flydubai Adds Second Daily Dubai to Bangkok Flight From July 18

flydubai is adding a second daily flight between Dubai and Bangkok Don Mueang Airport from July 18, 2026, moving the extra frequency forward by nearly two months. The carrier had announced in February that double daily service would begin on September 15, but strong early demand prompted the much earlier summer increase.

The change gives travelers two daily options less than three weeks after flydubai opened the route on July 1. Both flights use Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, so passengers should compare the new timing as well as the airport choice, fare and connection structure.

The second daily flight now starts July 18

The Dubai Government Media Office announcement confirms the July 18 start and says the increase follows strong demand for the new Bangkok service. It also confirms that both daily flights operate from Dubai International Terminal 3 to Don Mueang, whose airport code is DMK.

This is a material schedule change rather than a repeat of the July 1 launch. The original double daily announcement set September 15 as the start, while the new decision places the second option into the current summer travel period.

Independent route reporting from Aviation Week also records the July 18 increase and notes that it arrives less than three weeks after the first flight. The publication separately confirms that flydubai is raising Krabi service from four weekly flights to daily.

Together, the Bangkok and Krabi changes bring flydubai to as many as 21 weekly Thailand flights. That wider capacity matters for travelers comparing a Bangkok city trip with a beach itinerary or building separate domestic travel inside Thailand.

The network total does not mean that Bangkok and Krabi are interchangeable arrival points. A traveler considering both should compare the onward ground or domestic flight plan, because the added Bangkok frequency may simplify a city stay while the daily Krabi schedule can remove a separate transfer for an Andaman coast trip.

Travel dates also control the value of the increase. Search both daily Bangkok departures before choosing a hotel check in or onward ticket, then compare Krabi only when its airport is genuinely closer to the final destination.

Don Mueang is the Bangkok airport on the booking

flydubai serves Don Mueang rather than Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport on this route. The distinction is important because DMK and BKK are different airports in different parts of the metropolitan area, and a transfer between them needs separate ground time.

A traveler continuing on another flight should check the airport code on every segment before purchasing. A connection that looks convenient on a city level can become impractical if the onward carrier leaves from Suvarnabhumi while flydubai arrives at Don Mueang.

The official July 1 launch notice describes Don Mueang as a convenient gateway to central Bangkok. Airport convenience still depends on the final hotel, arrival hour and chosen ground transport, so the better airport is specific to the trip rather than universal.

Travelers beginning or ending in central Bangkok may value DMK, while passengers connecting to an airline based at BKK should price the transfer and build a conservative margin. Separate airport bookings also require a plan for baggage collection and another check in.

The Emirates codeshare can protect some connections

flydubai says the Bangkok service is offered through its Emirates codeshare partnership. Eligible passengers can book a single ticket, check baggage through and use connections across the combined network, which now covers more than 240 destinations according to the July announcement.

That protection is not automatic merely because both airlines appear in the itinerary. Travelers should verify that the full journey is issued as one ticket and that the baggage receipt names the final destination, especially when buying through a third party.

A self connected itinerary creates a different risk. If the first flight arrives late, the next airline may treat the passenger as a no show rather than rebook the trip, even when both flights use Dubai International Airport.

Dubai Terminal 3 reduces some airport friction for the advertised codeshare flow, but minimum connection time and entry requirements still depend on the itinerary. The final ticket confirmation is more authoritative than a route announcement for a specific transfer.

Compare the live fare rather than the launch price

At launch, flydubai advertised return Economy Lite fares from Dubai starting at AED 3,000 and return Business Class fares starting at AED 11,100. Those figures were opening examples, not guaranteed prices for every date or for the new second daily flight.

The carrier’s live Dubai to Bangkok booking page says displayed fares can change and that optional charges may apply. Travelers should price both daily departures with the baggage, seat and meal choices actually needed before judging which is cheaper.

Frequency can improve flexibility without making every seat inexpensive. The added flight creates more inventory and another timing choice, but school holiday demand, weekend patterns and connection banks can still produce a large price difference between departures on the same day.

Compare the total trip rather than the headline fare. A departure that costs slightly more may avoid a hotel night, shorten a Dubai connection or place the Bangkok arrival closer to a planned check in time.

The aircraft and cabin still require a date check

flydubai launched the route with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and highlighted lie flat seats in Business Class plus its current Economy Class product. The airline can substitute aircraft for operational reasons, so the seat map shown during booking is the useful check for a particular departure.

Travelers should also compare fare conditions across the two options. A lower fare can carry stricter baggage or change terms, while a flexible ticket may be more useful when the Bangkok trip connects to a separate hotel, tour or domestic flight.
