Kansai Airports is replacing its KIX-ITM Card with a new free membership program called Soraca on December 15, 2026. The current card program ends on November 15. Soraca covers Kansai International, Osaka Itami and Kobe airports, moves to a digital membership in an app and on the web, and adds points and discounts at more than 120 airport shops and restaurants.

If you hold a KIX-ITM Card, your points are due to carry over, but you will need to register again for Soraca. Keep your card number and four digit PIN handy, along with an email address. If you are new, you can pre-register now on the Soraca pre-registration page and collect bonus points when you complete membership after launch.

If Osaka is on your itinerary, our Osaka Castle visitor guide covers tickets, timing and how to get there.

What Soraca Offers

Kansai Airports announced Soraca in a September 16 press release. Members can register their flight itineraries to receive personalized information on airport shops, services, campaigns and coupons, get member discounts at more than 120 outlets across the three airports, and earn points on flights and purchases that can be exchanged for airport discount vouchers.

The program has three tiers, Bronze, Silver and Gold, with status based on how often members use the airports. It has expanded multilingual support, according to the release. Traicy reported that the program will run through a mobile app and a web platform.

What KIX-ITM Card Members Need to Do

Kansai Airports says on its membership transition page that the physical card will be discontinued in favor of a single digital membership in the app and on the web. Current points will be carried over, but members need to enter their card number, four digit PIN and a valid email address to complete the move. The program stays free, and the operator says airport member perks and parking discounts continue.

If you have lost your card number or PIN, the KIX-ITM Card call center, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., can help, according to the transition page. Sort this out before November 15 to avoid a gap in your benefits.

Japanese aviation site Sky Budget pointed out that there is a one month gap between the KIX-ITM Card ending on November 15 and Soraca starting on December 15. If you usually rely on member discounts or parking benefits at Kansai or Itami, check with the operator how those will work if you travel during that window.

Decision Matrix
If you… What to do
Hold a KIX-ITM Card Note your card number and PIN now.
Fly from Kansai this winter Pre-register for bonus points.
Use parking discounts Confirm they carry over after migration.
Rarely fly from Osaka Join only if you shop at the airports.

Pre-Registration Bonus Points

Travelers who register an email address during the pre-registration campaign receive Soraca points when they complete membership after launch, according to the press release. Traicy reported that pre-registration runs through December 14 and that completing membership after pre-registering earns 100 points. A separate social media campaign will award 1,000 points each to 1,000 people chosen by lottery from those who repost eligible content.

For most international visitors, Soraca matters mainly for shopping discounts at the airports and for anyone who flies through Kansai several times a year. Frequent travelers on Kansai, Itami or Kobe routes will get the most from the tier system. Itami mainly handles domestic flights, while Kansai International carries most of the region’s international traffic, so a single program across all three airports suits travelers who connect between domestic and international trips in the Osaka area.

Before you sign up, check which languages the app supports and whether it works with your phone’s region settings. If you only pass through Kansai once, the shopping discounts may still be worth a quick registration, but the points are designed to reward repeat visits.

Flying Through Kansai This Winter

Kansai International is adding international links this season, as we reported in our story on Air Canada’s Vancouver to Osaka flights returning February 2. Travelers with ANA miles can also look at award seats out of Kansai, as we covered in our story on ANA’s reduced mileage awards.
