Novotel Bhubaneswar Planning After the Sept. 23 Opening

Accor inaugurated Novotel Bhubaneswar Janpath on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, putting a 118-room, five-star Novotel on the group’s live booking site in Odisha’s capital. The New Indian Express reported that Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida opened the hotel, Accor’s first property in the city, with Accor vice-president Vineet Mishra saying the group wants to expand further in the state.

The traveler decision is whether to book this branded stay on Janpath for a Bhubaneswar business trip, temple visit, or event, now that rooms, dining, and a 2 p.m. check-in are listed as open. The New Indian Express dated its report Sept. 24 and described a Wednesday inauguration attended by Odisha’s deputy chief minister. That ceremony is the public start of Accor’s branded presence in Bhubaneswar. Do not confuse the ribbon-cutting with a future opening date. If Accor is showing available rooms for a given night, that night is bookable at the rate on screen.

General manager Neelabh Sahay, named on both the Accor page and in the Express report, said the hotel is aimed at business, leisure, and family stays. Dining is three named outlets. Food Exchange is the all-day restaurant. E2O East Essence is the Pan-Asian restaurant and bar. Tea and Tonic is the social bar, described as quieter by day and busier at night. The Express also flagged those three names. If you need a specific cuisine on a short stay, confirm hours in the Accor app after you book. Do not assume a 24-hour kitchen from the all-day label alone.

Meetings and weddings are a real use of this building. Accor cites more than 1,050 square meters of banquet space. The Express put the social and event area at about 12,000 square feet. Either figure is large enough for a corporate offsite or a wedding that would previously have defaulted to an unbranded banquet hall in the capital. Ask the hotel for a current floor plan before you sign a group contract; the public page does not publish a seating chart.

Janpath Location Versus Airport, Station, and Lingaraj Temple

Janpath is a central Bhubaneswar artery. Accor markets easy access to business districts, shopping, and local attractions. Independent coverage places the hotel near Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Kalinga Stadium, and Lingaraj Temple. Those are the four points most visitors actually sequence: fly in, sleep, work or watch sport, then visit the temple city core.

Build transfer time into the 2 p.m. check-in. A morning arrival from Delhi or Hyderabad can land well before rooms are ready. Use the pool, fitness room, or Tea and Tonic as the buffer, or ask Accor about a paid early check-in when you book. Evening temple visits and late flights out are easier if you treat noon checkout as a hard stop and pre-book the airport car with the hotel, which lists private-transfer pricing as on request rather than as a fixed menu.

Non-Hindus and casual visitors should still confirm Lingaraj Temple access rules on the day, because inner-sanctum limits are a temple policy, not a hotel amenity. The hotel does not control the shrine. It only sits in the same city. If your only reason for Bhubaneswar is the temple, a Janpath stay is about reducing auto-rickshaw time, not about a temple-view room. Accor does not advertise shrine views on the public room list.

For Accor watchers, this opening sits in the same year as other new-market hotels in South Asia. Those are separate cities and separate brands. The only shared traveler lever is the ALL account.
