Millennium Force and Magnum XL-200 sit between them. The distance between those two clusters is the whole planning problem, because the best coasters are the longest walk from the gate.

Two of those ten carry the day. Steel Vengeance and Maverick sit at the far end of the peninsula in Frontier Town, and Top Thrill 2 and Siren’s Curse sit on the Boardwalk near the front. Millennium Force and Magnum XL-200 fall between them. A first time visitor who walks the midway in order will reach the two best coasters last, at exactly the wrong time of day.

The Sections of Cedar Point
Cedar Point does not publish a single consolidated list of named lands the way a Disney or Universal park does. The section names below are the ones the operator uses across its own ride, dining, and family pages, and they are how the park is actually described in signage and directions.
Main Midway
The spine of the park from the main gate, lined with shops and the two biggest sit down restaurants. Raptor sits at the front, and the walk down the midway is where most of the day starts.
Strategy note: Raptor is the closest major coaster to the gate, so it absorbs the first wave. Walk past it and start deeper if you want a short first queue.
The Boardwalk
The Lake Erie frontage, home to Top Thrill 2 and the Cedar Point Grand Pavilion. This is the stretch with the beach view and the widest sightlines in the park.
Strategy note: Top Thrill 2 and Siren’s Curse are both here, so the Boardwalk carries two of the four headline queues at once.
Frontier Town
The far end of the peninsula and the home of Steel Vengeance and Maverick. It is the longest walk from the gate, which is exactly why it is worth doing first.
Strategy note: The two best coasters in the park are the furthest from the entrance. Walking straight here at opening is the single highest value move of the day.
Frontier Trail
The wooded path linking Frontier Town back toward the middle of the park, with craft shops, the Millennium Force exit, and a Panda Express.
Strategy note: The Trail is the shaded route between the two halves of the park, and it is noticeably cooler than the open midways in July and August.
Gemini Midway
The middle stretch that carries Magnum XL-200, Gemini, and the BackBeatQue smokehouse. It is the natural pivot point between the front and the back of the park.
Strategy note: This is the right place to eat, because it is roughly equidistant from both ends and the queues here move faster than the headline coasters.
Camp Snoopy and Planet Snoopy
The two Peanuts themed family areas, with the smallest height requirements in the park and the Cedar Creek Mine Ride nearby.
Strategy note: Height requirements here start at 36 inches, the lowest published anywhere in the park.
Kiddy Kingdom
The classic children’s ride area, and one of the sections included in the 2026 early entry list for resort guests and Prestige passholders.
Strategy note: Select Kiddy Kingdom attractions open an hour early for resort guests, which is the quietest window of the whole day for small children.
Cedar Point Shores
The water park beside the main gate. It runs on its own calendar and requires separate admission, so it is not part of a standard Cedar Point day.
Strategy note: Shores opens later in the season than the main park, on May 23 in 2026.
The shape that matters is simple. The park is a long thin peninsula with one gate. Everything funnels through the Main Midway, spreads across the middle at the Gemini Midway, and ends at Frontier Town. A day that starts at the far end and works back finishes with short walks. A day that starts at the front and works out finishes with a long walk at the tiredest point of the afternoon.
Seasonal Events at Cedar Point in 2026
Cedar Point runs an event calendar rather than a permanent show lineup, and the dates below are the ones the operator has published for 2026. Event dates change the crowd shape more than they change the ride lineup.
A food and drink event running through most of June, before the summer peak sets in.
The park’s Independence Day run, covering the six days around July 4.
A month of evening programming on the lakefront, through the busiest stretch of the summer.
A short September weekend event built around the park’s fry stand.
The autumn event, in its 29th year in 2026. It runs on select dates only, so check the operator calendar before booking a specific weekend.
Fast Lane and Skipping Lines
A single day add on that shortens the wait on a listed set of coasters and flat rides, including Steel Vengeance, Millennium Force, Top Thrill 2, Siren’s Curse, Valravn, GateKeeper, Magnum XL-200, Raptor, Rougarou, Gemini, Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, and Corkscrew. It is not admission, so a park ticket is still required.
The season long version of the same product. The operator lists it as covering the Daily Fast Lane set plus Monster.
Not a separate purchase. It is the marking the operator puts on certain premium attractions inside the Fast Lane list, and Maverick and Millennium Force both carry it.
Morning Strategy and Beating the Lines
Walk to Frontier Town first. Steel Vengeance and Maverick are the two highest demand coasters in the park and they are the furthest from the gate. Most of the opening crowd stops at Raptor, which is the first major coaster on the Main Midway, and that buys the back of the park a genuine quiet window.
Early entry is an hour, and it is specific. Guests staying at Cedar Point resort properties and Prestige passholders get in one hour before posted public opening. For 2026 the operator lists GateKeeper, Siren’s Curse, Millennium Force, Top Thrill 2, Cadillac Cars, Cedar Downs Racing Derby, Iron Dragon, and select Kiddy Kingdom attractions as open in that hour. Note what is not on that list: Steel Vengeance and Maverick are not early entry rides, so the early hour is best spent on the front of the park and the walk back is best saved for the public opening bell.
The causeway is part of the morning. There is one vehicle approach to the peninsula. Arriving thirty minutes earlier than feels necessary is the difference between a short walk and a long one.
Getting to Cedar Point
The park is at 1 Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870, on a peninsula reached across the Cedar Point Causeway. There is one road in and one road out, which is what makes arrival timing matter more here than at a park with several approaches.
Parking is charged separately from admission. Season passes list free general parking as a benefit and the Prestige tier lists limited free preferred parking, which is how the two paid tiers are structured.
Because the causeway is the only vehicle approach, the queue to enter the lot is itself part of the morning. Guests staying at a Cedar Point resort property have the shortest approach of anyone.
The operator publishes the authoritative directions and a support line on its own directions page. Deep Arrival does not restate driving times, because the operator does not publish them.
Dining at Cedar Point
Cedar Point Shores has its own dining, including the Crystal Rock Cafe, but the water park requires separate admission so those venues are not reachable on a standard park ticket.
What Is New at Cedar Point in 2026
The operator has announced no new roller coaster for 2026 on any of its own pages. After Siren’s Curse in 2025 and Top Thrill 2 in 2024, this is a consolidation year, and the additions are events rather than steel.
The 2026 season opens on Saturday, May 9, from 10 AM to 8 PM. Cedar Point Shores, the separate water park, opens two weeks later on May 23.
Corkscrew opened in 1976, which puts it in its 50th season in 2026. The operator has not announced anything to mark it.
Where to Stay at Cedar Point
The historic lakefront hotel, the largest of the on property options and the one with direct beach access.
Cottages, cabins, and RV sites at the tip of the peninsula, the closest thing to camping on property.
The simplest and least expensive of the on property hotels, still inside the early entry benefit.
An indoor water park resort a short drive from the main gate, open outside the main park season.

