Six Flags Darien Lake daily hours listEvery date in our data, 2 days through October 11, 2026
October 2026
Schedule data through October 11, 2026. Source data pull dates range from September 6, 2026 through October 4, 2026. Dates missing from our data are marked unavailable. This does not establish whether the park has published them.
Collection dates describe the rows available to this page. They are not a current operator check for every visit date. An unavailable date does not establish a closure or whether the park has published a schedule.

How to read these hours
A few signals tell you everything important about each date at Six Flags Darien Lake at a glance.
Why there is no early entry at Six Flags Darien Lake
Six Flags Darien Lake does not publish an early entry or preview hour. There is no morning window for passholders, no hotel hour, and nothing on the season pass pages resembling the early ride programs some other parks run. If you went looking for a Darien Lake early entry policy and found nothing, that is because nothing is offered. Every guest clears security and the turnstiles at the same posted time, which for almost every 2026 date is 11:00 AM.
What the passes carry instead changes the shape of the day rather than its start. The 2027 Gold Pass, listed at $69 in the late summer 2026 sale against a $99 regular price, includes free general parking and covers the rest of 2026. The Prestige Pass, $149 against $225, adds preferred parking where spaces remain and one Single Use Fast Lane per visit. That single skip is the closest thing to a head start the park sells, and it is better spent on Ride of Steel at midday.
Does the Lodge or the campground change your access
Darien Lake is unusual among Six Flags properties for having both a hotel and a campground on site. The Darien Lake Lodge opened in 1998 with 161 rooms, and the campground offers campsites, about half set up with park owned RVs and cabins. Neither publishes an early entry benefit and neither shortens the security line. What staying on site buys is the drive: you are already past the run from Buffalo or Rochester and can reach the gate half an hour early.
Fast Lane at Darien Lake: nine rides and a daily cap
Darien Lake sells one paid line skip product, Fast Lane, and it is a wristband rather than a virtual queue. There is no return time to book and no app screen to watch: show the band at the Fast Lane entrance of a participating ride and take the shorter line. Two details catch visitors out. Fast Lane here is sold inside the gates rather than online in advance, and the number released each day is capped, so a busy Saturday can sell out before the afternoon.
The wristband covers nine attractions: Ride of Steel and Tantrum, the two that actually build a queue, plus Predator, Viper, Boomerang, Mind Eraser, Motocoaster, SkyScreamer, and Shipwreck Falls. An All Season Fast Lane was listed at $699 against a $1,200 regular price during the 2026 sale, which only makes sense for someone visiting repeatedly. Prestige passholders receive one Single Use Fast Lane per visit at no extra cost, a single skip rather than an all day band.
When the wristband earns its price
Darien Lake is a mid sized park with a modest coaster count, and on most weekdays the waits do not justify a paid skip. A Tuesday in June with a 7:00 PM close often runs short lines on everything except Ride of Steel. The dates that change the math are July and August Saturdays, the Oktoberfest weekends that start August 8, and the five Fright Fest nights, when a full day of demand compresses into a shorter evening.

The laser show at the Performing Arts Center and the 9:00 PM close
Darien Lake stages its night show in a building most parks do not have. The Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, the amphitheater that once hosted touring concerts on the property, now houses the Laser Light Night Time Spectacular, a laser production whose lineage at the park reaches back to 1992. It is included with admission and it is scheduled on nights the park stays open until 9:00 PM, which covers most dates from late June through August. Nights that close at 7:00 PM generally do not carry it.
Two seasonal layers change the evening further. Star Spangled Nights falls on July 4. Fright Fest then takes five dates: September 19 and 26, then October 3, 10, and 11. It is a night event built on two mazes, Carnival of the Dead and Escape to Bloodstone Hollow, three scare zones including Willow Creek Cemetery and Boneyard Boulevard, and a Halloween version of the laser show billed as Laser SPOOKtacular. The mazes need a Haunted Attractions Pass, listed from $45 for the all season version.
Closing time means the queues close, not the parking lot. If you are in the Ride of Steel line when the clock reaches the posted time, you ride. The walk out is short by large park standards, but New York State Route 77 is a two lane road, and on a Fright Fest Saturday or a July night after the laser show the exit onto it takes 20 to 30 minutes to clear.
Why the Darien Lake season runs from May 15 to October 11
Darien Lake keeps one of the shorter seasons in the Six Flags portfolio, and the 2026 calendar makes the reason plain: a Western New York park with a real winter and a school year that ends late. Opening day was Friday, May 15, a short 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM day. Spring runs Friday through Monday. Daily operation began June 24 and held through Labor Day, September 7. The last posted date is October 11, after which the park closes until spring with no winter event.
