Princess Cruises stopped taking new bookings through its Taiwan branch on August 31, 2026, after the local Carnival Taiwan office closed its website, social channels, and sales desk. The official notice still supports people who already hold reservations and sends new customers to Princess.com, which is a booking-channel change rather than an automatic cancellation of ships calling at Keelung or Kaohsiung this year.

Travelers now need a clean split between a reservation they already have and a Princess trip they have not booked yet. Port and maritime officials separately told reporters that remaining 2026 Taiwan calls are still expected to operate, while 2027 and 2028 deployments remain under discussion.

The controlling notice, published in full by United Daily News, is narrower than some market-exit headlines. It says the website, social platforms, and local sales work of Carnival Taiwan, the English-registered Carnival travel agency’s Taiwan branch, stopped on August 31, 2026.

From that date, the branch no longer accepts new reservations through the local operating unit. The same notice tells customers to use Princess.com for future itineraries, offers, and new bookings, and it lists [email protected] for further help.

Taiwan News independently reported the same close, linking the company’s Facebook announcement and confirming that existing reservations stay in place. Princess entered the Taiwan market through a local branch in 2013 and once used Keelung as a home port for regional trips to Okinawa, Ishigaki, and South Korea.

He also noted that more cruise lines made maiden calls at Keelung and Kaohsiung in 2026, which the ports team wants to keep expanding. A follow-up CNA report quoted Rao saying Princess now visits Taiwan as a port of call rather than a home port, with 14 Keelung calls planned this year and three still ahead.

Those remaining calls, Rao said, are not being canceled because the Taiwan subsidiary travel agency closed. Tourism Administration deputy director Huang Ho-ting said the sales change could still influence later itinerary planning, even while some ships continue to call at Keelung and Kaohsiung.
