Nickelodeon Universe Mall of America Map: Entrances and Ride Landmarks

Nickelodeon Universe sits in the center of Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The important first decision is which side of the mall you arrive from: the park has north, east, west and south entrances. Use the official park map for attractions, and the mall directory for the route back to your parking area, hotel connection or transit stop.

Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America layout at a glance

An indoor park can be easy to see and surprisingly easy to leave from the wrong side. Before riding, record the mall entrance or parking location you used. The ride skyline helps you find the park; the mall directory helps you make the correct final turn on the way out.

Use three visual references: a broad view of the central atrium, the Splat-O-Sphere tower, and the clearly signed Dutchman’s Deck entrance. These are recognition points, not formal themed lands or a claim that every nearby attraction shares the same admission or restrictions.

  1. Remember your mall approachSave the parking section, mall entrance or transit connection before entering the park.
  2. Match a visible ride landmarkUse the tower, overhead track and attraction signs to identify your position.
  3. Return by the correct sideFinish near the exit that connects with the mall route you need.

These are planning stops, not a scale map. Use the operator map and signs for exact paths, entrances and accessible routes.

These photographs help turn an indoor ride map into recognizable landmarks. The overhead rails and several levels can make a short distance look like a direct route when it is not. Follow public paths and the signed attraction entrance, and use the mall’s elevators when you need an accessible change of level.

Start with the whole indoor park

The central atrium and overhead ride track

A view from the mall’s upper walkways helps show how the attractions fit inside the building. Use the colorful ride structures to identify the portion of the park you want, then return to the proper public route to that attraction’s entrance.

Before the group separates, choose a named meeting point that everyone can locate at park level. A particular shop or sign is clearer than a general instruction to meet under the roller coaster, whose track passes over several different places.

Landmarks: The indoor atrium, mall balconies and overhead coaster track.

Route tip: Pair the ride map with the mall directory so your last stop fits the route back to your parking or transit connection.

A tall central reference

Splat-O-Sphere and the ride skyline

The orange Splat-O-Sphere tower provides a strong visual reference beneath the mall roof. Find its name on the official map to orient yourself, then compare nearby attractions with the group’s interests and current rider requirements.

The overhead tracks in this area are useful landmarks, but they do not replace the walking paths shown on the map. If you are trying to meet someone, name the ride and the exact side of its entrance rather than relying only on the tower being visible.

Landmarks: Splat-O-Sphere and the surrounding overhead track.

Route tip: Use the tower for orientation, then check each ride’s signed entrance and current schedule.

Follow the named entrance

Dutchman’s Deck and the SpongeBob scenery

The green Dutchman’s Deck sign and surrounding SpongeBob scenery make this entrance distinct from a generic mall doorway. Match the attraction name to the operator’s information before choosing a queue or assuming that a nearby entrance leads to the ride you want.

The visit page lists Dutchman’s Deck among additional things to do. Check its current availability, access arrangements and ticket treatment separately from the main ride circuit. If it is not part of your plan, the signed entrance can still help you identify this side of the park.

Landmarks: Dutchman’s Deck entrance sign and SpongeBob-themed facade.

Route tip: Confirm the attraction you are entering; neighboring scenery does not mean the same ticket rules apply.

Choose a route that fits your visit

A good indoor route connects suitable rides with a clear return to the mall. Choose the plan around your group’s riding preferences and the current schedule. These are suggested sequences, not measured walking times or wait predictions.

Your priority A useful starting plan Check before moving on
A short first visit Record your arrival side, identify one or two priority rides and keep the return route simple. Whether a wristband or point option best fits the planned rides.
A thrill-ride circuit Use the current thrill list and map to group suitable rides around recognizable landmarks. Height, restraint and other rider requirements at each attraction.
A family or junior visit Pick suitable family and junior attractions before deciding the walking order. Companion requirements and any combined operating schedule.
A sensory or mobility plan Read the current sensory and rider safety guides, then identify services and suitable routes. The exact assistance, transfer or change-of-level arrangements needed.
  1. Save your parking section or arrival connection and identify its side of the mall.
  2. Open the park map from the official visit page and choose a manageable set of rides.
  3. Check the ride schedule before crossing the park for an attraction that may be closed or operating in rotation.
  4. Locate the named entrance for your first attraction rather than following an overhead track.
  5. Choose a final meeting point and return through the side of the park that connects to your original mall route.

Arrival, services and accessible routes

Four entrances, one remembered return

The operator identifies north, east, west and south park entrances. Note which one works with your arrival route. On the way out, compare the park map with the mall directory so you do not finish at the wrong parking ramp or door.

Parking and transit connections

Use Mall of America’s current hours and directions page for driving, parking and transit planning. Photograph your parking section before leaving it. If arriving by public transport, confirm the service and boarding location with the transport operator near your travel date.

Guest Services and accessible routes

Mall of America lists Guest Service desks at the east, north and west entrances on level one. Use the current mall directory to locate them. For mobility, sensory or boarding questions, consult the operator’s relevant guide and ask staff about the specific attraction.

Schedules can differ between rides

Nickelodeon Universe warns that rides can operate on a combined schedule on non-peak days and can close for maintenance. Check the current ride schedule before deciding the order. The park map and a photograph explain location, not present availability.

How to use the map on the day

Open the official visit page and select its Park Map download. Also open the mall directory if you need parking, hotel, dining or transit connections beyond the ride area. Keep those two views separate in your plan: the park map gets you to an attraction, while the mall map gets you to the correct building exit.

Check the current sensory and safety resources for any needs that affect the route. When planning a quieter break or an accessible change of level, ask staff to confirm the appropriate current location rather than treating a photographed corner as an available service.
