TransNusa Opens Bali to Phuket Nonstop Flights September 9

TransNusa will begin nonstop flights between Bali and Phuket on September 9, 2026, creating a direct link between two of Southeast Asia’s busiest island destinations. The Indonesian carrier plans four flights each week in both directions, with tickets already available for sale.

The route can remove a connection for travelers combining Indonesia and Thailand, but the schedule is not daily. The operating days, local time difference, baggage terms and return availability all need to fit before the new flight becomes the simplest choice.

What TransNusa confirmed

The carrier’s July announcement, distributed through ANTARA News, sets the first flight for September 9 and lists service every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. That gives travelers four weekly choices while leaving Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday without a TransNusa nonstop.

Flight 8B541 is scheduled to depart I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali at 8:50 a.m. and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 11:50 a.m. Flight 8B542 is scheduled to leave Phuket at 1:50 p.m. and return to Bali at 6:50 p.m.

Those are local clock times. Phuket is one hour behind Bali, so each scheduled flight takes about four hours even though the outbound arrival clock appears only three hours later.

ANTARA’s Indonesian report separately confirms the September 9 start, four day pattern and starting fare. A same day Periskop report also identifies the start date and says the route will use an Airbus A320.

The route is useful for two destination trips

Bali and Phuket attract many of the same long distance leisure travelers, yet moving between them often requires a connection or careful use of another carrier’s limited nonstop schedule. TransNusa adds another direct choice for travelers who want both islands in one itinerary.

The morning departure from Bali supports an afternoon arrival in Phuket after accounting for immigration, baggage collection and ground transport. The early afternoon return reaches Bali in the evening, which makes it more suitable for ending the travel day than for connecting to a tight same evening departure.

Airport location also belongs in the comparison. Phuket International Airport sits in the island’s north, so a late morning landing can still require substantial road time to Patong, Kata or Phuket Town depending on traffic.

Ngurah Rai Airport serves southern Bali, but road journeys to Ubud, Canggu and more distant resort areas can vary widely. Travelers should price the airport transfer and allow realistic road time rather than treating the published flight arrival as the time they will reach a hotel.
