How to read these hours

A few signals tell you everything important about each date at Europa-Park at a glance.

Operating Hours
Open and close times
Each date shows the posted open and close for Europa-Park in Central European Time. Summer and Halloween dates run 9:00 AM until at least 6:00 PM. HALLOWinter and winter dates run 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM. The park operates every day inside a season, with December 24 and 25, 2026 closed across the whole resort.
Early Entry
Hotel guest head start
Guests booked into resort accommodation together with tickets enter before the public. In summer that means 8:15 AM, 45 minutes ahead of the 9:00 AM open, with WODAN Timburcoaster listed from 8:30 AM. In the HALLOWinter and winter seasons it means 10:00 AM, a full hour ahead. A day ticket alone does not qualify.
Queues
VirtualLine, not a paid pass
Europa-Park sells no paid line skip at any price. VirtualLine is a free reservation service inside the official app, covering seven attractions including Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac and blue fire Megacoaster. Only one attraction can be held at a time, the assigned window cannot be changed, and availability runs out on peak dates.
Seasons and Events
Halloween, Traumatica, winter
Halloween season runs September 26 to November 1, 2026 with more than 180,000 pumpkins and no change to the posted hours. Traumatica, a separately ticketed horror event for ages 16 and over, runs evenings from September 23 to November 7. Winter season brings a Christmas market, an ice rink and the Eurosat Mapping Show after dark.

Early entry for Europa-Park Resort hotel guests

Europa-Park sells no early entry to day visitors. The head start belongs to guests booked into the resort's own accommodation, and it is generous by European standards. In the summer season the gates open for hotel guests at 8:15 AM, 45 minutes before the 9:00 AM public opening, with a selection of attractions running exclusively for them. In the HALLOWinter and winter seasons the window shifts to 10:00 AM, a full hour before the 11:00 AM opening. The benefit is tied to accommodation booked together with tickets, so it comes with the room rather than with a pass tier.

Forty five minutes sounds modest until it is measured against a 9:00 AM crowd. The resort draws roughly six million visits a year across a compact site, and on a July Saturday the queue for Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac can pass an hour before lunch. Riding it twice before the public opening is a different day from riding it once at noon. The resort notes that attractions and shows may be cancelled or changed for technical or weather reasons, so the early lineup is worth confirming in the official app that morning.

Who qualifies and what the benefit covers

Every property in the resort counts. The six themed hotels are Krønasår, Bell Rock, Colosseo, Santa Isabel, El Andaluz and Castillo Alcazar, joined by the Silver Lake City accommodations, which include the Riverside Western Lodge, Tipi Town, caravan pitches and a campsite. All stay open year round, including the weeks when the theme park itself is shut. Early entry applies to Europa-Park and to Rulantica, and the resort lists it among the standard advantages of an overnight stay, alongside free hotel parking and the shuttle.

Early entry at Rulantica

The water world runs its own version of the benefit. Rulantica opens to the public at 9:30 AM, and hotel guests can be inside from 9:00 AM with the whole world open to them rather than a selected part of it. Evening admissions shift by the same 30 minutes: an evening ticket lets hotel guests in from 4:30 PM instead of 5:00 PM, and a moonlight ticket from 6:30 PM instead of 7:00 PM. Rulantica has its own gate and its own ticket, so this window is entirely separate from the theme park's.

VirtualLine, and the paid line skip Europa-Park does not sell

Anyone arriving from a North American park to look for the upgrade counter will not find one. Europa-Park sells no paid line skip: no wristband tier, no per ride purchase, no premium queue at the headliners. What exists instead is VirtualLine, which the park describes as a free additional service with very limited availability. It runs through the official Europa-Park and Rulantica app. Switch on location services, choose a participating attraction, verify the ticket by scanning a paper ticket, opening a digital one or signing in with a ResortPass, and the app returns an assigned time window.

Two rules decide how much VirtualLine is worth. Only one attraction can be held at a time, exactly as in a physical queue, so the reservation is a genuine choice rather than a shopping list. And the assigned window cannot be moved once issued. The service is visible in the app only while the park is open and the phone is inside it, which rules out booking slots over breakfast. Slots for the biggest coasters can be gone by late morning on a peak Saturday, so the single reservation is best spent on the headliner showing the longest posted wait.

Which attractions offer VirtualLine

Seven attractions carried VirtualLine as of the 2026 season, mixing the coaster lineup with the two largest indoor draws. Availability is checked in the app on the day, because a ride taken out of service loses its VirtualLine slots along with its standby queue. None of these need an extra payment, and no attraction anywhere in the park offers a shorter paid alternative.