The closed days follow school calendars rather than weather. Through May and most of June the park is dark Tuesday through Thursday, which is why a mid June Wednesday shows nothing while the following Wednesday in July is a full day. September reverses it: open daily through Labor Day, then closed every weekday after. Day by day hours are typically posted well before opening weekend, with the fall event dates confirmed by late summer. Today's hours appear in the card near the top of this page.
What an early close signals
The posted close is the demand signal at this park, because the open is 11:00 AM almost every day. A 9:00 PM close is the full schedule with the laser show attached. A 7:00 PM close, standard on Mondays and Tuesdays through July and August, means the park expects a lighter day, and those are the best summer dates for short lines. A 6:00 PM close belongs to fall weekends, and the 5:00 PM close used on opening day is the shortest schedule the park runs.
Rope drop at Darien Lake: Ride of Steel before anything else
Ride of Steel is the reason the park has a morning rush. The Intamin hypercoaster opened in 1999 as Superman Ride of Steel, lost the branding in 2007, and still stands 208 feet tall and runs 73 mph across 5,400 feet of track. It holds the longest wait of the day on every busy date. Walking straight to it at the open, riding, and riding again before the queue fills is the most useful thing a first hour can do.
The common mistake is starting at the water park. Hurricane Harbor is included with admission, it sits close to the entrance, and on a hot morning the pull is strong. Go there at 11:00 AM and you hand the coaster queues the exact hour they are shortest. Dry rides first and water in the afternoon is the better order. The second mistake is treating a Fright Fest night like a normal day: on those five dates the mazes, not the coasters, tend to hold the longest lines.
The order that works after Ride of Steel
Ride of Steel and Tantrum sit far enough apart that order matters. Take the hypercoaster first, then Tantrum, the compact Gerstlauer coaster added in 2018 with short trains and a steep drop. Predator, the 1990 wooden coaster, and Viper, the 1982 looper, hold their capacity better and can wait. Mind Eraser, which sat out 2024 for renovation and returned in 2025, is a single lap ride for most visitors.

Getting to Darien Center from Buffalo, Rochester, and the Thruway
The address is 9993 Alleghany Road, Corfu, New York, for a site that sits north of the hamlet of Darien Center on the east side of New York State Route 77. Almost everyone arrives the same way: the New York State Thruway, Interstate 90, to exit 48A at Pembroke, then south on Route 77. That road stays two lanes through farmland the whole distance, so the final few miles do not move quickly when the park is filling or emptying.
From Buffalo the drive is roughly 27 miles and about 40 minutes without traffic. From Rochester it is about 47 miles and close to an hour. Buffalo Niagara International Airport is the practical arrival point for a flying visit, with Greater Rochester International working from the east. There is no direct public transport to the gate from either city: intercity buses reach Batavia, and the last leg has to be a taxi or a rideshare, which makes a car the realistic option.
General parking starts at $30 per vehicle and preferred parking at $50, before taxes, and buying either online ahead of the visit shortens the stop at the toll plaza. Gold passes include general parking and Prestige passes include preferred parking where space remains, so most repeat visitors pay nothing at the booth. There is no off site parking alternative here and no walk up approach.
Darien Lake hours month by month in 2026
May is a long weekend park. The season opened Friday, May 15 with a short 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM day, and the pattern that followed was Friday through Monday operation: Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Mondays trimmed to 5:00 PM or 7:00 PM, and Tuesday through Thursday closed. Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, ran 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Early June continued in the same shape, with a Thursday added on June 4 and the middle of the week still dark through June 23.
Daily operation began June 24 and ran without a closed date through Labor Day. July is the fullest month on the calendar: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on every date except Mondays and Tuesdays, which close at 7:00 PM. Independence Day weekend, July 3 to 5, held the 9:00 PM close with Star Spangled Nights on July 4. August repeated July almost exactly, with the same Monday and Tuesday trim plus earlier closes on Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27.
September splits in two. The park stayed open daily through Labor Day on September 7, at 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM midweek and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM over the holiday weekend. From September 8 it is Saturdays and Sundays only at 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Kids Boo Fest filling those afternoons from September 19 with a trick or treat trail, a hay maze, and a costume parade. On the five Fright Fest dates the posted close typically runs later. October 11 ends the season.
Hurricane Harbor and the water park day
Hurricane Harbor is included with Darien Lake admission and keeps a shorter, later starting season than the rides. It opens once the weather is reliable rather than on opening weekend, and it closes for the year before the fall weekend dates arrive. On most summer days the slides stop earlier in the evening than the coasters do, so a plan that saves the water park for the last hour usually fails. Check the posted water park times on arrival, since they are set separately from the park close.
