Symphony of the Seas Opens CocoCay Weeks From Galveston

Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas now has a live 8-night product from Galveston that reaches Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, not only Mexico and Roatán.

That is the current booking question for Texas Gulf Coast shoppers. If the Bahamas is the reason to sail this ship, the live CocoCay week is the product to open before late October 2026, when Cruise Industry News says the rotation is set to end.

What the live Royal itinerary actually shows

The official 8-night Perfect Day CocoCay and Caribbean page is a current Royal Caribbean product page for Symphony of the Seas from Galveston, Texas.

The opened itinerary is specific. Galveston, two days at sea, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Nassau, a day at sea, Cozumel, another day at sea, then Galveston again. That sequence is the whole point of this card. A Gulf Coast Oasis-class week that used to mean Mexico and Honduras can now spend a day on Royal’s private island and a day in the Bahamian capital before it turns back toward Cozumel.

Royal still warns that ports can change for weather, safety, or operations. The page also tells guests to review travel documents for every destination on the sailing, which here means the United States, the Bahamas, and Mexico on the same ticket.

Deep Arrival’s Symphony of the Seas ship guide already listed 8-night CocoCay variants on the Galveston schedule. The news is that the official product is live now, with CocoCay and Nassau printed on the same week.

What changed from the usual Western Caribbean week

Cruise Industry News reported on Aug. 13, 2026, that Symphony added Bahamas itineraries in July after a run of 7-night Western Caribbean cruises. The ship still sails year round from Galveston. The change is the mix, not the homeport. That is why a Texas shopper can keep the same ship and still get a different trip.

The live 7-night Western Caribbean page is the contrast. That week leaves Galveston, spends two days at sea, then calls Puerto Costa Maya, Roatán, and Cozumel before one more sea day and the Texas return.

There is no CocoCay stop and no Nassau call on that official overview.

Cruise Industry News says the ship is now alternating six-night and eight-night itineraries through late October 2026, then returning to those 7-night Western Caribbean weeks. The 7-night page is the cleanest official picture of that later loop: Costa Maya, Roatán, and Cozumel, with no Bahamas day.

The same report puts Symphony at 5,580 passengers and notes that some Bahamas weeks also include Nassau. The live 8-night CocoCay and Caribbean page is the version that prints Nassau after CocoCay.

The other 8-night is not the same trip

Royal also has a second 8-night product from Galveston on the same ship: Western Caribbean and Perfect Day.

That week still starts with two sea days and CocoCay. It then skips Nassau, adds Puerto Costa Maya, and keeps Cozumel.

If the search is “Can I reach CocoCay from Texas on Symphony,” both 8-night pages answer yes. If the search is “Can I get CocoCay and Nassau on the same week,” only the Perfect Day CocoCay and Caribbean product does that in the official overviews opened for this report.

That distinction matters because CocoCay and Nassau are not interchangeable days. CocoCay is Royal’s private island, with the line’s own slides, pool, and cabana product. Nassau is a public capital call, with a separate Royal Beach Club day pass on Paradise Island if you want the line’s enclosed beach day instead of a regular port afternoon.

The official Nassau block on the CocoCay and Caribbean page says the Royal Beach Club is a Royal exclusive and that a day pass is required. Admission is described as two day-pass types: unlimited open bar, dining, and Wi-Fi, or unlimited non-alcoholic drinks, dining, and Wi-Fi. That is an extra purchase, not a hidden inclusion in the cruise fare.

A family that wants the island day and a downtown Nassau walk can ignore the beach club. A group that wants another controlled Royal beach day should price the pass first.

The late October fork

Cruise Industry News is the source for the clock. It says Symphony will keep the alternating six-night and eight-night Bahamas mix through late October 2026, then resume 7-night Western Caribbean cruises.

The official 8-night CocoCay page does not print that end date in the opened HTML. Do not invent a last sailing. Treat late October as a planning fence from the trade report, then confirm the live Royal calendar before paying a deposit.

That fork is the traveler decision. If CocoCay or Nassau is the reason to pick Symphony from Galveston, hold the current 8-night product now. Do not assume the same mix will still be on sale in November.

Start with the named ports, not the word “Caribbean” in the product title. All three official pages use that word. Only one of them prints both CocoCay and Nassau.

Choose the 8-night Perfect Day CocoCay and Caribbean week if the Bahamas is the point and you can use eight nights. You get the private island, the Nassau call, and one Mexico day in Cozumel, with four sea days wrapped around those calls.

Choose the 8-night Western Caribbean and Perfect Day week if CocoCay is required but Nassau is not, and you still want Costa Maya plus Cozumel. That is the hybrid for a shopper who wants the island day without giving up a second Mexico call.

Choose the 7-night Western Caribbean week if you want a shorter trip, a Roatán day, and no Bahamas logistics. That week is also the cleanest preview of what Cruise Industry News says returns after late October.

Decide the ports before you compare fares. An extra night is not better if it is only a sea day you did not want.

A U.S. passport is the clean answer for that mix. Do not assume a birth certificate that worked on a closed-loop Mexico week is enough once Nassau is on the ticket.

The third check is the Nassau day. If you want Royal Beach Club, price the day pass and treat it as optional, not part of the cruise fare.

CocoCay is simpler on paper. Beverage and Wi-Fi packages purchased for the cruise extend to the island, according to the official itinerary. That perk does not make cabanas or island extras free.
