Regular park hours; separately ticketed events can differ. Official operating calendar, checked October 8, 2026. Operator records are available for 354 dates through September 26, 2027. Next confirmed opening: Friday, October 9, 3 PM to 10 PM.

Schedule data through September 26, 2027. Source data pull dates range from September 10, 2026 through October 8, 2026. Dates missing from our data are marked unavailable. This does not establish whether the park has published them.

Collection dates describe the rows available to this page. They are not a current operator check for every visit date. An unavailable date does not establish a closure or whether the park has published a schedule.

How to read these hours

A few signals tell you everything important about each date at Liseberg at a glance.

Operating Hours
Open and close times
Each date shows Liseberg's posted open and close in Central European Time. Fridays typically run 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM in summer and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the event seasons, and Sundays 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Only the daily summer dates in July and early August open at 10:00 AM.
Early Entry
No head start on sale
Liseberg publishes no early entry or preview window, and none of its annual passes lists one. The Liseberg Pass covers admission at 395 SEK, the Gold Pass adds unlimited rides at 2,595 SEK, and admission and rides are otherwise bought separately. Arriving before the gate opens is the only head start available.
Virtual Queue
What replaced Express Pass
Liseberg's own questions page says the Express Pass has been discontinued and that a virtual queue now takes its place, so no paid line skip is sold. The park does not publish which attractions use the virtual queue or whether it carries a charge. Live wait times are shown in the Liseberg app.
Seasons and Events
Three seasons, not one
The year splits into a summer season from April 18 to September 20, Halloween from October 2 to November 1, and a Christmas season from mid November, with closed weeks between them. Kaninlandet, the children's area, also opens on its own for short 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM dates in spring and autumn.

No early entry to buy at Liseberg, and what the Gold Pass covers instead

Liseberg publishes no early entry hour, no preview window and no rope hold for a favored group. Everyone passes the turnstiles at the posted opening time, whatever the ticket. The annual passes describe free admission on every open date and nothing beyond it: the Liseberg Pass at 395 SEK and the Duo version at 695 SEK cover entry only, the senior version costs 195 SEK, and the Gold Pass at 2,595 SEK adds unlimited rides. Nor does the Grand Curiosa Hotel beside the park publish early access for its guests. The head start at Liseberg is arrival time and gate choice, nothing else.

What a pass does remove is the ticket line, which matters here more than at parks with a single all in price. Admission and rides are two separate purchases at Liseberg. Ride passes can be bought online, at a ticket counter or from machines inside the park, and the park states that the online price beats the gate price. Buying before you travel means the first half hour goes on the rides rather than on a machine queue. Re entry is allowed on the same day with a hand stamp at either entrance, which makes a split day practical when the posted close is late.

Express Pass is gone, and a virtual queue stands in its place

Liseberg used to sell an Express Pass. Its own questions page now states that the product has been discontinued and that a virtual queue has taken over, and the ride index refers to virtual queueing as a feature rather than a purchase. There is no wristband, no tiered upgrade and no per ride skip ticket on the price list. What the park does not publish is the detail: which attractions the virtual queue covers, whether joining one costs anything, whether it is capped per person per day, and how far in advance a return time can be taken. Treat it as something to check in the app on arrival.

The practical effect is that a Liseberg day is governed by arrival time, weather and weekday rather than by how much a group is willing to spend on queue position. The Liseberg app is the only published source of live wait times, and the park is cashless apart from its games stalls, so a charged phone is closer to essential than optional. Single ride coupons at 25 SEK and a 425 SEK coupon book exist for guests who plan to ride only a few times, but neither shortens a line. Neither does the Gold Pass, which buys unlimited rides rather than faster ones.

Concert nights, the 6:00 PM ride pass, and what fills a Liseberg evening

Liseberg's evening draw is programmed rather than pyrotechnic. Stora Scenen carries the main concert bill, and the posted calendar flags event nights that cluster on Fridays and Saturdays, which are also the dates that run to 10:00 PM. Concerts are not automatically covered by park admission: the listing for the Take That show on June 21, 2027 prices a concert ticket at 75 SEK on top of entry. Rondo, the theater on the park site, runs a separate season, with Grease The Musical booked from September 25 to January 31 from 595 SEK.

No nightly fireworks display or closing show appears on Liseberg's hours and program pages, so the posted close is simply a close rather than the end of a finale. The hours themselves are the evening product. An evening ride pass valid from 6:00 PM sells from 225 SEK, and an evening admission and ride pass combination from 275 SEK, both aimed squarely at the 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday closes. In the Halloween and Christmas seasons the darkness is the attraction, which is why those calendars lean on 3:00 PM and 12:00 PM opens instead of morning ones.

Three separate seasons, and the closed weeks that sit between them

Liseberg does not run one long season. The 2026 calendar breaks into a summer season from April 18 to September 20, a Halloween season from October 2 to November 1, and a Christmas season starting in mid November. Each carries its own admission price, its own hours and its own set of open days, and the park shuts completely in between. The gap after summer runs September 21 to October 1, and the gap after Halloween runs November 2 to November 13. A date that falls in one of those windows is not a short day; it is a closed one.