Frequently asked questions
What time does Six Flags Darien Lake open?
Six Flags Darien Lake opens at 11:00 AM on essentially every operating date of the 2026 season, from opening weekend in May through the final fall weekend on October 11. There is no published early entry program, so passholders and day ticket holders pass the turnstiles at the same moment. Fright Fest nights use the same 11:00 AM open.
What time does Six Flags Darien Lake close?
Closing time is where the Darien Lake calendar varies. Most summer dates close at 9:00 PM, with the laser show near the end of the night. Mondays and Tuesdays in July and August close at 7:00 PM. Spring weekdays can close as early as 5:00 PM, and fall weekends at 6:00 PM. Guests already in line at the posted time still ride.
What are Six Flags Darien Lake's hours today?
Today's posted open and close for Six Flags Darien Lake appear in the card near the top of this page, in Eastern Time. On a summer date expect 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, or a 7:00 PM close if it is a Monday or Tuesday. On a fall weekend expect an 11:00 AM open and a 6:00 PM close. If no hours are shown, the park is closed.
What are Darien Lake's hours tomorrow?
Tomorrow's hours sit in the 14 day table under the today card, and the day by day list below shows every posted date for the season. Because Darien Lake closes several weekdays each week outside the summer, tomorrow is often a closed date rather than a short one. Weather calls and private buyouts are what change a posted time at short notice.
Which months is Six Flags Darien Lake open in 2026?
The 2026 season runs from May 15 to October 11. May and most of June are Friday through Monday only. Daily operation covered June 24 through Labor Day on September 7. From September 8 the park is open Saturdays and Sundays only, through October 11. It is then closed until the following spring, with no winter event posted.
Does Six Flags Darien Lake have early entry for passholders?
No. Darien Lake publishes no early entry, preview hour, or passholder morning window. Neither the Gold Pass nor the Prestige Pass lists one, and no early access is advertised for guests staying at the Darien Lake Lodge or the campground. The Prestige Pass does include one Single Use Fast Lane per visit, a daytime line skip rather than an early start.
What should you ride first at Six Flags Darien Lake?
Ride of Steel. The 208 foot Intamin hypercoaster carries the longest wait of the day and its queue builds within the first hour, so walk straight to it at the 11:00 AM open and take a second lap if the line allows. Tantrum is the sensible next stop. Leave Hurricane Harbor for the afternoon, once the coaster lines have peaked.
Is Fast Lane worth it at Six Flags Darien Lake?
It depends on the date. Fast Lane covers nine attractions including Ride of Steel, Tantrum, Predator, and Viper, and it is sold inside the park in limited daily quantities rather than online. On a July or August Saturday, an Oktoberfest weekend, or a Fright Fest night it saves real time. On a Monday or Tuesday it rarely pays for itself.
Does Darien Lake have a night show or Fright Fest?
Both. The Laser Light Night Time Spectacular plays at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center amphitheater on nights the park stays open until 9:00 PM, and it is included with admission. Star Spangled Nights falls on July 4. Fright Fest runs five nights in 2026: September 19 and 26, then October 3, 10, and 11, with two mazes and three scare zones.
How early should you arrive at Six Flags Darien Lake?
Aim to be in the parking lot 30 to 40 minutes before the 11:00 AM open on a summer weekend, which clears the toll plaza and the bag check while both are short. On a Monday or Tuesday, 15 minutes is enough. For a Fright Fest night, arrive in the early afternoon and take the coasters in daylight.
How much is parking at Darien Lake and how do you get there?
General parking starts at $30 per vehicle and preferred parking at $50, before taxes, and Gold and Prestige passes include it. The park is at 9993 Alleghany Road, Corfu, New York, on Route 77 north of Darien Center, reached from Thruway exit 48A at Pembroke. Buffalo is about 27 miles away and Rochester about 47 miles. No bus serves the gate.
Do Darien Lake hours change in busy seasons, and why does it close early on some dates?
Yes. Hours expand to daily 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM operation from late June through August, then contract to weekends with a 6:00 PM close once school returns. An early close usually reflects expected attendance: Mondays and Tuesdays close at 7:00 PM all summer, and spring weekdays can close at 5:00 PM. Storms can also end a day early.
What are Hurricane Harbor hours at Six Flags Darien Lake?
Hurricane Harbor is included with Darien Lake admission and keeps its own shorter day inside the park's hours. It typically opens later in the spring than the rides and closes for the year before the fall weekend dates, and on most summer days the slides stop earlier in the evening than the coasters. Check the posted water park times on arrival.