All five carry the early entry benefit, which is the practical reason to stay on property. Cedar Point Marina is also named among the resort properties receiving early entry.
Height Requirements at Cedar Point
Cedar Point publishes a minimum on every attraction page and on the Safety Guide sign at each ride, and several coasters publish a maximum as well. The practical range is narrow, which makes the planning simple once you know a child’s measured height in shoes.
36 inches is the lowest published minimum in the park, on family rides such as Wilderness Run and Camp Bus. 48 inches opens Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, and Blue Streak. 52 inches opens the four headliners: Top Thrill 2, Steel Vengeance, Valravn, and GateKeeper, and Siren’s Curse from 48 inches. 54 inches is the tallest minimum in the park, on Raptor and Rougarou.
Maximums matter here more than at most parks. Siren’s Curse tops out at 80 inches, and Millennium Force, GateKeeper, Maverick, and Rougarou all publish a 78 inch ceiling. A tall adult can be turned away from rides a shorter one walks onto, so it is worth checking before queueing.

Tickets and Admission
Sold by date, with the price moving by demand. Cedar Point Shores is not included, because the water park sells separate admission and runs its own calendar.
The operator sells tiered passes. The published benefit list is the useful part: the Silver and Gold tiers list free general parking, and the Prestige tier adds limited free preferred parking and early entry.
Included with any Cedar Point resort stay and with the Prestige pass. It is one hour before posted public opening on a specific list of attractions, not the whole park.
Fast Lane, parking below the pass tiers that include it, and Cedar Point Shores admission are all separate from a standard park ticket.
