EPCOT Candlelight: What 2 Blank Dates Mean for Booking

Disney has published the 2026 Candlelight Processional narrator schedule for EPCOT, and thirteen of the fifteen date blocks now carry a name. Two do not, according to the Disney Parks Blog, and dining packages go on sale before those two are filled.

That gap is the whole planning problem this year. Anyone who wants a guaranteed seat has to commit on 14 October, and our EPCOT crowd calendar is the quickest way to see which of the two unnamed blocks is the one worth gambling on.

At a Glance
  • Runs: 27 November to 30 December at the America Gardens Theatre.
  • Nightly: three performances, at 4:45pm, 6:30pm and 8:00pm.
  • Still blank: 2 and 3 December, and 13 and 14 December.
  • Packages open: 14 October, which is before those names are published.
  • New narrators: Robin Roberts, Jason Kelce and Lacey Chabert.

The Full 2026 Narrator Schedule

The season opens on Friday 27 November, the day after Thanksgiving, with Auli’i Cravalho holding the first two nights. Gary Sinise follows for three, from 29 November to 1 December.

After the first blank block, Whoopi Goldberg takes 4 and 5 December, Robin Roberts 6 and 7, and Jason Kelce 8 and 9. Neil Patrick Harris has the three nights from 10 to 12 December.

The second blank block sits on 13 and 14 December. Lauren Daigle then has 15 and 16, Ralph Macchio 17 to 19, and Henry Winkler 20 and 21.

Lacey Chabert takes 22 and 23 December, Jodi Benson has Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Simu Liu follows on 26 and 27, and Eva Longoria closes the run from 28 to 30 December.

Three of those are new to the stage this year: Robin Roberts, Jason Kelce and Lacey Chabert. The rest are returning, which matters if you are trying to repeat a particular reading rather than see any reading at all.

The narrator is the variable, not the show. Everything around the reading is fixed: a 51 piece orchestra, the Voices of Liberty, and a choir of more than 150 Disney cast members and community singers. This is the 55th year of the Candlelight Processional at Walt Disney World and its 32nd at EPCOT.

That is worth knowing before you pay a premium for a particular name. The music, the staging and the length do not change between 27 November and 30 December. What changes is the voice reading the Christmas story over the top of it.

The Two Dates Disney Has Not Filled

The two unnamed blocks are not equivalent, and that is the part the lineup announcement does not spell out.

2 and 3 December fall on a Wednesday and a Thursday in the quietest stretch of the season, between the Thanksgiving crowd and the December build. If that block stays unfilled until late, the cost of waiting is low, because those nights are the least likely to sell out.

13 and 14 December is a Sunday and a Monday, inside the run up to the Christmas weeks. The Sunday in particular is a date many families are already holding. Booking a dining package there on 14 October means paying for a meal and a reserved seat without knowing who is reading.

Disney has filled late blocks in past years, and the lineup carries the standard caveat that it is subject to change, as Fox 35 Orlando noted in its report on the announcement. A named narrator can move; an unnamed block can be filled by someone you would have booked around.

Decision Matrix
If you… What to do
Want a specific narrator Book the dining package on 14 October for a named date. Waiting risks the package, not the narrator.
Are looking at 13 or 14 December This is the riskier blank block. It is a Sunday and Monday in a busy stretch.
Are looking at 2 or 3 December The safer gamble. Midweek in the quietest week, so waiting for the name costs less.
Will not buy a dining package Seating is first come, first served. Plan to queue well before one of the three nightly shows.
Are visiting between Christmas and New Year Eva Longoria closes the run on 28 to 30 December, and those are among the park’s busiest nights.

What the 14 October Package Date Forces

Candlelight seating is first come, first served unless you buy a dining package, which bundles a meal at a select EPCOT restaurant with a reserved seating badge for a chosen showtime.

Packages are bookable from 14 October, a Wednesday. Disney’s own guidance is that seating fills quickly and that planning ahead is the way to guarantee it, which is a clear signal that the popular dates will not survive long at the opening.

The structure is the same one EPCOT uses for Eat to the Beat during Food and Wine, so anyone who has booked that will recognise the mechanics. The difference is that Eat to the Beat published its full lineup before packages opened, and Candlelight has not.

So the decision is a straight trade. Book on 14 October for a named night and take the narrator you are given, or hold for one of the two blanks and accept that the reserved seats around it may be gone by the time the name lands.

Disney notes that a reserved seat still rewards arriving early, because the badge guarantees the section rather than the view within it.

The Processional also sits inside the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which runs on the same 27 November to 30 December window. The festival brings Holiday Kitchens around the park, storytellers through World Showcase, a seasonal overlay on Living with the Land and Santa meet and greets, none of which need a package.

For a first visit that changes the calculation. A park ticket on a Candlelight night already buys most of the holiday programming, and the package buys a seat and a meal on top of it rather than access to the season.

What Has Not Been Published

No date has been given for when the two blank blocks will be filled. Past years have seen late additions, but the announcement itself sets no deadline.

Package pricing has not been published in the lineup announcement either, and it varies by restaurant and by meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options all exist, so the entry cost depends on which you take rather than on the show.

Nothing has been said about whether any 2026 performance will be ticketed separately from the dining packages. On current information the only two ways in are the package or the queue.

Planning Impact

The calendar is 13 names and 2 blanks. If your dates are named, this is settled. If they are not, you are deciding without the main variable.

The two blanks carry different risk. A midweek pair in the quiet week is a cheap wait. A Sunday and Monday in mid December is not.

14 October is the real deadline. That is when reserved seating becomes available, and it is before the lineup is complete.

Frequently Asked

When does the 2026 Candlelight Processional run?

27 November to 30 December at the America Gardens Theatre, with three performances a night at 4:45pm, 6:30pm and 8:00pm.

Which dates have no narrator yet?

2 and 3 December, and 13 and 14 December. Every other block in the run has a name attached.

When can I book a dining package?

From 14 October. The package includes a meal at a select EPCOT restaurant and a reserved seating badge for one of the three nightly showtimes.

Who is narrating on Christmas Day?

Jodi Benson has 24 and 25 December. Simu Liu follows on 26 and 27, and Eva Longoria closes the run from 28 to 30 December.

Can I see it without a dining package?

Yes. Seating outside the reserved section is first come, first served, so the trade is queueing time against the cost of the package.
