Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa opens on Saturday 28 November 2026 on Seven Mile Beach, with opening night member rates from $1,767 plus an $85 nightly resort fee, and a World of Hyatt Category 8 rating for points stays. Hyatt lists the 382 room resort, its restaurants and fees on its official resort page.

For a points stay, Category 8 sits at the top end of Hyatt’s award chart, so plan on a high redemption. For the rest of the island, see our best beaches in Grand Cayman guide.

Opening Date and Rates

The resort opens on 28 November, Caribbean Journal reported, listing opening night member rates of $1,767 for an ocean view king with balcony and $1,776 for an oceanfront king.

Hotel trade site La Revue des Hôtels puts the public rate at $1,801 before taxes. Hyatt’s page adds a daily resort fee of $85 per room, which it says is subject to change.

Those are opening night prices, which are often among the highest a new resort charges. Compare dates across December and early 2027 before you book, since the Christmas and New Year period is likely to be the most expensive.

What Category 8 Means for Points

The resort enters World of Hyatt at Category 8. Hyatt’s award chart page lists Category 8 standard room free nights at 35,000 points off peak, 55,000 at standard and 75,000 at peak.

At cash rates near $1,800 a night, points can be the better value for Hyatt members, especially on off peak dates. Check the award calendar once bookings for your dates open, since award space at a new resort can be limited.

Rooms, Pools and Dining

Rooms start at 468 square feet with a furnished balcony, from king and two queen rooms to ocean view and oceanfront options, according to Caribbean Journal. Hyatt’s page also lists one to three bedroom residences.

The resort has about 900 feet of oceanfront. Hyatt lists three pools, the Mera Spa with 14 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, a fitness centre and Camp Hyatt for children.

La Revue des Hôtels describes the spa as covering 836 square metres, with an herbal steam room, an outdoor vitality pool and chromotherapy. Caribbean Journal adds that the resort has a Grand Club lounge, which usually comes with club level rooms at a higher rate.

There are six places to eat and drink: Salt + Cinder, Breadkind Market, Lo Tide, Hi Tide, the Lobby Lounge and Brasa, a Caribbean grill that Caribbean Journal describes as one of the resort’s signature concepts.

Events Space and Location

Hyatt lists 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including a ballroom for up to 1,100 guests, which Hyatt says will be the largest event space on the island.

The address is 89 West Bay Road on Seven Mile Beach, the island’s main resort strip, about 10 minutes from Owen Roberts International Airport. Pets are allowed, up to two per room at 70 pounds each, with no pet fee listed.

Booking Before It Opens

New resorts can adjust services in their first weeks. If you want a smooth first visit, a stay from mid December onward gives the team time to settle in, though it is likely to cost more over the holidays.

If you book for opening weekend, keep an eye on your confirmation email for any change to the opening date or services, and choose a refundable rate where you can.

Seven Mile Beach is public along its length, so a stay here also puts you within walking distance of the beach bars and restaurants on West Bay Road.
