French bee has moved the departure day for its Papeete flights for most of November and early December, and the reason is that the aircraft will now spend more than a day on the ground in Tahiti. Schedule tracker AeroRoutes reported the revision on September 15, covering departures from Papeete between November 12 and December 8, 2026.
If you are booked on the return leg inside that window, your flight home leaves a day later than the schedule you booked against, which means one more night in Tahiti and a different connection day at San Francisco or Paris. Our Papeete guide is a reasonable place to start if that extra day is now yours to fill.
- What moved: the Papeete departure, flight BF711, shifts from Monday and Thursday to Tuesday and Friday.
- When: departures from Papeete between November 12 and December 8, 2026.
- Why: the Airbus A350 will sit in Tahiti for roughly 26 hours instead of 115 minutes.
- What did not move: the outbound, BF710, is still filed on Wednesdays and Sundays out of Paris Orly.
The Aircraft Now Night Stops in Tahiti
The old pattern was a fast turn. The A350 landed at Papeete in the early morning and left again about two hours later, which put the return on the same day of the week as the arrival. The revised plan gives the aircraft roughly 26 hours on the ground, so the return now departs the following morning instead.
That single change cascades through the whole itinerary. A traveler who arrived on a Thursday morning and was booked out on that same Thursday now leaves on Friday. A Monday arrival now departs Tuesday. The flight numbers and the times of day are unchanged; only the calendar day moves.
Times Stay the Same on Both Legs
The filing keeps the clock times intact. BF710 leaves Paris Orly at 5:40 p.m., reaches San Francisco at 8:10 p.m., departs again at 10:40 p.m. and lands at Papeete at 5:20 a.m. the next morning, operating Wednesdays and Sundays.
Coming back, BF711 leaves Papeete at 7:15 a.m., arrives at San Francisco at 5:30 p.m., departs at 8:00 p.m. and reaches Paris Orly at 3:45 p.m. the following day. It is that Papeete departure whose day of the week is moving.
Why San Francisco Passengers Should Care
San Francisco is not just a technical stop on this route. On its own flights to Tahiti page the airline lists departures from New York, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles and Paris Orly, all flown with A350s. Anyone holding a San Francisco to Papeete booking in the affected window is on the same aircraft rotation and the same revised day pattern.
The airline offers three fare tiers on this route, Basic, Smart and Premium, and it has not published how it will handle bookings caught by the day change. Until it does, the practical move is to look at what your reservation now shows rather than what you remember booking.
A Route That Has Been Revised Before
AeroRoutes describes this as French bee revising the November and December pattern “once again”, so this is not the first adjustment to the season. Tahiti has been drawing more traffic generally, with Papeete cruise calls rising sharply into 2026 and 2027, and schedules on the long thin routes that serve it tend to move more than once before a season locks.
Treat the current filing as the best available plan rather than a final one, and check again closer to departure.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Fly out of Papeete between November 12 and December 8, 2026 | Check the day shown on your reservation. The departure moves from Monday or Thursday to Tuesday or Friday. |
| Booked a hotel in Tahiti for the old return day | Add the extra night before it sells out, since every passenger on the flight is in the same position. |
| Have an onward connection at San Francisco or Paris Orly | Rebook it a day later. The clock times are unchanged but the calendar day is not. |
| Are flying out to Tahiti rather than home | Nothing to do. BF710 is still filed on Wednesdays and Sundays from Paris Orly. |
November 12, 2026 is the first affected departure. Anything before it follows the previous day pattern out of Papeete.
December 8, 2026 is the last affected departure. The filing does not extend past it, so later dates should be checked on their own.
The hotel night is the cost that lands first. A day added at the end of a Tahiti trip is a night of accommodation and a day of car hire, and it is worth sorting before the flight change filters through to booking sites.
Which French bee flight is changing days?
BF711, the Papeete to San Francisco to Paris Orly return. Between November 12 and December 8, 2026 it moves from Monday and Thursday to Tuesday and Friday.
Do the departure times change?
No. BF711 still leaves Papeete at 7:15 a.m. and BF710 still leaves Paris Orly at 5:40 p.m. Only the day of the week moves on the Papeete departure.
Why is French bee making this change?
The filing gives the reason directly: the A350 will have roughly 26 hours of ground time at Papeete instead of 115 minutes, so it stays overnight rather than turning straight around.
Will French bee cover the extra night in Tahiti?
The airline has not published any policy for bookings affected by this change. Check your reservation and contact French bee directly rather than assuming a rebooking or accommodation offer.