Evening programming and why the theme park closes before dark

Europa-Park runs no nightly fireworks and no closing spectacular, which surprises visitors who arrive expecting one. In summer the theme park is scheduled to close at 6:00 PM, hours before dusk in June, so the evening at the resort moves elsewhere: to Rulantica, which runs to 10:00 PM every day, to the ticketed dinner shows and evening cinema, and in autumn to Traumatica. The daytime show program carries the entertainment instead, with several venues running full stage productions on repeat, all of them included with theme park admission.

Traumatica is the one event that takes over the site after dark, and it is a separate business. It runs from September 23 to November 7, 2026, on Fridays through Sundays plus selected Thursdays and on Halloween itself, October 31. Entry and ticket checks begin at 5:45 PM, the food court opens at 6:00 PM, the attractions run from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and the gates close at 11:30 PM. Admission is from 16 years, with two experiences, THE HOTEL and THE FORBIDDEN Club, restricted to guests aged 18 and over. Tickets are sold separately, starting from €33.00 for an event pass.

Winter is the season when the posted close actually lands after dark. From November 28, 2026 the theme park runs 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM, so the last two hours are spent among lit Christmas trees, a Christmas market selling mulled wine and roasted almonds, an ice skating rink and the Bellevue Ferris wheel. The Eurosat Mapping Show throws colored projections onto the coaster's dome after sunset and is the closest thing the resort has to a nighttime show.

Shows running in the 2026 summer season

Show titles rotate between seasons, and the running order is published in the app on the day rather than fixed to a permanent clock. The lineup below was the one the resort listed for the summer season that ended September 25, 2026. Halloween and winter bring their own replacements, so a title seen in July may not be playing in December.

Big Moments, The Celebration Show

The four seasons Europa-Park divides its year into

Europa-Park does not publish a date by date calendar of shifting hours the way American parks do. It publishes four seasons, each with one opening time and one guaranteed minimum close, then runs that pattern every single day inside the block. Summer season 2026 covered March 28 to September 25, daily from 9:00 AM until at least 6:00 PM. Halloween season followed from September 26 to November 1 on the same clock. HALLOWinter covered November 2 to 27 and moved to 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM. Winter season runs November 28, 2026 to January 9, 2027 on those same winter hours.

Two things follow from that structure. There are no closed weekdays: inside a season the park operates seven days a week, with only December 24 and 25, 2026 closed across the entire resort. And a midweek visit and a Saturday visit get identical posted hours, so the calendar itself carries no information about crowds. That is unusual, and it means the posted times cannot be read as a demand signal the way they can at a park that trims its evenings once the shoulder season arrives.

The gap in the year sits after January 9, 2027. The theme park closes for the winter break and reopens for the next summer season in spring, while the hotels and Rulantica stay open through it. Season dates are announced well ahead, and the published Rulantica price list already ran to March 19, 2027 by early September 2026. Today's hours appear in the card near the top of this page, and the day by day list below shows every posted date, including the early November changeover.

The first hour: Voltron Nevera or Silver Star

The two coasters that decide the shape of a morning sit at opposite ends of the park. Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac is the multi launch Mack Rides coaster that opened in April 2024 in the Croatian themed area, with seven inversions and a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and it takes the longest queue on almost every date. Silver Star is the Bolliger and Mabillard hypercoaster from 2002, standing 73 meters tall with a 67 meter drop, over on the France side where the new Monaco area arrives in 2026.

The usual approach is Voltron Nevera at the opening and Silver Star second, because Voltron Nevera's queue grows fastest while Silver Star's high hourly capacity keeps its wait steadier through the middle of the day. Whichever comes first, the walk matters more here than at most parks. Europa-Park spreads around a hundred attractions across a large site organized as themed European countries, and crossing it takes real minutes. Anyone who stops at the first thing they pass reaches the headliner in a line that formed while they were riding something with no line at all.

A first hour built around the 9:00 AM open

On a summer date with a 9:00 AM opening, a first hour that clears Voltron Nevera and Silver Star before 10:15 AM leaves the rest of the day for rides that stay reasonable. The order below assumes walking straight past the entrance shops rather than through them. Hotel guests entering at 8:15 AM can usually fold in one extra coaster before the public arrives, and WODAN Timburcoaster is the ride the resort names as running from 8:30 AM.

