How to read these hours

A few signals tell you everything important about each date at Michigan's Adventure at a glance.

Operating Hours
Open and close times
Every date shows the posted open and close for Michigan's Adventure in Eastern Time. Midsummer days ran 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, late August and early September dates closed at 7:00 PM, and a short run of late May and early June weekdays posted 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. WildWater Adventure keeps a narrower window inside the main park day.
Passholder Access
No early entry published
Enchanted Parks publishes no early ride hour at Michigan's Adventure. Neither the Hero pass nor the Legend pass lists a morning head start, and no hotel or campground sells one, so the turnstiles open for everyone at the posted time. Plan the morning around arriving before the posted open rather than around a passholder window that does not exist.
Line Skip
Four Legend redemptions only
No daily line skip wristband is sold here. The upgrade list covers cabanas, a ten pack combo meal and parking, and the only skip in the program is the four Single Use Fast Lane redemptions bundled with the Enchanted Legend pass. Each one is scanned at a ride merge point, good for a single ride, one use per visit.
Shows and Events
No fireworks, an early close
Michigan's Adventure runs no fireworks and no nighttime show, which is why the posted close sits between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM rather than after dark. Live music appears in short afternoon blocks. The season ends on Labor Day with a passholder ride and game night rather than a Halloween event.

No early ride hour in Muskegon: what the Hero and Legend passes cover

Michigan's Adventure publishes no early entry window. Under Enchanted Parks, which took over operations on April 6, 2026 after EPR Properties bought the park from Six Flags, the benefit lists for both season pass tiers run to parking, food and retail discounts, bring a friend tickets and monthly offers, and neither one names an early ride hour. There is no hotel gate, no campground perk and no ticket upgrade that buys a head start. Everyone waits for the same turnstile.

The Enchanted Hero pass, listed from $105.99 for 2027, covers unlimited visits to Michigan's Adventure alone, with free general parking and a 10 percent discount on food and merchandise. The Enchanted Legend pass, from $165.99, extends to all eight parks the operator runs, adds 15 percent discounts, half price preferred parking, two free bring a friend tickets and four Single Use Fast Lane redemptions. Neither tier moves you through the gate any earlier than a $39.99 day ticket does.

That absence changes the shape of the morning. At parks with a passholder hour, the sensible plan is to be inside before the crowd. Here the equivalent move is to be parked and through security a few minutes before the posted open, because the queue that matters forms at the front gate rather than at a rope inside it. On a July Saturday that means arriving by about 10:30 AM for an 11:00 AM open.

Line skip at Michigan's Adventure: four redemptions, nothing sold at the gate

There is no all day line skip wristband at Michigan's Adventure. The upgrade page lists three things: cabana rentals, a ten pack combo meal and parking. Day guests who want a shorter queue for Shivering Timbers have no product to buy, which is unusual for a park this size and worth knowing before a busy Saturday. The park's answer to crowding is its own capacity: seven roller coasters and more than sixty rides and slides across roughly 250 acres.

The one exception sits inside the Enchanted Legend pass, which includes four Single Use Fast Lane redemptions per season. A single use redemption is exactly what the name says: one ride, scanned at the merge point of an eligible attraction, with the passholder present, one use per visit. Four of those across a season saves a handful of long waits rather than reshaping a day. Legend also carries Halloween access across the group, which does nothing here, because this park runs no Halloween event.

That leaves timing as the tool. Waits are shortest in the first ninety minutes and again in the last hour, and the middle of a hot July afternoon pushes a large share of the crowd into WildWater Adventure, which thins the queues on the dry side. A weekday in mid June, or one of the short 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM dates in late May, is a quieter visit than any wristband would have bought on a Saturday.

Evenings at Michigan's Adventure: no fireworks, and what the posted close means

Michigan's Adventure stages no fireworks, drone show or nighttime spectacular, and its calendar is not built around one. The consequence shows up in the posted times. The latest close of the 2026 season was 9:00 PM, used on July 3 and July 4 and on a run of Friday and Saturday dates through the rest of July. Most summer days closed at 8:00 PM, and by the middle of August the standard close had dropped to 7:00 PM.

Live entertainment sits in the afternoon rather than the evening. Timbertown Live brought the Oat Bran Boys to the Timbertown Live Stage from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on August 22 and again on September 5 and 6, and earlier in the season the lineup included Dockside Vibes, The Funland Farm Radio Hour, Udder Nonsense: Barnyard Storytime and a Jet Pack Water Spectacular over the water park. These are short sets on a posted schedule, not a finale that holds the crowd.

