborhood life, Hollywood sightseeing, or Burbank airport and studio access adds more value than a simpler park morning.
The order runs from least park-access friction outward. It is not a hotel ranking, and no live rate or review score determines the sequence.

Arrival-day logic
How the hotel area changes the park day
The distance on a booking screen is only the first layer. The transfer count and return plan usually matter more.
Protect the shortest park routine
Verify the selected property's current walk or hotel shuttle, then keep CityWalk, parking, and room-access terms separate. This area earns its premium only when the lower-friction park day will be used.
Map the hotel to the station
A Studio City label alone does not prove a simple Metro trip. Check the hotel-to-station route, current B Line service, bridge path, and signed hill-shuttle instructions as one chain.
Verify the exact shuttle promise
Some Burbank properties list a park shuttle, some an airport shuttle, and some scheduled or advance-reservation service. The selected hotel controls, so a broad Burbank shuttle promise is not safe.
Budget for a two-part park arrival
Hollywood can put evening attractions close at hand, but the park morning still includes the B Line plus the bridge and signed shuttle or a separate road transfer.