The mistake most first visits make

The common error is treating a 6:00 PM close like a 10:00 PM close. A summer day here is nine hours long, not thirteen, and the site is large enough that one unplanned lap eats an hour of it. The second error is holding the single VirtualLine reservation back for later and then finding the slots gone. The third is arriving at 9:00 AM exactly, which puts a car into the arrival traffic on the approach road and a body into the security line at the same moment as several thousand others.

Reading the phrase at least in a posted closing time

Europa-Park states its closing time as at least 6:00 PM in summer and at least 7:00 PM in the two winter blocks, and that wording does real work. It sets a floor rather than a fixed end: the park commits to that hour and keeps the ability to run later. Most posted dates through the 2026 summer and Halloween seasons showed 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no extension, and December dates showed 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, so the minimum is usually also the actual close.

Because the hours do not flex by day of week, the closing time cannot be used to guess how busy a date will be. Other signals do that job: school holidays across southwest Germany, eastern France and northern Switzerland, weekends, and the Halloween weeks, when more than 180,000 pumpkins go up and the autumn crowd arrives with them. An unexpected early end to a day is more likely to come from weather than from the schedule, since ice, snow, strong wind and unusual temperatures can close individual attractions during the winter seasons.

Reaching Rust from Freiburg, Strasbourg and Basel

Europa-Park sits in Rust, a village on the Upper Rhine plain in southwest Germany, within an easy drive of three cities in three countries. Freiburg is closest, roughly 37 kilometers south of the park and about half an hour by car. Strasbourg lies across the Rhine in France, close to 50 minutes by road once the river crossing and the approach are counted. Basel, in Switzerland, is around 90 kilometers away, near an hour on a clear morning. Drivers use the A5 motorway and leave at exit 57b, signposted Rust, which feeds directly toward the resort.

Parking is cheap by theme park standards. A visitor car park ticket costs €10.00 for one vehicle, dated to the chosen day of visit, with no exchange or refund afterward. A reserved space at the main entrance costs €32.00. Guests staying in the resort park free at their own hotel and ride the resort shuttle. Buying the parking ticket online alongside admission removes one stop from the arrival, which matters on a Saturday in the Halloween weeks, when the approach roads carry a full day of arrivals inside about ninety minutes.

Rail is a genuine option rather than an afterthought. The nearest station is Ringsheim Europa-Park, about seven kilometers away, and bus line 7231 covers the last stretch to the main entrance in a few minutes, with lines 570 and 572 also serving the route. A EuroCity Express running between Frankfurt and Milan calls there twice a day. From Freiburg the train and bus combination takes roughly an hour and a half, and FlixBus runs coaches to Rust from Freiburg, Strasbourg and Basel on limited schedules.

Airports and shuttle transfers

The resort lists Black Forest Airport Lahr at 20 kilometers as the nearest airfield, with Karlsruhe Baden Baden and Strasbourg both at 64 kilometers, EuroAirport Basel at 90 kilometers, Stuttgart at 175, Zurich at 186 and Frankfurt at 240. Partner companies run shuttle transfers from several of them, priced per vehicle for up to seven people rather than per head. The transfer from Ringsheim station is listed at €24.00 one way, which only makes sense for a group carrying luggage rather than for a solo rider.

Europa-Park hours by month, from the March opening to the January close

Late March through June carries the summer pattern: 9:00 AM until at least 6:00 PM, every day, with the outdoor sections of Rulantica coming online from May. The 2026 summer season began on March 28. Spring weekdays outside the German and French school holidays are the quietest full days of the year and the only realistic chance of walking onto Voltron Nevera without a VirtualLine slot. Easter week and the May public holidays run hard against that, because the region has a dense holiday calendar and three national school systems feeding the same gate.

July, August and September hold the same posted 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and the heaviest crowds of the year. Every date checked across August and September 2026 showed those hours with no variation, so the difference between a Tuesday and a Saturday lives entirely in the queues rather than the clock. Rulantica extends to midnight on a handful of August dates, which gives the resort its only genuinely late nights of the summer. The summer season ended September 25, and the changeover to Halloween happened overnight with no closed day between the two.

Halloween season runs September 26 to November 1 on unchanged 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM hours, with the decoration rather than the schedule doing the work. Traumatica takes over parts of the site in the evenings on its own ticket from September 23. HALLOWinter, November 2 to 27, is the quiet block: the park moves to 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM, the autumn dressing gives way to the first winter one, and Rulantica closes entirely from November 16 to 27 for maintenance. It is the shortest posted day of the year and often the emptiest.

Winter season, November 28, 2026 to January 9, 2027, keeps 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM every day except December 24 and 25, when the entire resort closes. December 31 runs standard winter hours in the theme park, with separately ticketed New Year's Eve parties and dinner shows in the evening, while Rulantica shortens that day to 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. After January 9 the theme park closes for the winter break, and the hotels and water world carry the resort until spring.