The one late item on the 2026 calendar was the last day itself. September 7, Labor Day, posted 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the public, then ran an Enchanted Experience billed as Cheers to 70 Years from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, a passholder ride and game night marking seventy years since the property opened as Deer Park in 1956. Guests already in line at the posted close still ride.

How a fifteen week calendar gets built in west Michigan

Michigan's Adventure runs one of the shortest seasons of any large American amusement park. The 2026 calendar opened on Friday, May 22 and finished on Monday, September 7, roughly fifteen weeks from first gate to last. There is no spring weekend season reaching back into April and no fall extension into October. Once Labor Day passes the park closes for the year, and the next posted date falls in the following May.

Inside that window the pattern is straightforward. Late May and early June mixed short weekdays of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekends. Daily operation held from early June through late August, with closes stepping up from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM once Michigan schools broke in the middle of June. The park then went dark from August 24 to 27 and again from August 31 to September 3, opening only for the two closing weekends.

WildWater Adventure runs a shorter season inside the main one. The water park opened for the summer on Saturday, June 13, three weeks after the amusement park, and its posted window on late season dates was 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, well inside the dry park's day. One admission covers both sides, so there is no second ticket, but the slides shut hours before the coasters do and close earlier still on cool or windy afternoons.

The operator posts the season date by date on the official calendar page rather than in monthly blocks, with the standard note that dates, times and rates can change. Today's hours appear in the card near the top of this page, and the day by day list below shows every posted date. A 2027 opening date had not been published as of early September 2026, although 2027 passes were already on sale with the rest of 2026 included.

The first hour: the walk out to Shivering Timbers

Shivering Timbers is the reason most people drive to Muskegon, and it is the ride to take first. The Custom Coasters International woodie opened in 1998, covers 5,383 feet of out and back track in about two and a half minutes and drops 122 feet. It is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Michigan, and it sits well back from the front gate, so the walk out at opening leaves most of the arriving crowd behind.

After that, work back through the two rides that build the next longest waits: Thunderhawk, the 2008 Vekoma inverted coaster, and Wolverine Wildcat, the 1988 wooden coaster from the Dinn Corporation. Corkscrew and Mad Mouse hold shorter lines all day and are safe to leave for the afternoon. The Peanuts themed family rides and Zach's Zoomer rarely need an early slot, and the water park does not open until noon on most dates, so there is no reason to start there.

First hour order

On a July date with an 11:00 AM open, a first hour that clears Shivering Timbers and Thunderhawk before noon sets up everything after it. The common mistake is stopping at whichever ride sits closest to the gate and letting the Shivering Timbers queue build while you ride something that will have no line at 4:00 PM either. The second is heading for WildWater Adventure at opening, when the water park is still closed.

Driving to 4750 Whitehall Road from Muskegon and Grand Rapids

The park address is 4750 Whitehall Road, Muskegon, Michigan 49445, on the stretch of Muskegon County between Muskegon and Whitehall. From Muskegon it is about 9 miles and roughly 13 minutes by car. From Grand Rapids it is close to 50 miles and about 50 minutes without traffic, which puts Michigan's Adventure within an easy day trip of the whole west side of the state.

General parking costs $15.99 bought online, listed as $15.00 plus a $0.99 fee before tax. Premium parking is $45.99 online or $50 at the gate. Both season pass tiers include free general parking, and the Legend tier adds half price preferred parking. Parking is not validated for re-entry, so leaving the lot during the day means paying again, and anyone who steps out and returns also goes back through security screening.

There is no rail service and no scheduled bus route to the gate, so a car or a taxi is effectively the only way in. Local operators cover the short run from Muskegon, though return trips thin out late on a quiet weekday. The Family Fun Pack, sold at $48.99 per person for groups of four or more, bundles parking with admission, a combo meal and a refillable souvenir cup.

Month by month: May 22 to the Labor Day close

The season opened on Friday, May 22 with a short 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM day, then ran 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM across Memorial Day weekend and the weekend after it. Three weekdays in the last week of May repeated the 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM pattern, and the park was closed on May 26. These short days are the quietest on the calendar and the only dates all year with a 10:00 AM open.

June splits in two. The first week held three more 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekdays and closed on June 1 and 2, then daily operation settled at 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM through June 14. From June 15 the close moved to 8:00 PM and stayed there for the rest of the month. WildWater Adventure joined the schedule on June 13, so any visit before that date buys the amusement park alone.

July carried the full schedule: open daily at 11:00 AM, closing at 8:00 PM on most dates and at 9:00 PM on July 3 and 4 and on the Friday and Saturday pairs later in the month. This is the only stretch of the year with hours past 8:00 PM, and the Independence Day weekend is the busiest of the season. August began the same way, then stepped back to 7:00 PM from the middle of the month.

