Denver Airport Tops Going 2026 Domestic Flight Deal Rankings

If you are hunting cheap domestic flights this year, Denver International Airport just became the origin most worth watching. Going’s 2026 Top Airports and Airlines for Flight Deals ranking, published August 17, 2026, puts Denver first among large and medium U.S. airports for domestic deals after a full year of fare tracking.

The result is not a one-day promo. Going scored more than 45,000 U.S. routes from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, then ranked airports by a weighted mix of deal volume, average Going deal price, and savings off normal fares. Denver’s average domestic Going deal landed at $219 across 150 deals, edging New Orleans and Orlando.

What Going actually measured

Going defines a “deal” through its Going Grade system, which scores a fare against historic pricing for that exact route. Top-scoring deals sit multiple standard deviations below the route average, so the list is not a raw dump of every cheap ULCC seat.

For 2026, Going changed the airport ranking math. Past years leaned on deal count alone. This year the weighted score uses average price at 30 percent, average deal savings on full-service airlines at 35 percent, and deal volume at 35 percent.

That shift matters. An airport can climb when its deals are deeper, not only when it floods the alert feed. Denver’s win reflects both volume and competitive pricing, which Going links to sustained fare wars on domestic routes.

According to Going’s published awards page, the analysis covers U.S. airports that generated Going deals in the study year and uses FAA enplanement classes to separate large or medium hubs from smaller airports.

Where Denver finished, and who followed

Among large and medium airports, Denver led domestic deals with a $219 average Going roundtrip and 150 deals. New Orleans placed second at $228 across 166 deals. Orlando finished third at $211 across 146 deals.

Going says Tampa held the domestic number-one slot last year, so Denver’s rise is a real year-over-year handoff rather than a cosmetic reshuffle. Spirit’s collapse also reshaped the 2026 board by removing one budget carrier that used to fill deal boards at several leisure hubs.

Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Charleston, Raleigh-Durham, Tampa, Portland, and Las Vegas rounded out the domestic top ten. Charleston’s $167 average was the cheapest average price inside that top ten, even though Denver took the overall weighted crown.

Among small airports, Akron-Canton led with a $135 average across 52 deals, followed by West Palm Beach, Providence, Wilmington, and Savannah. Those results help travelers who can drive to a secondary airport instead of forcing every trip through a mega-hub.

Boston leads international deals, New York stays dense

For international outbound deals, Boston ranked first with a $451 average Going deal across 415 deals. JFK and Newark followed closely, keeping the New York metro area powerful even after Boston’s upset at number one.

Chicago, Los Angeles, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, Miami, Washington Dulles, and Austin completed the international large-airport top ten. Raleigh-Durham and Austin are notable additions because they show strong international deal density outside the traditional coastal mega-hubs.

Small-airport international leaders included Syracuse, Rochester, Providence, Westchester County, and Burlington. Those Northeast secondary airports often feed Europe and Canada redemptions or cash sales that larger hubs absorb later in the booking cycle.

Going also published a points-and-miles airport list led by JFK, then Boston and Los Angeles. That list is volume-based and separate from the cash domestic ranking that put Denver first.

A separate Members’ Choice poll, run in the Going app from July 21 to August 2, 2026, asked members to pick favorite international-deal origins among the top ten cash airports. Chicago O’Hare led that vote at about 18 percent, with Los Angeles and JFK close behind. Traveler preference and Going’s weighted cash math do not always pick the same winner.

Which airlines produced the most Going deals

On domestic full-service carriers, American Airlines led with 646 Going deals, followed by Delta with 609, Southwest with 594, United with 576, Alaska and Hawaiian with 515, and JetBlue with 165. Going excluded bare-bones budget fares from the airline ranking unless the price cleared its deal bar, so the list is not a pure ULCC scoreboard.

That is useful context for Denver travelers. Denver hosts heavy Southwest and Frontier presence, and United runs a large hub there, but Going’s domestic airline ranking still crowned American on full-service deal volume nationally.

Internationally, United, American, and Delta again led by volume, with Air Canada, British Airways, JetBlue, Lufthansa, Iberia, Air France, and Icelandair filling out the top ten. Air Canada’s Vancouver hub and JetBlue’s Europe and Caribbean growth are the secondary story behind the big-three totals.

What this ranking means for your next booking

Treat Denver as a high-probability domestic deal origin for the measured year, not as a guarantee that every DEN itinerary will be cheapest tomorrow. Going’s own booking guidance still points travelers toward one to three months of advance purchase for most domestic cash trips and two to eight months for many international trips.

If you live near Denver, set alerts early and compare DEN against Colorado Springs or nearby hubs when the calendar is flexible. If you do not live near Denver, the ranking still helps when you can reposition cheaply, combine a road segment, or choose a connecting city with a better cash starting point.
