Hotel Palacio Bellas Artes San Sebastian has reopened inside a restored 1914 landmark in the center of the Basque coastal city. Hilton announced the 81 room Curio Collection property on July 8, 2026, giving travelers a new bookable option near La Concha beach, the Old Town and the main rail station.

The building once housed one of Spain’s earliest cinemas and had been closed to the public for four decades. The useful booking question is whether its central location, unusual room layout and restaurant program fit the trip better than a beach focused or car friendly hotel elsewhere in San Sebastian.

What reopened at Palacio Bellas Artes

Hilton’s official opening announcement says the Beaux Arts building first opened in 1914 and became an important theater and cinema. Architect Ignacio Quemada led the restoration, which reconstructed the dome and renewed the facade while retaining the building’s defining architectural details.
