Sound Transit and Amtrak Cascades both say the 390-space lot at 7301 Longacres Way closes Friday night for maintenance, and leftover vehicles may be towed.
The lot is the shared parking field for Sounder S Line and Amtrak Cascades at this station, not the Link light-rail garage on Tukwila International Boulevard. Trains and ticket machines stay reachable from Longacres Way. The parking stalls do not.

What the two operators actually posted
The Sound Transit Tukwila Sounder lot alert is the owner notice. It closes the parking lot from 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16, and says the lot will reopen before Sounder service begins Monday, August 17.
That same alert is the towing rule. Vehicles remaining after 11:00 p.m. Friday may be towed.
Sound Transit also says signage will point drivers toward other parking stations. The Longacres Way pickup and drop-off area stays open for both train platforms and the ticket machines.
The Tukwila Station page repeats the same upcoming alert and still lists 390 parking spaces. Permit parking is currently suspended at this station, so this is not a reserved-permit exception weekend.
Amtrak Cascades prints a slightly different clock on its homepage service banner. It says the lot closes to vehicles at 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, through 5:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, for parking-lot maintenance, and it warns riders to move cars to avoid a tow.
Those two clocks do not cancel each other. They describe the same closure from two operating calendars. Sounder S Line is a weekday commuter railroad, so Sound Transit dates the reopen to the first Monday train. Cascades runs weekend trips and therefore names a 5:30 a.m. Monday timestamp. Anyone who needs a stall before the first Sounder trip should treat 5:30 a.m. as the earlier published reopen and still recheck both pages Sunday night.
The Amtrak Tukwila station page still describes free Cascades parking in marked spaces. That is the ordinary rule, not this weekend’s maintenance window.
Use the Cascades banner and the Sound Transit alert for August 14 to 17, not the generic station parking sentence.
Who this hits, and who it does not
Weekend Cascades riders who park at Tukwila are the first group. Tukwila is the closest Amtrak Cascades stop to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, about five miles away.
Weekday Sounder S Line riders are the second group if they leave a car overnight Friday. Sound Transit times the reopen to Monday service, so a Friday leftover car can sit through the weekend and be gone.
Pickup and drop-off customers are not locked out. Longacres Way stays open.
The station page puts ticket machines on the ground level near the bus drop-off before the stairs and ramps to the platforms. You can still buy a ticket, meet a rider, or board if someone else is driving.
This is not the Tukwila International Boulevard Link station. That is a different Sound Transit site on the 1 Line, with its own reduced-parking construction notice through September 30.
It is also not a train cancellation. Neither operator says Sounder or Cascades will skip Tukwila this weekend because the lot is closed.
Write the date, the railroad, and whether you need a stall or only a curb. If the date is Friday night through Monday morning and you need a stall at 7301 Longacres Way, change the plan. If you only need a two-minute curb stop, Longacres Way is the published path.
How to reach the platforms without a parked car
Arrive as a passenger, not as a parker. Have someone use the Longacres Way curb, then walk to the ground-level machines and up to the Sounder and Amtrak platforms.
King County Metro RapidRide F Line already stops at the station’s Longacres Way bays. The posted station page lists those stops. It does not name a substitute lot, a shuttle, or a free garage for this weekend.
Do not invent a replacement stall from a bus route that happens to serve the curb.
Sound Transit says signage will guide vehicles to alternate parking stations. It does not name those stations on the opened alert. If you need a stall, pick a different published station before you leave home, then confirm that station’s own alert page.
Airport connectors should treat this as a last-mile rewrite, not a reason to skip the train.
Deep Arrival’s Seattle cruise port to airport page still maps the short ride between the airport and downtown waterfront terminals. It does not create a parking stall at Tukwila this weekend, and it does not replace the Sound Transit alert.
Overnight Cascades parking is the habit this notice breaks. The ordinary Amtrak page still advertises free marked overnight spaces in the southeast corner of the lot. Those spaces sit inside the same 390-stall field that Sound Transit is closing.
Do not mix this with the Cascades bus map
Amtrak Cascades is running a second, larger disruption on the same homepage. A warehouse fire near Portland has forced some Seattle to Portland trains to stop in Vancouver, Washington, or to use replacement buses.
That is a rail map problem, not a Tukwila parking problem.

The two notices can land on the same traveler. A person who planned to park at Tukwila, ride south, and return Sunday night now has a closed lot and, on some trips, a bus instead of a train. That person needs two checks: the parking banner for the car, and the fire alert for the seat. Closing the lot does not fix the Portland track, and opening the lot Monday does not restore every Seattle to Portland train.
Sound Transit also has other August parking notes that are easy to mash together. Tukwila International Boulevard Station has reduced parking through September 30. That is not this lot.
What Monday morning still leaves open
Sound Transit has not published a named alternate lot, a towing contractor, a retrieval phone number, or a fee schedule on the opened alert. If a car is still in the lot after 11:00 p.m. Friday, call Sound Transit rider support at 1-888-889-6368 on Monday rather than guessing a tow yard from a third-party list.
The reopen is the remaining uncertainty. Cascades names 5:30 a.m. Monday. Sound Transit names the start of Monday Sounder service.
Those should be close. They are not printed as the same minute.
A rider who needs a stall at dawn Monday should arrive ready to use Longacres Way if the gate is still shut. Recheck both operator pages Sunday evening.
