What each inch unlocks
NINJAGO, Pirate River Quest, the carousel, all of DUPLO Valley. The shared layer every family gets regardless of the measuring stick.
Galacticoaster plus Merlin’s Challenge, Beetle Bounce, and Technicycle. The newest coaster in the park lives in this band.
The Dragon and Masters of Flight. The classic first coaster milestone and the flying theater.
Coastersaurus and The Great LEGO Race at 42; Mia’s and Splash Out at 48. At 48 a rider also stops needing companions on most rides.
Two rules that shape every band
The companion rule
- Most rides pair shorter riders with a companion. LEGOLAND calls this a responsible rider or supervising companion, generally age 14 or older and meeting the stated height; Galacticoaster sets it at 13.
- 48 inches is the independence line. On most rides, a child at 48 no longer needs the companion seat.
The fit rule
- Restraints decide the edge cases. A rider whose belt or lap bar does not secure properly will be asked to exit, whatever the measuring stick said.
- Shoes and proper clothing are required on all theme park rides.
No height minimum
LEGO NINJAGO The Ride (under 48 rides with a companion 14 or older who is 48 or taller), Pirate River Quest, The Grand Carousel (under 48 with a responsible person 48 or taller), the DUPLO Train and all of DUPLO Valley, plus Junior Astronaut Training Zone, Benny’s Play Ship, the Botanical Gardens, Imagination Zone, LEGO Ferrari Build and Race, Miniland USA, Pharaoh’s Revenge, and The LEGOLAND Story.
Driving School is ages 6 to 13 and Jr. Driving School ages 3 to 5, with driving ability rather than height as the gate. Kid Power Towers and Lost Kingdom Adventure start at 30 inches with companions under 42.

AQUAZONE Wave Racers lists 52 inches to ride alone, with riders 40 to 52 inches accompanied by a responsible rider 14 or older in the same vehicle.
Water park minimums
The slides on the Joker Soaker play structure start at 40 inches.
The 375 foot tube slides; under 48 rides with a responsible person over 48, two riders and 400 pounds per tube.
The drop slides run one rider at a time with a 300 pound limit.
The toddler splash area is for children age 6 and under with an adult.
Planning the day by your rider’s band
Build the day on NINJAGO, Pirate River Quest, DUPLO Valley, and the shows. Nothing on the list will turn the family away.
Galacticoaster becomes the headline. Ride it at opening, then live in the no minimum layer for the rest of the day.
The Dragon and Masters of Flight open up. This is the classic first coaster visit; plan both before lunch.
Coastersaurus and The Great LEGO Race complete the set, and at 48 the companion rules fall away almost everywhere.
Bottom line: measure at home in shoes, plan to the shorter rider, and recheck the official page on travel day; minimums can change with refurbishments.
