Tokyo Disney Resort Reveals 2026 Halloween Program

Tokyo Disney Resort has published the detailed program for Disney Halloween 2026, separating the experience at Tokyo Disneyland from the one at Tokyo DisneySea and giving visitors a clearer set of dates, show formats, costume rules, and park specific choices. The seasonal event runs from September 16 through October 31, while several related offerings begin one day earlier or continue into November.

The most important planning point is that full character costumes are not allowed throughout the whole event. Guests may enter in full costume from September 15 through 30 and again from October 16 through 31, but Tokyo Disney Resort asks visitors to refrain from full costumes from October 1 through 15.

The Two Parks Have Different Halloween Priorities

Tokyo Disneyland centers its program on Disney Villains and the returning The Villains Halloween Into the Frenzy parade. The official event page lists a roughly 45 minute production once per day, using six floats and three show stops along the parade route.

The park also brings back Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare from September 15, 2026, through January 7, 2027. That longer operating window matters for visitors who want the attraction overlay but cannot travel during the six week Halloween event itself.

Tokyo DisneySea takes a lighter harbor approach with Disney Halloween Greeting. Mickey Mouse and other characters appear on one boat for a roughly 15 minute program scheduled twice per day, giving visitors more than one possible viewing window but a shorter production than the Disneyland parade.

The official Tokyo DisneySea page also lists Night High Halloween fireworks across both parks. Entertainment remains subject to weather and operating changes, so a published daily schedule closer to the visit should settle exact show times rather than the seasonal overview alone.

Lazos de la Familia Expands at DisneySea

The newly detailed autumn package gives Lazos de la Familia a larger footprint in Tokyo DisneySea’s Lost River Delta from September 16 through November 2. Oriental Land says the Coco themed program expands beyond its prior presentation with marigold decorations, live mariachi entertainment, a Miguel greeting, food, and merchandise.

The dates extend two days beyond Disney Halloween, which creates a small but useful planning distinction. A November 1 or 2 DisneySea visit can still encounter Lazos de la Familia even though the resort wide Halloween event ends October 31.

The program also changes through the day. Official material says Miguel appears in clothing associated with the land of the living earlier and in clothing associated with the land of the dead later, so visitors interested in the greeting should check the current app schedule after entering the park.

Costume Dates Need Careful Booking

The resort’s official costume rules allow full character costumes during two separate windows. September 15 through 30 is the first window, October 16 through 31 is the second, and the October 1 through 15 gap is specifically excluded.

Those dates were disclosed earlier in the year and reported by Travel Watch, so the new July package should not be read as a first announcement of the windows. The current update adds the fuller seasonal program, operational detail, changing facility information, and a July 14 correction to the Ikspiari cinema screening dates.

Guests cannot use park restrooms, locker areas, or other public facilities to change or apply makeup. Tokyo Disney Resort directs visitors to dress at home or at their hotel, while a paid changing space at the Garden Site on the first floor of Ikspiari is planned for approved costume dates.

The Ikspiari facility will open from 8 am to 10 pm, with last admission at 9:30 pm, and reservations will be required. The resort says the reservation start date and additional facility details should arrive around early August, making that announcement a future checkpoint for costume visitors.

What Counts as an Allowed Costume

Eligible costumes include Disney characters appearing in the parks, attractions, or Disney hotels, performers from current or past park entertainment, and characters from works distributed by the Walt Disney Company when included on the resort’s approved list. Guests may add original touches only while remaining within those categories.

Cast member costumes are prohibited for visitors older than 11, and objects such as merchandise, menu items, buildings, and decorations do not count as characters. Full face coverings, makeup that hides the face, items that could cause harm, and props that interfere with attractions, shows, shopping, or dining can result in removal or refused entry.

Costume inspection may add time at the entrance. A guest whose outfit could harm, upset, or obstruct others may be asked to change behavior, remove an item, or leave, so a technically creative costume still needs to work in a crowded operating park.

During the October blackout, visitors may wear an everyday outfit inspired by a character’s colors or general aesthetic. The resort says dresses, wigs, and manufactured costumes designed to portray a specific character should not be used during that excluded period.

Other Dates Around the Program

Special food and merchandise begins September 15, one day before the main event. Tokyo Disneyland lists a Villains inspired food range and parade themed products, while Tokyo DisneySea includes Halloween items alongside its anniversary atmosphere and the expanded Coco program.

Tokyo Disneyland’s seasonal page was corrected on July 14 to move a special Ikspiari cinema run of The Nightmare Before Christmas to October 9 through November 5. Visitors who saw the original September 18 through October 15 dates should use the corrected period.

A new stage show, The D Groovationz4 Live Happy Funky Groovy Tour, starts September 30 at Tokyo Disneyland. It is not labeled as the main Halloween parade, but its arrival during the seasonal period gives late September and October visitors another dated entertainment change to consider.
