Philippine Airlines is putting a nonstop between Cebu and Guam back in the schedule for the holidays, and only for the holidays. Six departures each way, spread across three weeks, on an Airbus A321.
From Guam the flights go on December 18, 24 and 25, 2026 and January 3, 4 and 7, 2027. That is the entire offer. Our Cebu guide covers the other end, but the dates below decide whether the trip is possible at all.
- Season: December 17, 2026 through January 7, 2027.
- From Cebu: December 17, 23 and 24, then January 2, 3 and 6. PR120 leaves at 21:40 and lands in Guam at 03:25 the next morning.
- From Guam: December 18, 24 and 25, then January 3, 4 and 7. PR121 leaves at 04:55 and lands in Cebu at 06:30.
- Aircraft: Airbus A321.
- The rest of the year: Guam to Manila daily, with a domestic connection onward to Cebu.
Six Dates Is Not a Route, It Is a Window
Most seasonal services still give you a weekly pattern to plan against. This one gives you six specific days in each direction and nothing in between.
The gaps are uneven, too. Out of Guam the flights cluster on December 24 and 25, then jump to January 3. If your plan was to leave Guam a few days after Christmas and come back before New Year, the schedule does not contain that trip.
The schedule filing lists the Cebu departures, with the Guam return operating the following day each time. Public Radio Guam reported the same six dates from the airline’s release on September 13.
Both Legs Are Overnights
PR120 pushes back from Cebu at 21:40 and arrives in Guam at 03:25 the next morning. PR121 leaves Guam at 04:55 and is on the ground in Cebu at 06:30.
Neither of those is a civilised hour, and that is a deliberate trade. A red-eye lets one aircraft turn overnight and still be back in the Philippine domestic network by breakfast, which is how a route this thin gets flown at all.
Plan the arrival day as a write-off in both directions, and do not book anything in Cebu that starts before mid morning on the day you land.
What It Replaces Is a Connection Through Manila
Guam already has a daily Philippine Airlines flight, but it goes to Manila. Reaching Cebu from Guam outside these dates means Manila plus a domestic hop, with the bag transfer and the extra failure point that implies.
The nonstop removes that. On six days it turns a connecting itinerary into a single flight for the Guam community travelling to the Visayas for Christmas and New Year, which is what this service exists for.
The airline is also adding Cebu to Iloilo flying on selected peak dates, which is aimed at exactly the same traffic: Guam to Iloilo, connecting at Cebu rather than Manila.
Guam is a United States territory, so for a traveler starting there this is a domestic departure into an international arrival, with the onward Philippine domestic network sitting immediately behind Cebu. That combination is why a three week nonstop can fill at all.
Book It Early or Do Not Plan On It
Six dates on a single narrowbody is a small number of seats against a fixed holiday demand that does not move.
There is no published fare, no indication of how the inventory is split between the two directions, and no second carrier on the nonstop to fall back on. If these dates work for your trip, they will not sit unsold, and the Manila routing is the alternative rather than a later Cebu nonstop.
The carrier has been moving metal around elsewhere this month too, including mixing A350-1000s with 777s at San Francisco. The Guam nonstop is the opposite end of that network: one aircraft, six dates, a community route rather than a flagship.
It is also worth watching whether the service returns next winter. The filing describes a resumption rather than a launch, which suggests this is becoming a seasonal fixture, but nothing beyond January 7 has been published.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Are flying Guam to Cebu for Christmas | December 18, 24 or 25 are the only nonstop dates out of Guam. Everything else routes through Manila. |
| Want to return to Guam after New Year | January 2, 3 or 6 from Cebu, arriving Guam the following morning. |
| Need a date between December 26 and January 1 | There is no nonstop. Price the daily Manila service with a domestic connection. |
| Are heading to Iloilo | Philippine Airlines is adding Cebu to Iloilo flying on selected peak dates to feed exactly this traffic. |
The dates are the product. Six departures each way over three weeks. Build the trip around them rather than fitting them into a trip.
Two red-eyes per round trip. Arriving at 03:25 in Guam and 06:30 in Cebu, both directions cost you the day you land.
Nothing published past January 7, 2027. Treat the nonstop as a holiday window, not as a route you can plan around later in the year.