Frequently asked questions

What time does Europa-Park open?

Europa-Park opens at 9:00 AM during the summer and Halloween seasons, which together cover late March through November 1, 2026. During the HALLOWinter and winter seasons, from November 2, 2026 through January 9, 2027, the opening time moves to 11:00 AM. Guests staying at a resort hotel enter 45 minutes early in summer and a full hour early in winter.

What time does Europa-Park close?

The posted close is at least 6:00 PM in the summer and Halloween seasons and at least 7:00 PM in the HALLOWinter and winter seasons. The phrase at least sets a minimum rather than a fixed end, though most 2026 dates ran exactly to the posted time. Rulantica, the separate water world next door, stays open until 10:00 PM.

What are Europa-Park's hours today?

Today's posted open and close for Europa-Park appear in the card near the top of this page, in Central European Time. Expect 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on any date from late March through November 1, and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM from November 2 through January 9. The park is closed on December 24 and 25, 2026.

What are Europa-Park's hours tomorrow?

Tomorrow's hours sit in the fourteen day table below the today card, and the day by day list below shows every posted date. Because Europa-Park runs one schedule for a whole season rather than varying by weekday, tomorrow almost always matches today, unless the date falls on a season changeover in late September or early November.

Which months is Europa-Park open, and when is it closed?

Europa-Park operated daily from March 28, 2026 through January 9, 2027, with only December 24 and 25 closed. That covers every month from late March to early January, weekdays included. The theme park then closes for the winter break until the next summer season opens in spring. The resort hotels and Rulantica stay open through the break.

Can hotel guests get into Europa-Park early?

Yes. Guests booked into resort accommodation together with tickets enter from 8:15 AM in the summer season, 45 minutes before the 9:00 AM public opening, and from 10:00 AM in the HALLOWinter and winter seasons, a full hour early. WODAN Timburcoaster is listed as running from 8:30 AM. The same benefit gives 9:00 AM entry at Rulantica.

What should you ride first at Europa-Park?

Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac is the usual first target. It opened in 2024, carries seven inversions, and builds the longest queue in the park. Silver Star, the 73 meter hypercoaster, works well second because its higher capacity keeps waits steadier through the day. blue fire Megacoaster and WODAN Timburcoaster follow. Walk straight past the entrance shops.

Does Europa-Park sell a paid line skip?

No. Europa-Park sells no express pass, fast pass or paid queue product at any price. The only queue tool is VirtualLine, a free reservation service in the official app covering seven attractions. Only one attraction can be held at a time, the assigned window cannot be changed, and slots are limited, so peak dates reward using it early.

Does Europa-Park have fireworks or a nighttime show?

There is no nightly fireworks show and no closing spectacular. The summer close at 6:00 PM falls well before dark. Evening programming comes instead from Traumatica, a separately ticketed horror event running September 23 to November 7, 2026, from the winter Eurosat Mapping Show projected after sunset, and from Rulantica, which runs to 10:00 PM.

How early should you arrive at Europa-Park?

Aim to be in the car park about 45 minutes before the posted opening, so roughly 8:15 AM for a 9:00 AM summer open. Parking, the walk and security screening absorb more time than most plans allow, and the approach roads into Rust back up on Halloween and holiday weekends. Hotel guests using early entry should be at the gate by 8:00 AM.

How much is parking at Europa-Park and how do you get there?

A visitor car park ticket costs €10.00 per vehicle for the day, and a reserved space at the main entrance costs €32.00. Resort hotel guests park free. Drivers leave the A5 motorway at exit 57b for Rust. By rail, Ringsheim Europa-Park station sits about seven kilometers away, with bus line 7231 covering the last stretch to the entrance.

Do Europa-Park hours change during Halloween and winter?

The opening hour does. Halloween season, September 26 to November 1, 2026, keeps the summer 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. HALLOWinter, from November 2, and the winter season that follows both shift to 11:00 AM until at least 7:00 PM. Crowds change more than the clock does, since the posted schedule is identical on weekdays and weekends.

Why does Europa-Park close so early compared with other parks?

The posted 6:00 PM summer close reflects how the resort splits its business. The theme park runs a nine hour day, and the evening belongs to Rulantica until 10:00 PM, the dinner shows, and Traumatica in autumn. Winter dates close at least 7:00 PM, after dark. Weather can also end a ride's day early, particularly ice and strong wind in winter.
