Eurostar has put adult tickets on sale for £35 each way between London and five continental cities, but a cheap outbound journey does not guarantee a cheap return. The operator’s September 9 sale ends September 14 at 10:59 p.m. British Summer Time and covers eligible Standard-class travel from September 23 through December 16, with exclusions that differ by route and direction.
For travelers already planning a London and Paris itinerary, this is a chance to compare the complete rail price before fixing hotel nights, not a reason to buy a flight to Europe just to chase a train fare. Those adding France to an existing UK trip should also check their charging equipment: our France travel-adapter guide distinguishes plug compatibility from voltage conversion, an easily missed difference when crossing the Channel.
- Advertised fare: £35 per adult, one way, in Eurostar Standard, subject to availability.
- Booking window: September 9 through September 14, 2026, ending 10:59 p.m. BST.
- Travel window: September 23 through December 16, 2026, inclusive, with exclusions.
- London routes: Paris, Lille, Brussels, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
- Code: No promotional code is required.
Five City Routes, With Both Directions to Check
The UK offer names London St Pancras International and five stations: Paris Gare du Nord, Lille Europe, Brussels-Midi/Zuid, Amsterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Centraal. Those station names define the sale’s advertised routes; a link elsewhere on Eurostar’s website to another destination does not establish that the same £35 ticket covers an onward train.
Two £35 legs would total £70 for one adult if both are available for the required journey, but that is arithmetic rather than a guaranteed return price. Check the outbound and inbound calendars together, since the lowest fare depends on the date and departure time and the published exclusion list is not symmetrical.
In its updated independent sale check, Which? reports finding £35 tickets without having to use only very early or late departures. That is evidence that the promotion had bookable examples during its check, not a promise that the same trains remain available when another traveler searches.
Paris Blackouts Can Break a Weekend Pairing
For London to Paris, the published £35 exclusions include September 25; October 2, 9, 11, 23, 24, 25 and 26; and November 1. In the reverse direction, Paris to London excludes September 27; October 5, 11, 18, 25 and 26; and November 1, so a date that works for one direction may fail for the other.
The September 25 outbound and September 27 return exclusions are especially relevant to someone considering that Friday-to-Sunday trip. They do not mean Paris trains are cancelled on those dates; they mean this promotional fare is not offered, an important difference for travelers willing to pay another fare rather than move their hotel reservation.
London to Brussels or Lille excludes September 27; October 5, 19, 25, 26 and 27; and November 2 and 8. Brussels or Lille to London excludes September 25 and 27; October 2, 5, 18 and 30; November 1; and December 6, giving those routes their own pattern instead of the Paris calendar.
Use the operator’s full current terms as the final check if a date is central to the trip. A calendar outside the exclusion list is only eligible for the promotion; it is not a reservation, a guarantee of remaining seats or proof that every departure that day costs £35.
Dutch Routes Have Fare Exclusions and Engineering Dates
For London to Amsterdam or Rotterdam, the £35 fare excludes September 27 and October 2, 4, 9, 16, 17, 24 and 25. In the Netherlands-to-London direction, excluded dates are September 25 and 27; October 11, 18, 19, 30 and 31; and November 1 and 14, according to the sale conditions.
A separate part of those conditions lists engineering work affecting operation: London to Amsterdam trains in both directions are not scheduled to operate October 3 through 5. The London and Rotterdam route has listed non-operating weekends November 7 and 8, December 5 and 6, and December 12 and 13, with an additional Rotterdam-to-London restriction September 27.
Eurostar dates that engineering information to August 20 and says it can change at short notice, so verify the actual service before adding a nonrefundable hotel night. A fare blackout can be solved by choosing a different price; an absent direct train requires a different service or travel plan.
The promotion is for future autumn travel, not a statement that today’s trains are operating normally. Current incidents and this new sale are separate issues, and neither the sale page nor a low-price calendar should replace the service information for a journey that is about to depart.
A £35 Ticket Has a £25 Voluntary Refund Fee
Under Eurostar’s published Standard fare conditions, changes to the date or time are allowed without an exchange fee until one hour before the original departure. Travelers still pay any increase in fare, receive no refund if the replacement is cheaper, and cannot use that exchange rule to change the destination.
Voluntary refunds are available seven days or more before departure with a £25 fee per person for each leg, or £50 for a full return-ticket refund. A single £35 leg would therefore leave £10 after a £25 fee in the straightforward one-way case, making “refundable” quite different from “all your money back.”
Less than seven days before departure, Standard tickets are nonrefundable under those conditions. Moving a ticket to a later departure inside that seven-day window also makes it nonrefundable, so rescheduling is not a way to reopen a refund deadline that has already passed.
Those are the traveler’s voluntary change and cancellation conditions, not a summary of rights when Eurostar cancels a train or a qualifying delay occurs. The operator directs disrupted passengers to its separate refund and compensation guidance; do not apply the ordinary £25 voluntary-refund calculation to every operational problem.
Price the Whole Party Before Paying
The headline promotion describes adult tickets, so families should enter the actual travelers and ages instead of multiplying £35 by everyone in the group. Eurostar publishes separate child-fare rules and allows children under four to travel without their own ticket when they sit on an adult’s lap, but the booking result must establish the price and seating arrangement for the specific party.
Eurostar lists a £12 transaction service fee for Standard and Plus bookings made by phone or at the station, with stated loyalty exceptions. Using its website or app avoids that service fee under the published conditions, while any separately purchased local transport or accommodation remains outside the rail promotion.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Want a £70 adult return | Find £35 availability on both legs before treating £70 as the trip price. |
| Want Paris September 25 to 27 | Those outbound and return dates are excluded from the £35 offer. |
| Want Amsterdam October 3 to 5 | Check the listed engineering restrictions before booking accommodation. |
| Might cancel voluntarily | Account for the £25 per-leg fee and seven-day refund cutoff. |
The offer is strongest for someone whose existing itinerary can fit an available train in both directions. A fixed weekend with excluded dates or uncertain plans may be better judged by its actual total and cancellation cost than by the advertised starting fare.
September 14 is the booking deadline. The UK offer closes at 10:59 p.m. BST, not at midnight in the United States.
September 23 through December 16 is the travel window. Check route-specific dates and the required direction before buying.
Seven days before departure is the voluntary-refund boundary. A Standard ticket’s remaining refund can be much smaller than its purchase price.
Is £35 the return fare?
No. It is the advertised adult one-way fare; each leg needs its own availability.
Do I need a Eurostar sale code?
No. Eurostar says the promotional fares can be found without a code.
Are all autumn dates included?
No. The September 23 to December 16 window contains route-specific fare exclusions and engineering restrictions.
Can I change the ticket for free?
The exchange fee can be waived under Standard rules, but a higher replacement fare still costs extra.
