Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya Goes Adults Only: Plan for Jan 10

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will become an adults-only, all-inclusive resort for guests 18 and older from Sunday 10 January 2027, and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya has moved to an all-inclusive model with a new adults-only section called Ceiba Club, Hilton announced on Thursday 1 October 2026. Families with existing Waldorf Astoria bookings for that date or later are the most affected.

Hilton says it will honour existing reservations under their original terms, except for guests under 18 at Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya arriving on or after 10 January; the resort will help them find alternatives, Upgraded Points reports. Both resorts stay in Hilton Honors.

At a Glance
  • Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya: adults only (18+) and all-inclusive from 10 January 2027.
  • Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya: all-inclusive for all ages now, with adults-only Ceiba Club.
  • Existing bookings: honoured, except under 18s at the Waldorf from 10 January.
  • Transfers: private round-trip airport transfers on eligible direct bookings.
  • Loyalty: both resorts earn and redeem Hilton Honors points.

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya Turns Adults Only

From 10 January 2027, only registered guests aged 18 and over can stay at Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya. Hilton says the all-inclusive stay will include a personal concierge, 24-hour in-room dining, a daily refreshed minibar and, for eligible direct bookings, private round-trip transfers from Cancun airport. Stays of four nights or more include one curated resort experience or excursion.

Dining includes Malpeque, with live-fire cooking, a Mexican cheese cart and tableside carving; Chaya for seasonal paletas and Mexican desserts; JA’O for agave tastings and margaritas; Peacock Alley for breakfast and afternoon tea; and BonbonOm for Mexican coffee.

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya and Ceiba Club

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya remains open to families as a multigenerational all-inclusive resort, with the MYTHOS World kids’ club, while Ceiba Club is a dedicated section for guests 18 and older. Inclusions are similar: 24-hour in-room dining, a refreshed minibar, a dedicated concierge and private round-trip transfers from Cancun and Tulum airports on eligible direct bookings, plus one experience or excursion on stays of four nights or more.

Restaurants include Maratea for Mediterranean sharing plates, Ukai for Japanese food, Kengai for teppanyaki, Ultramar for cocktails and two beach chiringuitos. Ceiba Club guests also get access to Autor, which Hilton describes as Michelin-recognised, and Carbon Restaurant. Activities include cenote visits, the Xel-Há water park and spa treatments.

Conrad Tulum sits on a secluded bay just over an hour from Cancun International Airport, Upgraded Points notes, so the included transfer on direct bookings is worth checking before you compare prices with third party sites. Hilton groups each resort’s activities into themed collections: Restore, Discover, Indulge, Gather and Celebrate at the Waldorf, and Awaken, Explore, Escape, Golden Hour and After Dark at the Conrad.

Existing Reservations and Families

If you have a Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya booking for 10 January 2027 or later that includes anyone under 18, contact the resort or Hilton, which says it will help with alternatives. Conrad Tulum is the natural option within Hilton’s luxury brands in the area for families who still want an all-inclusive stay, since children remain welcome outside Ceiba Club.

Upgraded Points notes that room pricing for both properties was not showing on Hilton’s site on the day of the announcement, so check rates and what your existing booking includes before you travel. Bookings made under the old terms keep those terms, according to Hilton.

Why Hilton Is Expanding All-Inclusive

“Today’s travellers want the freedom and ease of an all-inclusive resort, paired with the distinctive depth, personalisation and sense of place they expect from Hilton’s award-winning luxury brands,” said Sylvia Scholey, vice president and global head of all-inclusive and resorts at Hilton. Other luxury brands are moving the same way in the region, with the forthcoming Park Hyatt Riviera Maya and the Kimpton Tres Ríos all-inclusive, Upgraded Points reports.
