Plan Volaris Nashville Guadalajara Flights From October 15

Volaris will start nonstop flights between Nashville International Airport and Guadalajara on October 15, 2026, the airline’s first Tennessee service. El Universal reports the Nashville route is one of three new Guadalajara to United States city pairs launching that day, with tickets already on sale through the airline’s site and app.

If you are shopping a Mexico trip from Middle Tennessee, the next step is to price the October 15 nonstop on our Volaris airline page against a one-stop itinerary, then add bags and seats before you compare. Ultra-low-cost base fares are not the trip cost.

At a Glance
  • Launch: October 15, 2026, Nashville (BNA) to Guadalajara (GDL), Volaris Tennessee debut.
  • Tickets: On sale now on the Volaris website and app.
  • Airport rank: Guadalajara becomes BNA’s 13th international nonstop destination, according to Nashville airport’s September 10 announcement.
  • Frequency in staff papers: Three flights a week in a September 9 airport board letter reported by WSMV.
  • Same-week Volaris adds: Guadalajara to Raleigh-Durham and Boston also start from October 15.

October 15 Puts Guadalajara on the BNA Map

Nashville airport President and CEO Doug Kreulen said in a September 10 statement that Volaris gives Middle Tennessee a nonstop to one of Mexico’s main cultural and economic hubs, plus connections across the Volaris Guadalajara network. The Tennessean reported that statement and identified Guadalajara as BNA’s 13th international nonstop when service begins in October.

El Universal, citing the same Volaris expansion package, says the three new Guadalajara routes to Raleigh-Durham, Boston, and Nashville all start October 15. Holger Blankenstein, Volaris executive vice president for commercial and operations, said the additions keep the airline as the largest Mexico to United States connector. Jalisco tourism secretary Michelle Fridman Hirsch said the new U.S. cities widen direct access to a core international market.

That is a booking date, not a rumor. The operator already lists Nashville to Guadalajara as a searchable city pair. Confirm the first flight number, aircraft, and local departure time in the cart, because a press date is not a boarding pass.

What the Airport Board Letter Adds

WSMV reported on September 9 that BNA staff asked the airport board to approve up to $2.1 million in landing-fee abatements and marketing incentives for a Volaris Nashville to Guadalajara route. The staff letter described three-times-weekly service beginning on or about October 1, 2026, and warned that withholding the incentive could put the launch at risk.

The public airline announcement the next day used October 15, not October 1. Treat October 15 as the traveler date unless Volaris or BNA publishes a different first flight. The Friday board meeting WSMV flagged is the incentive vote, not the ticket window. Do not wait for a local funding headline to search fares, and do not assume the $2.1 million package is approved until the board says so.

Three-times-weekly is the frequency in that staff letter. If you need a specific weekday pattern, wait for the Volaris timetable rather than inventing a Monday-Wednesday-Friday grid from a board memo.

How to Price a ULCC Mexico Nonstop

Volaris sells a low base fare and charges for the pieces many U.S. travelers treat as included. A carry-on, a checked bag, seat assignment, and airport check-in can each add a line item. Compare the all-in Nashville to Guadalajara total with a one-stop American or Delta itinerary through Dallas, Atlanta, or Mexico City before you celebrate a headline fare.

Passport rules do not change because the flight is nonstop. U.S. citizens still need a valid passport to enter Mexico and to return. Build connection time at Guadalajara if you are continuing on Volaris to another Mexican city. The airline’s Guadalajara hub is the point of the route, according to both Kreulen and Blankenstein, so the useful trip may be Nashville to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, or a beach city via GDL rather than Guadalajara as a final stop.

Do not lean on a third-party “from $90” screenshot. The Tennessean cited a $90 starting fare in its September 10 report. The live Volaris search surface can show a different number depending on date and direction. Use the cart.

Nashville Is New. Atlanta and Dulles Are Moving Up.

The same El Universal package says Volaris also pulled four previously announced routes forward to October 1: Queretaro to Las Vegas, Puebla to Chicago O’Hare, Guadalajara to Washington Dulles, and Guadalajara to Atlanta. Deep Arrival covered the Atlanta and Dulles Guadalajara nonstops in August when those city pairs were mapped for later in the year. The new traveler fact is the date change for those two, plus the new Nashville, Boston, and Raleigh-Durham launches on October 15.

Do not mix the city pairs. A Nashville ticket does not put you on the Atlanta flight. If you live in the Southeast and Guadalajara is the goal, compare BNA on October 15 with ATL on October 1 and RDU on October 16, then pick the airport you can actually reach on the morning of departure.

BNA already has more international nonstops queued after this one. The Tennessean noted Southwest plans for St. Thomas, Montego Bay, Liberia-Guanacaste, and Aruba in February and March 2027. Those are later leisure routes on a different airline. They do not replace a October 15 Volaris Mexico nonstop if your dates are this fall.

BNA Access and the Mexico Connection

Most Middle Tennessee travelers will use Nashville International as the origin, not a nearby alternative. Our BNA and alternatives guide is the place to check drive time if you are coming from Bowling Green, Murfreesboro, or Huntsville and need a backup airport. For this route, the nonstop only exists at BNA.

International arrivals at Guadalajara mean immigration, bags if you checked any, and a possible long walk to a connecting Volaris gate. Budget that time if your Mexico trip is a same-day connection rather than an overnight in Jalisco. If Guadalajara is the destination, the city is a reasonable base for tequila country and central Mexico overland trips, but that is a ground plan, not an airline promise.

Volaris is new to Tennessee, which also means new airport processes: where the airline checks in at BNA, which concourse it uses, and whether overnight aircraft stay on the ground. Those details usually appear on the airport site and in the booking confirmation closer to launch. Recheck them the week of October 15.

Decision Matrix
If you… What to do
Want the first Nashville to Guadalajara nonstop Search Volaris for October 15, 2026, then price bags and seats before you buy.
Live closer to Atlanta or Raleigh-Durham Compare GDL-ATL from October 1 and GDL-RDU from October 16. Those are separate Volaris city pairs.
Need a winter Caribbean nonstop from BNA Wait for the Southwest St. Thomas, Montego Bay, Liberia, and Aruba dates in early 2027. That is not this Volaris route.
Are connecting beyond Guadalajara Leave extra time at GDL and confirm the second flight is on the same ticket.
Planning Impact

October 15, 2026 is the first Nashville to Guadalajara nonstop. Tickets are on sale now. That is the date to search unless Volaris publishes a different first flight.

October 1 is the pulled-forward date for Guadalajara to Atlanta and Dulles. Use that if you are not starting in Nashville.

The BNA incentive vote is not your booking gate. WSMV reported a Friday board item of up to $2.1 million. Watch for the vote result, but the airline already put the city pair on sale.

Frequently Asked

When does Volaris start Nashville to Guadalajara flights?

Volaris and BNA’s September 10 announcement put the first nonstop on October 15, 2026. El Universal reports tickets are already on sale on the airline site and app.

How often will the Nashville flight operate?

A September 9 BNA staff letter reported by WSMV described three-times-weekly service. Confirm weekdays on the Volaris timetable before you lock hotels.

Is this BNA’s first Mexico nonstop?

No. BNA already has Cancun and other Mexico service on other airlines. The Tennessean reported Guadalajara becomes the airport’s 13th international nonstop and Volaris’s Tennessee debut.

Do I need a passport?

Yes. A nonstop does not change Mexico entry rules. Carry a valid passport and price Volaris bags separately from the base fare.
