Royal Caribbean is adding a third Australia ship for 2027-28: amplified Ovation of the Seas from Brisbane starting November 2027. The official press release is the live deployment sheet.

What Royal Caribbean actually added
The August 12 release makes Ovation the new Brisbane ship. It will offer 3- to 8-night cruises after the ship’s 2026 amplification, including a revamped pool deck, Splashaway Bay, private casitas, and new restaurants.
Two of those Brisbane itineraries are four-night getaways to Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays. That is a short-break product, not a two-week South Pacific crossing.
Anthem of the Seas stays in Sydney. Do not treat the new Ovation news as a replacement for Anthem. It is a third hull.
Voyager of the Seas will not sit in one port all season. The plan starts in Brisbane from October through December 2027 with seven sailings of 2 to 11 nights, then a two-night repositioning to Sydney.
From Sydney, Voyager offers five new cruises, including New Zealand. In January 2028 it moves to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, which means five homeports on one deployment.
Navigator of the Seas stays in Singapore longer than first announced. The ship was already due in Asia in October 2026. The new plan keeps it there through October 2027, a full year of 2- to 5-night Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand cruises plus one 12-night Tokyo-to-Singapore sailing.

Who should book August 18, and who should wait
If you want Ovation from Brisbane, or Navigator from Singapore, be ready on August 18. Those are the two sale dates the line named first.
If you want Voyager from Brisbane, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, or Tokyo, wait until August 25. Buying the wrong ship on August 18 does not reserve a Voyager cabin.
Compare Brisbane Ovation against Sydney Anthem before you pay. A Queensland homeport saves a Sydney hotel night only if you already fly into Brisbane. A New South Wales guest may still want Anthem.
The 4-night Whitsundays pair is the test for short-break travelers. If you cannot take a midweek or long-weekend block in late 2027, skip those two dates and look at the 7- and 8-night Ovation set.

If you already hold an Australia or Asia booking
The reshuffle is already cancelling some existing sailings. Royal Caribbean Blog published a guest email for Navigator’s May 12, 2027 cruise. The line said the ship is being redeployed for scheduling, port agreements, and other operational reasons, and that sailing is no longer available.
That email offered a move onto Voyager of the Seas or Serenade of the Seas in a like-for-like stateroom at the prevailing rate. Non-refundable deposit change fees were waived.
Onboard credit was offered as a rebook incentive. Suites or balconies on a replacement of six nights or longer were quoted at 100 dollars per room. Interior or ocean-view rooms were quoted at 50 dollars.
On replacements of five nights or less, those credits dropped to 50 dollars and 25 dollars. Treat those numbers as the email Royal Caribbean Blog showed, not as a public tariff for every cancelled cruise.
If you hold any Australia or Asia sailing in this window, watch for a line or travel-agent email. Do not assume your date is safe because it is not May 12, 2027. Do not assume every cancelled guest gets the same credit.
If you do not yet hold a booking, the cancellation wave is a reason to wait for the live August 18 inventory, not a reason to invent a panic purchase.
How to test a date before you pay
On August 18, open Royal Caribbean’s Australia and Singapore search and write down three things: the ship, the homeport, and the night count. If Ovation Brisbane is missing from the calendar, the sale has not opened or the date is not in the set.
Price the same week on Anthem from Sydney. A cheaper Sydney fare plus a hotel can beat a Brisbane Ovation fare if your flights land in New South Wales.
Do not transfer miles or buy nonrefundable air until the cruise confirmation shows the ship and date you wanted. Offer pages change between announcement and sale.
If you already hold a cancelled Navigator date, ask the agent to email the replacement fare, the onboard credit, and whether the deposit fee is waived. A verbal like-for-like promise is weaker than a written booking.
August 18 is a Tuesday. Do not start a booking at 11:50 p.m. and hope the cart holds. Finish in the time zone printed on the confirmation.
What this does not change
This is not a 2026 Australia sailing change. Ovation’s Brisbane homeport begins November 2027. You cannot use this announcement to board Ovation in Queensland next month.
This is not a Hero of the Seas or Freedom-class story. Those ships are not the Brisbane 2027-28 set. Keep them off this booking list.
This is not a Lelepa or Royal Beach Club ticket. The press release is about ship homeports and sale dates. A private-island product is a different purchase.
If you do not want Australia or Asia in late 2027 or early 2028, do nothing. This window does not change Caribbean, Alaska, or Europe inventory.
A worked check looks like this. Decide whether you fly into Brisbane or Sydney. On August 18, search Ovation Brisbane and Anthem Sydney for the same week. Write the fare, the night count, and whether a four-night Whitsundays date appears. Book only if that ship and port match the trip you already wanted.
