SeaDream III Reservations Open for 2029 Debut

SeaDream Yacht Club opened reservations on September 1, 2026, for SeaDream III, the Palm Beach luxury line’s first new yacht in 25 years. The official announcement sets a July 10, 2029, maiden departure from Hong Kong, a July 21 christening in Tokyo, and a first two years that reach 364 ports on six continents.

The traveler decision is no longer whether a third SeaDream yacht is coming. It is which chapter to hold: the 2029 Japan and Korea season, later Great Lakes and West Palm Beach calls, or the January 5, 2031, 180-night world voyage. What opened on September 1

In a September 1 Palm Beach release, SeaDream said SeaDream III is the first new yacht to join the fleet in the company’s 25-year history and that reservations for inaugural voyages opened the same day. Founder and owner Atle Brynestad framed the ship as the next chapter, not a change of identity: personalized service, informal evenings, and the feeling of being on a private yacht, with the world as the new destination list.

Cruise Fever independently reported the same booking-day trigger, 200-guest capacity, three watersports marinas, and the July 10, 2029, Hong Kong start. That second account matters because the load-bearing dates now sit on two distinct domains, not a single press page.

Cabins are on sale years before the first boarding pass. That is normal for a newbuild, but it changes the money decision: deposits will sit longer than a typical 2026 or 2027 cruise, and itinerary fine print can still move before 2029. Ask any advisor for the change, cancellation, and final-payment rules before treating a held cabin as locked.

How SeaDream III differs from the twin yachts

SeaDream I and SeaDream II still run seven- to 15-day Caribbean, Mediterranean, Norway, and Northern Europe voyages. SeaDream III is described as about 151 meters, or 495 feet, with around 200 guests and a crew of nearly equal number. That is a larger yacht, not a jump into the 1,000-guest luxury-liner bracket.

Accommodations will span five decks and include a wider mix of suites, Commodore staterooms, and connecting layouts, with private balconies across four guest decks. That balcony line is the clearest product change in the launch materials, and it is the reason to compare SeaDream III against the current twins instead of assuming the same cabin style.

Open-air living is the design brief: expansive upper decks, a dedicated pool deck, indoor and al fresco dining, and three dedicated watersports marinas. The line also promises expanded spa, fitness, and wellness space. Those amenities are still renderings, so do not book on a specific restaurant name, treatment menu, or marina toy list that the release does not publish.

Brynestad’s second quoted line is the useful caution. SeaDream says the ship is not being built for size as a trophy. The test for a buyer is whether 200 guests still feels like yachting once the extra suites, pool deck, and global deployment are in the water.

The July 2029 Asia opening season

The maiden voyage leaves Hong Kong on July 10, 2029, and spends 10 nights working through the Ryukyu Islands and Japan’s Pacific coast before the Tokyo christening on July 21. SeaDream names extended stays in Ishigaki and Yakushima, plus calls in Okinawa, Amami Oshima, Kochi, and Shimizu. After the christening, the first season stays in Japan and South Korea. During the first 24 months SeaDream III is scheduled to visit six continents, 73 countries, and 364 ports. In 2030 the yacht is slated to sail west from Asia to India, the Arabian Peninsula, and the Mediterranean, then arrive in London before the British Isles, the Baltic, coastal Norway, Svalbard, Greenland, and Iceland.

The U.S. and Canada chapter is the sleeper value for domestic readers. After the North Atlantic, the yacht is planned to continue through the St. Lawrence into the Great Lakes, with named calls in Montreal, Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit, plus Georgian Bay, Lake Superior, the Niagara Peninsula, and Prince Edward County. On January 5, 2031, SeaDream III is scheduled to leave West Palm Beach on a 180-night world voyage to London, finishing July 5, 2031. The published arc transits the Panama Canal, follows South America’s Pacific coast through Ecuador, Peru, and Chile, then crosses the South Pacific by Easter Island, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, Fiji, and Vanuatu before Australia, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia.

The second half continues through the Indian Ocean, Suez Canal, Mediterranean, and Europe’s Atlantic coast into London. That is a half-year commitment. Segment availability is not spelled out, so do not assume you can buy only the Panama or only the Suez chapter until SeaDream publishes segments.
