The cheapest way onto TUI’s newest ship this winter is a three night run from Kiel to Hamburg on 6 December, calling at Copenhagen for the Christmas markets, at 499 euros a person. Cruise Industry News set out the full winter programme on 17 September.
Mein Schiff Flow joined the TUI Cruises fleet in June 2026 and has spent its first summer in the Mediterranean, so this is the season that puts it in northern Europe. The short opener is the one worth understanding first, because it is the only sailing in the programme that is not roundtrip and the only one that starts from Kiel rather than Hamburg.
- The opener: Hygge Moments in Copenhagen, 6 to 9 December 2026, three nights, Kiel to Hamburg, from 499 euros a person.
- Seven night options: Norway’s west coast with Aurlandsfjord, or London, Paris, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam, both roundtrip Hamburg.
- Christmas and New Year: eleven nights roundtrip Hamburg, with New Year’s Eve in the port for Paris.
- January: Timeless Canaries, 3 to 22 January 2027, nineteen nights, from 2,899 euros a person.
- Transatlantic: Germany to the Caribbean, 22 January to 27 February 2027, thirty six days, from 6,199 euros.
The Three Night Sailing Is the Entry Point
Everything about the opener is designed to be easy to say yes to, and the shape of it is worth reading closely.
Three nights, 6 to 9 December 2026, Kiel to Hamburg, with Copenhagen in the middle for the Christmas markets. At 499 euros a person it is the lowest published fare in the whole winter programme by a wide margin.
The one way routing is the catch and the feature at once. You board in Kiel and leave the ship in Hamburg, which means two different transfers rather than one return journey, and it also means the sailing doubles as a repositioning leg for the ship.
For anyone within reach of northern Germany that is a weekend rather than a holiday. For anyone flying in, the two city arrangement needs checking against flights before the fare looks as good as it reads.
Copenhagen in early December is the entire point of the itinerary. The markets are open, the daylight is short, and the ship is doing the work of a hotel in an expensive city for three nights.
That is the argument a short market cruise actually makes. A December hotel night in central Copenhagen is rarely cheap, and a fare that covers the bed, the meals and the crossing from Kiel is competing with the hotel bill rather than with other cruises.
What the Seven Night Options Trade Against Each Other
Two different seven night itineraries run roundtrip from Hamburg and they are not interchangeable.
Diversity of Norway takes the west coast and Aurlandsfjord, which is a scenery itinerary in the darkest part of the northern year. Short days are the trade for fjords without summer crowds.
Diversity of Western Europe takes London, Paris, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam, which is four cities in seven nights and a very different holiday. Pre Christmas is the stated season for it.
Both are roundtrip Hamburg, so unlike the opener they need only one set of transfers. That is a real cost difference for anyone flying, and it partly closes the gap against the 499 euro headline.
The eleven night Holidays in Western Europe is the third variant, with Christmas onboard and New Year’s Eve spent in the port for Paris. It is the only sailing in the programme that covers both holidays.
Worth noting what the port for Paris means in practice. Seine calls for a ship this size are made at Le Havre or Rouen, so a New Year’s Eve billed for Paris is an excursion decision rather than a berth in the city itself, and no port has been named.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Want the cheapest way aboard | Take the three night opener, 6 to 9 December, from 499 euros. Budget for two separate transfers. |
| Want Christmas markets | Copenhagen is the opener’s single call. The pre Christmas seven night adds London, Paris, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam. |
| Want Christmas and New Year aboard | Only the eleven night Holidays in Western Europe covers both, with New Year’s Eve in the port for Paris. |
| Want sun in January | Nineteen nights to Madeira, Tenerife and Lanzarote from 2,899 euros, roundtrip Hamburg. |
| Have thirty six days | The Caribbean crossing leaves Germany on 22 January 2027 from 6,199 euros a person. |
Why the Canaries Sailing Is Priced Where It Is
Nineteen nights at 2,899 euros works out near 153 euros a night, against 166 on the three night opener, which is the opposite of what most people expect.
Long winter repositioning style itineraries are usually the value in a programme, because sea days cost an operator less than port days and because a nineteen night absence in January is a narrow market.
The route is roundtrip Hamburg to Madeira, Tenerife and Lanzarote, which means a substantial run south and back with the Canaries as the warm middle. Sea days are the majority of the sailing rather than a feature of it.
The Caribbean crossing that follows is the same logic at greater length. Thirty six days from 22 January to 27 February 2027 at 6,199 euros is about 172 euros a night, with the Atlantic crossing absorbed into the fare.
For anyone comparing, the per night figures are the honest way to read this programme, because the headline fares span 499 to 6,199 euros and describe completely different lengths of holiday.
The Onboard Programme Names Its Audience
The published onboard detail is unusually specific about Christmas, which tells you who the winter programme is aimed at.
A Christmas market runs onboard with festive menus, the kids’ club adds Christmas stories, cookies and crafts, and the spa, yoga and dance programme continues as normal. This is a family ship in winter rather than an adults’ repositioning run.
Named entertainment appears on the Canaries sailing, with the comedian Sascha Thamm, the magician Oliver Pfundt and the singer Patrick Lindner. The Caribbean crossing carries the chef Cornelia Poletto and an Italian pasta event.
Both of those are German market names, which is the clearest signal in the whole announcement about who these sailings are sold to. The itineraries are northern European and so is the audience.
That matters for an English speaking reader in a practical way. TUI Cruises runs a German language product, so onboard announcements, entertainment and much of the service default to German, and the named acts confirm the programme is built for that market rather than adapted to it.
Anyone planning the Copenhagen call itself will get more from the city’s own official visitor information than from the ship’s programme, since the markets run on their own dates.
Still Unpublished
No booking open dates have been given for any of the sailings in the winter programme.
The 499 euro fare has no stated cabin grade attached, so whether it is an inside cabin or something else is unknown, and TUI’s usual inclusions are not itemised against it.
Exact sailing dates for the two seven night itineraries and the eleven night Christmas sailing have not been published, only their lengths and seasons.
No port times have been released for the Copenhagen call, which matters on a three night sailing where a short day would change what the itinerary is worth.
And nothing has been said about whether the one way Kiel to Hamburg routing repeats later in the season or exists only as the opener.
The 499 euro opener is one way. Kiel to Hamburg over three nights, which means two transfers rather than a return journey.
Per night is the honest comparison. Nineteen nights to the Canaries works out cheaper per night than the three night headline fare.
Nothing is bookable yet. No booking open date has been published for any sailing in the programme.
