The traveler decision is whether to book a daytime house tour now, wait for a night ticket, or do both. Theme park or HHN event admission is not required for Unmasking, which makes it a separate purchase from the Aug. 28 through Nov. 1 night event.

What Universal is selling for Unmasking

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights hub lists Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror as a lights-on look at the Art and Design team’s haunted houses. Guests walk houses with the lights on, hear how rooms were built, and get limited photography access in select rooms plus a commemorative pin.

Undercover Tourist reports the 2026 three-house tour lasts up to about two and a half hours and starts on select dates from Aug. 21, while the six-house tour lasts up to about five hours, includes a buffet-style lunch, and starts Aug. 29. Pricing varies by date and selection, with published starting points around 99.99 dollars for the shorter tour.

WDW News Today reported when tours went on sale that Unmasking tickets start around 100 dollars per person and that theme park or event admission is not included and not required. That separation matters if you want house details in daylight without buying an HHN night.
