The Clara Hotel has opened in Plano after a complete transformation of the former NYLO property, giving travelers a newly finished hotel product in the Legacy corridor. The July 15 opening replaces an earlier future opening window with a current stay option that is now presented on both the hotel site and Hilton’s booking system.

The 176 room hotel remains part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, but the new identity reaches guest rooms, public spaces, dining, events and the outdoor courtyard. Travelers comparing older NYLO reviews with current Clara listings should treat the opening as a broad reset, while still checking the exact room, rate and policy attached to their dates.

The Opening Completes a Full Property Transformation

The Clara is not a newly built hotel. NewcrestImage acquired the former NYLO property in August 2025 and rebuilt its guest facing identity around warmer materials, natural textures, greenery and softer finishes, replacing much of the building’s earlier industrial presentation.

A March announcement distributed by NewcrestImage described the project as a complete brand and design transformation, while Boutique Hotelier’s July 15 report independently confirms that the hotel has now opened. That distinction matters because the earlier material described a plan, while the current report and live booking surfaces show a finished operating property.

The hotel stays at 8201 Preston Road in Plano and continues its Tapestry Collection affiliation. Hilton’s current Clara property page lists 176 rooms, five floors and one restaurant, giving travelers a direct operator record that matches the opening coverage.

Rooms Retain Loft Scale With a New Design Direction

The transformation covers all bedrooms and public spaces rather than a lobby only refresh. The inventory includes standard rooms and eight specialty suites, and the operator continues to market the high ceilings and large window areas that made the former property visually distinctive.

The practical comparison is not simply old hotel against new hotel. Travelers should compare the current room photos and category details with reviews from after the opening, because older photos may accurately show the building’s proportions while no longer representing the finishes, furniture or wider atmosphere now sold under the Clara name.

Field and Vine Replaces the Former Dining Identity

Field and Vine is the hotel’s new restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner in a space built around seasonal American cooking. The current restaurant page lists weekday breakfast from 6 to 10, weekend breakfast from 7 to 10, dinner from 4 to 10 and bar service until 11.

Those hours give guests an on site option at the start and end of the day, but they do not create a full lunch schedule. A traveler who expects to work from the hotel between meetings should plan around the published meal periods and check whether current menus, private events or seasonal changes affect service.

Hilton currently describes breakfast as available for a fee. That makes the exact booking terms important for guests accustomed to a complimentary hotel breakfast, especially when comparing a standard rate with a package or an elite benefit that may apply only under specific conditions.

Archer Adds a Reservation Only Evening Venue

Archer gives the property a separate evening product rather than treating the restaurant bar as the only nightlife option. The hotel’s current lounge page lists Friday and Saturday service from 8 at night to 1 in the morning and identifies the room as reservation only.

The lounge is designed around cocktails and a quieter late evening atmosphere. Guests who want to use it should reserve before arrival and avoid assuming that a hotel room automatically provides access, since the published schedule is limited and larger groups are directed to the sales team.

Field and Vine and Archer also make the property relevant to local visitors, not only overnight guests. That can add energy to the hotel, but it can also change parking and public space demand on busy evenings, so travelers seeking a quieter stay should consider their arrival time and room placement.

The Courtyard, Pool and Meeting Spaces Broaden the Stay

The redesign refreshes a 4,000 square foot outdoor courtyard with new landscaping and flexible seating. The heated outdoor pool remains part of the property, while the current Hilton listing also confirms a fitness center and meeting rooms.

NewcrestImage’s project description identified several indoor rooms for meetings and small gatherings, along with space for larger courtyard events. Travelers attending a conference or celebration should verify the actual event footprint, since a private booking can change how much of the courtyard or adjacent public area is available during a stay.

Hilton lists seven meeting venues through the hotel’s current event pages, along with WiFi, audiovisual support and planning services. Event buyers should request the current capacity chart and contract rather than relying on an older NYLO floor plan, because the brand change includes redesigned gathering spaces and a different food and beverage program.

The Plano Location Favors North Dallas and Frisco Plans

The Clara sits in Plano’s Legacy corridor near Legacy West, The Shops at Legacy and the Boardwalk at Granite Park. Hilton places those areas within about five minutes of the hotel and lists The Star in Frisco at roughly four miles, making the property more natural for North Dallas and Frisco plans than for a trip centered entirely on downtown Dallas.
