What matters first
Use this page as the practical filter before you open booking pages, maps, or official policy documents.
The defining rule
Magic Kingdom parking is at the Transportation and Ticket Center, not at the park entrance. Plan a ferryboat or monorail transfer after parking.
The current price
Disney currently lists standard theme park parking at $35, preferred parking at $50, $55, or $60, and oversized parking at $40.
Save two records
Keep the parking receipt for same-day park hopping and save the row in Car Locator plus a phone photo before heading to the ferry or monorail.

The useful parking decision
Preferred parking does not remove the lagoon transfer
Preferred parking can shorten the lot approach to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Every driver still needs the next leg to the Magic Kingdom entrance by ferryboat, monorail, or another operating route directed by Disney.
Standard parking is the practical default unless the shorter TTC approach materially helps the group. Build the transfer into the arrival window either way.
Park at the Transportation and Ticket Center
Magic Kingdom's automobile parking is at the Transportation and Ticket Center. The parking lot is not beside the park entrance, so the arrival plan needs a second leg across Seven Seas Lagoon after the vehicle is parked.
Start with the current official fee
Disney currently lists standard theme park parking at $35 for a car or motorcycle, preferred parking at $50, $55, or $60 depending on the date, and oversized parking at $40. Recheck before the trip because rates can change.
Check included standard parking
Registered Disney Resort hotel guests and select Annual Passholders receive standard theme park parking when eligible. Confirm the exact stay, pass, admission, and date conditions before depending on the benefit.
Treat preferred as a TTC walking upgrade
Preferred parking provides a closer lot placement at the Transportation and Ticket Center. It does not create a separate security line, reserved park entry time, or direct parking beside Magic Kingdom.
Choose ferryboat or monorail at the TTC
Follow current signs and Cast Member directions to the operating ferryboat or monorail route. Weather, maintenance, crowd flow, or an operational change can make one option more practical at the moment of arrival.
Build the transfer into the morning
The drive is not finished when the vehicle reaches a row. Add time to walk or use the tram, reach the Transportation and Ticket Center, pass the current screening process, and cross to Magic Kingdom.
Save the row before the transfer
Disney's complimentary Car Locator supports the four Walt Disney World theme parks. Save the row with the app or a phone photo before leaving the vehicle because the return trip ends at the TTC, not the park gate.
Keep the receipt for a same-day park hop
One theme park parking payment covers all four Walt Disney World theme parks for the same day. Keep the receipt and show it at another Auto Plaza, while remembering that payment does not guarantee a space after leaving.
Use designated disability parking
Bring a valid disability parking permit and ask the Auto Plaza Cast Member for the current designated area and route. Preferred parking is not a substitute for disability parking or mobility support.
Park day gear worth packing
A compact set of comfort picks for long lines, heat, rain, refills, and high step counts.
Compare driving with Disney transportation
Many registered resort guests can use Disney transportation to Magic Kingdom and avoid the TTC parking sequence. Driving can still fit an off-site stay, a later Orlando plan, or a direct departure, so compare the entire day.
Planning traps
Mistakes to avoid
These are the small decisions that quietly derail an otherwise good plan.
Drivers park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and still need the lagoon transfer.
Verify the exact resort stay or Annual Pass benefit first.
Preferred shortens part of the TTC lot approach but does not remove the transfer.
Use Car Locator and a phone photo before heading to transportation.
Keep it if another Walt Disney World theme park may be visited the same day.
