Trailborn Jackson Hole Opens Ski-In Base at Snow King

Trailborn Jackson Hole is open at the base of Snow King Mountain, converting the former Snow King Resort Hotel into a 203-room, ski-in and ski-out base that now books as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Outdoor Collection.

If you are building a Jackson Hole trip for late summer, fall, or the first ski season under the new brand, the traveler decision is whether this renovated downtown-edge base fits better than a town lodge or a Teton Village stay for your mix of mountain access, spa time, and group space.

What changed at Snow King

According to Hotel Management’s June 2026 opening report, Trailborn Hotels and Resorts reopened the property as Trailborn Jackson Hole with 203 rooms after renovating the long-running Snow King Resort Hotel. The project is the brand’s largest hotel and its first ski-in and ski-out resort.

The official Trailborn Jackson Hole site now sells the stay as a four-season base: gondola access toward Snow King’s 41 runs, gear rental off the lobby, Ember Lily spa, Old Timer Bar and Restaurant, pool and hot tub areas, and gathering spaces such as The Alley-Oop for games and groups.

Mountain Living’s July coverage of the redesign describes a modern mountain-hotel brief rather than a pure condo village product. For travelers, that means hotel services and on-site food and wellness, not a pure self-catering cabin plan.

Bonvoy members should confirm the Outdoor Collection earn and redemption path on the booking engine before assuming standard Bonvoy free-night certificates apply the same way as full-service city hotels. Collection membership widens search visibility; it does not automatically equal every Bonvoy elite benefit.

Who should book Trailborn versus elsewhere in the Hole

Choose Trailborn when you want Snow King under your feet and downtown Jackson still close enough for dinner without a long village shuttle. Families who like bunk rooms, coaster and summer mountain rides, and a hotel spa after a park day fit the product.

Choose Teton Village or a more remote lodge when your priority is Jackson Hole Mountain Resort lift lines first thing, not Snow King. Trailborn is a different mountain system and a different commute math.

Choose a pure downtown boutique when you barely need ski-in logistics and want to walk every meal. Trailborn is near town, not inside the Town Square block.

For park days, the hotel sits as a practical staging base for Grand Teton National Park drives and longer Yellowstone loops, with the tradeoff that wildlife hours still force early alarms no matter where you sleep.

Current packages and room types that change the math

Trailborn is actively selling weekday, romance, and wellness packages on the official site. Weekday Wanderers adds a small market credit for Sunday through Thursday stays. Alpine Romance adds a welcome amenity, Old Timer credit, and late checkout language. Mountain Wellness adds a spa credit at Ember Lily.

Room types matter more than the headline rate. Double Queen and bunk layouts help families. Balcony and mountain-view categories matter if the view is part of why you pay for Snow King base rather than a highway motel.

Ski season is the real capacity test. Gear storage, lobby rental access, and true ski-in convenience will matter more in December than in August, so first-winter dates may price differently once passholders and holiday groups lock inventory.

Summer guests should still recheck Snow King activity hours for the Cowboy Coaster, gondola, and adventure products, because hotel access does not automatically include every mountain ticket.

Summer versus first winter under the new brand

In summer, the value story is mountain recreation without a car for every short hop. Snow King still sells its own lift, coaster, and adventure products, so hotel guests should budget attraction tickets separately unless a package says otherwise.

Pool, hot tub, and spa days become the recovery layer after Grand Teton hikes or a hot town afternoon. That is a different use case from a pure motel night on the highway.

In winter, the same address becomes a logistics product. Ski-in claims only help if your group actually rides Snow King often enough to care. Mixed groups that spend most days at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort may still prefer Teton Village and treat Snow King as an optional night ride.

Holiday and Martin Luther King weekends will reveal real inventory pressure first. If bunk rooms and suites matter to your group, book those categories before the cheap king leftovers look tempting.

On-site dining, spa, and group space details that affect the stay

Old Timer is positioned as the après and dinner anchor with alpine cocktails and a full restaurant menu. That matters for storm nights and family groups that do not want a second car loop into town for every meal.

Ember Lily spa is the brand’s new wellness layer with massage, beauty treatments, steam, hot tubs, and recovery rooms. Package math only works if someone in the party will use the credit; otherwise price the base room against a simpler hotel.

The Alley-Oop gathering space, with games and sports viewing, is aimed at families and small groups. It is useful when you need a wet-weather room that is not the guestroom floor.

Trailborn also points meetings and full-property takeovers toward mountain-view events. That is secondary for leisure readers, but it explains why some peak dates may be held for groups rather than free-sell leisure inventory.

A partner product, Residences at Snow King, appears on the same brand site for longer stays. Do not confuse a hotel room night with a residence booking path when comparing rates.

Trailborn does not invent Jackson Hole demand. It changes the product on a known Snow King site: renovated rooms, a full-service spa, active packages, and Bonvoy Outdoor Collection distribution. Travelers who already liked Snow King proximity finally have a clearer hotel brand to evaluate against downtown and village competitors.