The fall schedule is very short. After a last week of daily operation the park closed from August 24 to 27, opened August 28 through 30 at 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, closed again from August 31 to September 3, and finished with September 4, 5 and 6 at 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Labor Day, September 7, at 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No Halloween event follows, and the park stays closed until the 2027 season.

Frequently asked questions

What time does Michigan's Adventure open?

Michigan's Adventure opened at 11:00 AM on almost every 2026 date, including all of July and August and the closing weekends in September. A small group of weekdays in late May and early June opened at 10:00 AM and closed at 4:00 PM. No early entry window is published for season passholders, so the posted time is when the gates open for everyone.

What time does Michigan's Adventure close?

Closing times ranged from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM across the 2026 season. The 9:00 PM close appeared only on July 3 and July 4 and on Friday and Saturday dates later in July. Most dates from mid June through mid August closed at 8:00 PM, late August and early September at 7:00 PM, and the final day, Labor Day on September 7, at 6:00 PM.

What are Michigan's Adventure hours today?

Today's posted open and close appear in the card near the top of this page, shown in Eastern Time. During the season, expect an 11:00 AM open with a close somewhere between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM depending on the date. Outside the season, which ran from May 22 to September 7 in 2026, the card shows no hours because the park is closed.

What are Michigan's Adventure hours tomorrow?

Tomorrow's posted hours sit in the fourteen day table under the today card, and the day by day list below shows every posted date. The operator publishes the schedule date by date well ahead of time, so the times rarely shift, though the official calendar notes that dates and times can change. Weather can close individual rides and the water slides without changing the posted hours.

Which months is Michigan's Adventure open?

Michigan's Adventure is open from late May through Labor Day only. The 2026 season ran from May 22 to September 7, with daily operation from early June through late August and weekend dates at each end. The park is closed from September through the following May, including all of October, so there is no fall or winter visit to plan.

Does Michigan's Adventure have early entry for season passholders?

No. Enchanted Parks publishes no early entry or early ride time at Michigan's Adventure. The Enchanted Hero pass, from $105.99, and the Enchanted Legend pass, from $165.99, list free general parking, food and retail discounts and bring a friend tickets, but neither names a morning window. No hotel, campground or ticket upgrade sells one either.

What should you ride first at Michigan's Adventure?

Shivering Timbers. The 1998 wooden coaster covers 5,383 feet of out and back track, drops 122 feet and is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Michigan, and it sits well back from the front gate, so walking straight out at opening puts most of the arriving crowd behind you. Follow it with Thunderhawk and Wolverine Wildcat, and save Corkscrew and Mad Mouse for the afternoon.

Is there a Fast Lane or line skip at Michigan's Adventure?

No line skip wristband is sold to day guests. The upgrade list covers cabana rentals, a ten pack combo meal and parking. The only line skip in the program is the four Single Use Fast Lane redemptions bundled with the Enchanted Legend pass, each good for one ride, scanned at a merge point, with a limit of one use per visit.

Does Michigan's Adventure have fireworks or evening shows?

No. The park stages no fireworks, drone show or nighttime spectacular, which is why nothing on the calendar runs late. Live music is an afternoon item: Timbertown Live played from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on August 22 and on September 5 and 6 in 2026. The last day of the season added a passholder ride and game night from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

How early should you arrive at Michigan's Adventure?

Aim to be parked about 30 minutes before the posted open, so 10:30 AM for a standard 11:00 AM start. There is no passholder rope drop to beat, which means the only queues ahead of you are the parking booth and the security check. On a July Saturday or over the Independence Day weekend, add another fifteen minutes.

How much is parking at Michigan's Adventure and how do you get there?

General parking is $15.99 bought online, and premium parking is $45.99 online or $50 at the gate. Both season pass tiers include free general parking. The park sits at 4750 Whitehall Road in Muskegon, about 9 miles and 13 minutes from Muskegon and close to 50 miles and 50 minutes from Grand Rapids. No bus or rail route serves the gate.

Do the hours change with the season, and why do some dates close early?

Yes, within a narrow range. Closes stretch to 8:00 PM once Michigan schools break in mid June and to 9:00 PM around Independence Day and on later July weekends, then pull back to 7:00 PM from the middle of August. The short 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM dates in late May and early June reflect low expected attendance rather than an event. Storms off Lake Michigan can also stop rides during the day.

What are WildWater Adventure hours, and is it included with admission?

WildWater Adventure is included with Michigan's Adventure admission, so one ticket covers both parks. It opened for the summer on Saturday, June 13, 2026, three weeks after the amusement park, and its posted window on late season dates was 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, inside the main park day. The slides close early on cool or windy afternoons.
