Hong Kong Disneyland Magic Run Fest Opens Registration July 21

Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland with guests on Main Street USA

Hong Kong Disneyland will open the first registration window for its new Magic Run Fest at 3 pm on July 21, 2026. The park has expanded its former 10K Weekend into a four race event on November 28 and 29, giving runners choices themed to Zootopia, Pixar, Duffy and Friends, and Frozen.

The decision is more involved than choosing a character. Every race costs HK$680, but the dates, start times, distances, minimum ages, time limits, and transport options differ.

Entries are sold first come, first served, so prospective runners should choose a race and prepare their participant details before their window opens.

Magic Run Fest Race Choices

Race Comparison
Race Date Start Minimum age Time limit
Zootopia 10K November 29 6 am race or 7 am fun run 16 2 hours
Pixar Pals 5K November 28 6:10 am race or 6:50 am fun run 16 1 hour 30 minutes
Duffy and Friends 3K November 28 7:30 am or 8:20 am 3 1 hour
World of Frozen 3K November 29 7:30 am or 8:20 am 3 1 hour

The Zootopia 10K is the longest and most demanding option. Hong Kong Disneyland says its route runs through themed lands including Main Street USA, Tomorrowland, Toy Story Land, and World of Frozen.

Entrants choose between a timed race wave and a later fun run wave, but both have the same two hour completion limit.

The Pixar Pals 5K follows a similar format on November 28. It has a timed race start followed by a fun run start, and the minimum age is 16.

The official page gives participants 90 minutes to finish, making it a shorter choice for adults who still want a measured park course.

The two 3K events are the family options. Children age 3 and older may enter, but anyone younger than 12 must participate with an adult age 18 or older.

Duffy and Friends runs on November 28, while World of Frozen runs on November 29. Both offer two morning waves and a one hour limit.

Who Gets Access to Each Registration Window

The first window is an early bird period for eligible Magic Access members. It begins at 3 pm on July 21 and ends at 11:59 pm on July 24.

The park directs members to sign in and verify the benefit before completing an entry, so the membership and MyDisney HK account details should be ready in advance.

A second early bird period opens to other eligible applicants at 10 am on July 29 and closes at 11:59 pm on August 4. Public registration then begins at 10 am on August 5 and is scheduled to remain available through September 27, subject to capacity.

Those closing times are not a guarantee that every race will remain available. The official terms say registration is first come, first served.

A runner who wants one particular distance, date, or wave should treat the applicable opening time as the real decision point.

What the HK$680 Entry Includes

Each entry includes a themed event shirt, race bib, participant wristband, character themed items, a finisher medal for runners who complete the course, and an electronic certificate. The exact design varies by race, so groups entering different distances should not expect identical packs.

Participants will need to collect their packs before event weekend according to the collection instructions issued by the resort. The registration information must match the participant, and the required waiver must be completed by September 27.

An incomplete record can create a problem even if payment was accepted earlier.

Results and electronic certificates are scheduled to be available from December 13, 2026, through February 28, 2027. The timed 10K and 5K waves are the better choices for runners who care about a recorded result.

The fun run and 3K options are oriented more toward the park experience and character theme.

Transport Needs an Early Plan

The 10K and 5K begin before normal park hours. Hong Kong Disneyland advises participants to use the MTR or special event transport, but normal rail service may not suit every early start.

A limited prepaid bus option is offered for the 10K and 5K, and it must be arranged rather than assumed on the morning.

Parking will open early for the event, but availability and access rules can change with operations. Runners staying outside the resort should compare their start time with the first practical train, bus, taxi, or private car arrival.

A missed start caused by transport is not a useful risk on a first come, paid entry.

Travelers building a larger park visit around the run can use Deep Arrival’s Hong Kong Disneyland guide to understand the resort before choosing hotel nights and park days. The race entry itself does not replace the need to verify any separate admission or lodging plan.

Weather and Pace Rules Matter

November weather can still affect the event. The official rules allow cancellation when Hong Kong Observatory warnings reach specified levels, including Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 3 or above and red or black rainstorm warnings at 3 am Participants should check the official event page and local warning status before leaving for the resort.

The races also have fixed course limits. A runner who falls behind the required pace may be asked to leave the route for safety and operating reasons.

The 10K allows two hours, the 5K allows 90 minutes, and each 3K allows one hour. Those limits include the full course experience, not only steady running time.

Hong Kong Disneyland notes that the event remains subject to government approval and may change. Registration windows, transport instructions, pack collection, and race operations should therefore be checked again close to the event rather than treated as frozen after payment.

Traveler Decision

Act in the first window available to you if a specific race, date, or wave is central to the trip. Choose the 10K or 5K for a timed adult race, and choose a 3K for a family experience with children age 3 or older.

Wait before paying if the early transport, age rule, pace limit, or weather cancellation terms do not fit the group. Confirm the MyDisney HK account, participant names, waiver plan, and route to the resort first.
