Thai Airways will launch twice-daily flights between Bangkok and Da Nang, Vietnam on December 1, 2026, and will double its Bangkok to Paris service to twice daily from the same date. The additions are part of the airline’s winter 2026/27 schedule, which runs from October 25, 2026 to March 27, 2027 and covers 66 routes, with more flights to Munich, Zurich, Hong Kong, Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur and a new seasonal route to Gaya in India.
For travelers, the changes mean more choice through Bangkok this winter. Da Nang, the beach city that is also the gateway to Hoi An, gains a direct link to Thailand’s main hub, and travelers from Europe get more departures and connection times on three routes. Fares and flight times were not given in the reports we reviewed, so check the airline’s booking site for your dates.
A connection through Bangkok is also a chance for a stopover, and our Bangkok National Museum visitor guide is a good place to start if you have a day in the city.
- Bangkok to Da Nang: twice daily from December 1, 2026.
- Paris: twice daily from December 1, 2026.
- Munich: 10 weekly flights from December 16, 2026.
- Zurich: 11 weekly flights from January 16, 2027.
- Winter season: October 25, 2026 to March 27, 2027, 66 routes.
New Routes to Da Nang and Gaya
TTR Weekly, reporting on Thai Airways’ winter schedule announcement, said the Da Nang flights begin on December 1 with two flights a day on an Airbus A320 with 156 seats. It also reported a new daily seasonal route to Gaya, India, the airport for the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Bodh Gaya, from October 25, 2026 to March 31, 2027, also on a 156-seat A320.
TTG Asia, reporting on September 22, put the Da Nang service at 14 weekly flights and said Thai will also resume flights to Xiamen, China with four a week. It reported a total of 998 weekly flights across the 66 routes over the winter.
More Flights to Paris, Munich and Zurich
Europe gets the largest long-haul increases. Nation Thailand, reporting on September 3, said Paris doubles from seven to 14 weekly flights from December 1, Munich rises from seven to 10 weekly from December 16, and Zurich rises from seven to 11 weekly from January 16, 2027. It said London, Frankfurt, Oslo, Copenhagen, Milan and Brussels continue with between seven and 14 weekly flights.
For travelers starting in Europe, more frequencies usually mean more choice of departure times and onward connections in Bangkok. For US travelers, the added Europe flights matter mainly if you are building a trip that combines Europe and Southeast Asia.
Regional Increases in Asia
In the region, Nation Thailand reported that Hong Kong rises from 28 to 35 weekly flights from December 1, Kuala Lumpur from 14 to 21 weekly, and Vientiane and Hanoi each to 21 weekly from the same date. TTR Weekly described these as five daily flights to Hong Kong and three daily to Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur. TTG Asia reported that Yangon also rises to 21 weekly and Siem Reap to seven.
At home, TTR Weekly said Thai keeps up to nine daily flights on busy routes such as Bangkok to Phuket and Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Nation Thailand reported that Chiang Mai drops to 49 weekly flights from February 1, 2027.

The Bangkok Hub Strategy Behind the Schedule
TTG Asia reported that the expansion is part of a push to build Suvarnabhumi as a connecting hub, linking regional flights with long-haul traffic rather than relying only on point-to-point travel. Chief Commercial Officer Kittiphong Sansomboon told the publication that a hub’s value lies in its ability to connect traffic onward. The regional feed runs on Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft, with India alone accounting for about 98 weekly flights, according to TTG Asia.