A fourth pattern runs underneath the three. Kaninlandet, the rabbit themed children's area, opens on its own while the rest of the park stays shut, on short dates that run 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Those dates covered April 1 through April 12, then September 26, 27 and 30 and October 1, then two midweek dates in the middle of October when Swedish schools take an autumn break. Liseberg states that during Autumn in Kaninlandet only the rabbits' own land is open, so a ticket on one of those dates buys a children's area rather than a coaster park.

Inside the summer season the closed days are Mondays through Wednesdays in spring and again from mid August, with an unbroken daily run from June 10 to August 16. The posted calendar in early September 2026 reached January 31, 2027, roughly five months ahead, with short 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM dates carrying into January. No dates for the 2027 summer season had been published. Today's hours appear in the card near the top of this page, and the day by day list below shows every posted date.

The first hour at Liseberg, and why the gate you pick decides it

Liseberg is built across a hillside with two gates: the North Entrance on Orgrytevagen, a short walk from the Korsvagen junction, and the South Entrance on Getebergsled. The park's own published ride coordinates put Helix in the northern half of the site and Valkyria and Balder close together in the southern half, which means the gate you choose settles which headliner you reach first. Standing at the correct entrance 20 to 30 minutes before the posted open is worth more here than any ticket upgrade, because there is no upgrade that moves you forward.

The complication is that a Liseberg opening is often not a morning at all. Fridays across most of the season open at 3:00 PM, and Sundays, Halloween dates and Christmas dates at 12:00 PM. On a 3:00 PM open the entire day's crowd arrives inside the first hour, which reverses the usual advice: the calmest coaster hour on a Friday is the last one rather than the first. Only the daily summer dates from July 6 to August 9 opened at 10:00 AM, and those are the mornings where standard rope drop logic applies.

Where to head first

From the South Entrance, Valkyria and Balder sit within a couple of minutes of each other, so a group can clear two of the three longest queues before the park fills. From the North Entrance, Helix is the first serious ride and the biggest, running 1,381 metres with seven inversions and two launches. Lisebergbanan, the terrain coaster that threads the hillside, holds its wait deep into the evening and is the better one to leave until late.

Valkyria, a 50 metre drop including the underground section, 132 cm and 7 years
Balder, 36 metres and 90 kph over 1,070 metres of wooden track, 130 cm and 7 years
Helix, 1,381 metres, seven inversions and two launches, 130 cm and 7 years
Lisebergbanan, 1,340 metres of terrain track, 130 cm or 110 cm with an adult
Stormvag, new for 2026 and open from May 14, 120 cm or 95 cm with an adult

Reaching Orgrytevagen from central Gothenburg by tram, train and car

Liseberg stands at Orgrytevagen 5, about 1.2 miles from Gothenburg Central Station, which is a walk of roughly 23 minutes through the city. Vasttrafik tram line 4 covers the same trip to Korsvagen in about 11 minutes, and other lines including 6 and 8 also call at that junction. A Vasttrafik regional train reaches the Liseberg stop from Gothenburg Central Station in about four minutes, running roughly every half hour, and bus 300 runs from Akareplatsen to Korsvagen in about five minutes. Korsvagen is also a construction site, with a West Link railway station being built below the junction.

Driving is the weaker option and Liseberg treats it that way. The park lists two garages: Liseberg Sodra at Vortgatan and Nellickevagen, with 1,170 spaces and charging points at roughly one in ten of them, and the Focus garage at Fabriksgatan 45 with 1,057 spaces. Neither rate appears on Liseberg's own parking page, which links out to the city parking operator instead, so parking cost is a variable rather than a fixed gate fee. Bicycle parking sits near the South Entrance, and coach spaces are set aside on Sofierogatan.

Liseberg hours month by month across the 2026 calendar

The summer season opened April 18 and ran weekends only into early June, with Fridays 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sundays 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Mondays through Wednesdays closed. Daily operation then held from June 10 to August 16 without a single closed date. Weekday opens moved from 1:00 PM to 10:00 AM on July 6 and stayed there to August 9 before stepping back. From August 17 the weekend only pattern returned and ran to the season close on September 20.

Halloween ran October 2 to November 1 and kept the weekend shape at first: Fridays 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sundays 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Thursday added on October 22. The final stretch is the heavy one. October 24 through October 31 ran daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the latest closes anywhere on the calendar, and November 1 finished at 8:00 PM. Halloween admission started from 125 SEK against 95 SEK in summer, with the ride pass from 335 SEK.

Christmas returned on November 14 after a closed fortnight, opening with the same Friday, Saturday and Sunday pattern and then adding Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM from early December. From December 19 the park went daily from a 12:00 PM open, closing at 10:00 PM on that Saturday and at 9:00 PM through December 23. It closed on December 24 and 25, reopened December 26 to December 30 at 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and posted 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on December 31. January 2027 dates carry that same short window on weekends and over the New Year holiday, and Liseberg had not published which parts of the park operate on them.

The water park that is not on this calendar

Oceana, the water park being built on the Liseberg site, is not open and does not appear anywhere in the 2026 hours. Liseberg states that Oceana is set to open in 2027, following a fire during construction in February 2024. Published plans describe roughly 13,600 square metres in total, with a 6,000 square metre indoor pool hall, 4,000 square metres outdoors and 14 water attractions. No opening date, no daily hours and no ticket prices had been published, so nothing about a second gate can be planned around yet.

Liseberg's opening time depends on the season and the weekday rather than a single standard. Fridays through most of 2026 opened at 3:00 PM, Saturdays at 11:00 AM in summer and 12:00 PM in the Halloween and Christmas seasons, and Sundays at 12:00 PM. The earliest opens, at 10:00 AM, ran only on daily summer dates from July 6 to August 9. Kaninlandet only dates open at 11:00 AM.

What time does Liseberg close?

The most common close is 10:00 PM, posted on Fridays and Saturdays through the summer and Halloween seasons and on every daily summer date. Sundays close at 8:00 PM. The latest closes of the year, at 11:00 PM, ran from October 24 to October 31 during Halloween. Christmas Wednesdays and Thursdays close at 9:00 PM, and the short Kaninlandet only dates close at 5:00 PM.

What are Liseberg's hours today?

Today's hours appear in the card near the top of this page, in Central European Time. On a summer Friday expect 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on a Saturday 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and on a Sunday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If the card shows no hours at all, Liseberg is closed today, which is normal on Mondays through Wednesdays outside the peak summer weeks.

What are Liseberg's hours tomorrow?

Tomorrow's posted open and close sit in the 14 day table under the today card, and the day by day list below shows every posted date. Liseberg publishes months ahead, so tomorrow is rarely a surprise. The seasons do change abruptly, though: the day after a season ends, the park is usually closed outright rather than open on shorter hours.

Which months is Liseberg open?

Liseberg operated from April to December in 2026 and posted dates into January 2027, but not continuously. The summer season ran April 18 to September 20, Halloween October 2 to November 1, and Christmas from November 14. February and March carried no posted dates, and the park was closed for the stretches between seasons and on December 24 and 25.

Does Liseberg have early entry?

No early entry or preview window is published, so everyone enters at the posted opening time. The Liseberg Pass at 395 SEK covers admission only and the Gold Pass at 2,595 SEK adds unlimited rides, but neither is listed as granting a head start, and no early access is published for guests of the Grand Curiosa Hotel. Arriving before the gate opens is the only advantage on offer.

What should you ride first at Liseberg?

It depends on which gate you use. From the South Entrance on Getebergsled, Valkyria and Balder stand close together and can both be cleared early. From the North Entrance on Orgrytevagen, Helix is the first major coaster, with seven inversions and two launches across 1,381 metres. Lisebergbanan holds its queue late into the evening, so it is the better one to save for last.

Is there a paid line skip at Liseberg?

Not any more. Liseberg's questions page states that the Express Pass has been discontinued and that a virtual queue now takes its place. There is no wristband, tier or express ticket to buy. The park does not publish which rides use the virtual queue or whether joining one costs anything, and live wait times appear only in the Liseberg app.

Does Liseberg have fireworks or evening shows?

No nightly fireworks display or closing show is listed on Liseberg's hours and program pages. Evening programming runs instead through concerts on Stora Scenen, marked as event nights on the calendar and concentrated on Fridays and Saturdays, and through the Rondo theater. Some concerts need a separate ticket on top of admission. An evening ride pass valid from 6:00 PM sells from 225 SEK.

How early should you arrive at Liseberg?

Twenty to thirty minutes before the posted opening is enough on most dates, and it matters more on the late opens than the early ones. A 3:00 PM Friday or a 12:00 PM Sunday sends the whole day's crowd through the gates at once, so the first two hours are the busiest of that day. Pick the entrance nearest the coaster you want first.

How much is parking at Liseberg and how do you get there?

Liseberg is at Orgrytevagen 5, about 1.2 miles from Gothenburg Central Station. Tram line 4 reaches Korsvagen in about 11 minutes, a regional train reaches the Liseberg stop in about four minutes, and the walk takes roughly 23 minutes. Two garages serve the park, Liseberg Sodra and Focus, but Liseberg does not publish their rates and links to the city parking operator instead.

Do Liseberg's hours change in busy seasons?

Yes, and the change is structural rather than a small extension. Peak summer replaces the weekend only schedule with daily operation and pulls the opening forward to 10:00 AM. The last week of the Halloween season goes daily and pushes the close out to 11:00 PM. The Christmas run adds Wednesdays and Thursdays in early December, then goes daily from December 19.

Why does Liseberg close early on some dates?

An early close usually means the date belongs to a different season than the one before it. Sundays close at 8:00 PM across the whole calendar, Christmas midweek dates at 9:00 PM, and the Kaninlandet only dates at 5:00 PM because just the children's area is operating. A short posted day is a signal about which part of the park is open, not only about how long it stays open.
