Disneyland has posted 2026 holiday dining windows on its restaurant pages. Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel will serve festive breakfast, brunch, and dinner buffets from November 16, 2026, through January 3, 2027, with reservations opening October 1, 2026.
The booking decision splits by location. Hotel character meals lock a week before the in-park Plaza Inn parade lunch, which opens October 8 and still needs same-day park admission. Travelers comparing ticket types can start with Deep Arrival’s Disneyland Resort tickets guide before they hold a table.
- Hotel booking date: October 1, 2026, for Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe.
- Hotel meal window: November 16, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
- Parade package booking: October 8, 2026, at Plaza Inn.
- Parade dates: November 13 to December 30, 2026, with listed blockouts.
- Park ticket: Required for Plaza Inn; not required for the two hotel dining rooms.
Hotel Buffets Book First on October 1
Goofy’s Kitchen is the classic Disneyland Hotel character buffet. Disney’s listing says the holiday overlay covers breakfast, brunch, and dinner, with Goofy and pals in seasonal costumes. Breakfast is posted at $59.99. An 18 percent gratuity is added automatically to every check, and seating is indoor only.
Seasonal meals include complimentary Disney PhotoPass digital downloads and a themed keepsake button. The same page still lists Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween through October 31, 2026, so October tables are already in a different overlay. Holiday holds should target November 16 onward, not the last Halloween nights.
Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa splits the same November 16 to January 3 window into two named meals. Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party is breakfast and brunch, and Disney invites guests to wear sleepwear. Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast is the dinner, with Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, and friends. Reservations for both also open October 1, 2026.
Neither hotel restaurant requires a theme park ticket. That matters for days when park reservations are tight, or when a family wants a character meal without burning a park day. It also means a hotel table does not get anyone through the turnstiles. Disneyland Resort park hours still control when the parks themselves open.
Plaza Inn Parade Lunch Opens a Week Later
Plaza Inn, on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, is the in-park holiday dining product. Disney’s dining-package page says A Christmas Fantasy Parade Dining Package runs November 13 through December 30, 2026, with bookings beginning October 8, 2026. Packages start at $61. Tax is extra. Gratuity is not included or required.
Lunch includes a plated meal and a voucher for the day’s second parade performance. Adult entrees listed are chicken, meatloaf, pasta penne, or salmon, plus a holiday dessert and a fountain drink or water. Child plates list chicken tenders or pasta marinara, with applesauce, dessert, and water or low-fat milk. Plant-based options are available on both menus.
The viewing area is separate from the dining room and is mainly standing room or ground seating. Disney says character dining is not offered at Plaza Inn during lunch, dinner, or dining packages. Guests who want table visits should book Goofy’s Kitchen or Storytellers Cafe instead of treating the parade lunch as a character meal.
WDW News Today reported on September 23, 2026, that Disney had posted reservation start dates for those three holiday dining rooms. The independent write-up matches the official restaurant pages on which meals open October 1 and which package waits until October 8.
Park Tickets Split the Three Dining Rooms
Plaza Inn is inside Disneyland Park. Disney’s package page says in-park dining requires a theme park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date for each person ages 3 and older. A dining reservation does not guarantee park entry. Guests must hold both the table and the park reservation before they treat the lunch as booked.
The hotel rooms sit outside the gates. Goofy’s Kitchen is in the Disneyland Hotel. Storytellers Cafe is in the Grand Californian. Those meals can be used on a rest day, an arrival evening, or a morning before a late park entry. They do not replace a park reservation for anyone who still wants the parade lunch the same day.
Holiday overlays elsewhere on property are a separate planning track. Deep Arrival already covered the It’s a Small World holiday conversion window, which is a ride closure and overlay, not a restaurant booking. Dining reservations do not move that ride calendar.
How Reservations Work in the Disneyland App
Disney says advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made on each restaurant page or in the Disneyland app. Same-day tables may exist, but they are limited. For Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe, the entire party must be present before seating, and hosts walk the group to the table together. Seating preference is not guaranteed.
Plaza Inn packages require a credit card at booking. If the party no-shows or fails to cancel under the posted policy, Disney charges a per-person fee on that card. Payment for the meal is due at check-in, which can begin 10 minutes before the reservation time. Each person in the party must buy a package to receive a meal credential and a parade voucher.
Vouchers are valid only for the designated showtime on the same day. They cannot be refunded, sold, or swapped to another date. If two parades are scheduled, the reserved viewing area is for the second show. Magic Key discounts may apply on the Plaza Inn package. Guests should read the confirmation email for the exact cancellation window before they treat a hold as free to drop.
Thanksgiving and Christmas Day Gaps
The Plaza Inn parade package is not sold every day of the holiday window. Disney lists 2026 blockouts of November 25, 26, 29, and 30, plus December 1 through 6, 24, and 25. Thanksgiving week and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are the largest holes. Anyone visiting those dates needs a hotel character meal or another in-park restaurant, not the parade lunch.
The official Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe pages that carry the October 1 window do not list a separate public reservation date for Thanksgiving Day or Christmas plates. Treat those meals as check-back items after the main drop, not as a proven second wave.
Alcohol rules are the same at the hotel buffets: guests must be 21 with government ID, and Disney limits alcohol to two drinks per guest per transaction. That does not change the child-price structure or the auto-gratuity at Goofy’s Kitchen. Parties mixing adults and kids should budget the 18 percent service charge on the pre-discounted total, not only the posted breakfast figure.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Want Goofy or Daisy at the table | Book Goofy’s Kitchen or Storytellers Cafe starting October 1, 2026. |
| Want reserved parade viewing with lunch | Book Plaza Inn on October 8, then secure same-day park tickets. |
| Visit Thanksgiving week or Christmas Day | Skip the Plaza Inn package; those dates are blockouts. |
| Have no park reservation that day | Use a hotel dining room. Plaza Inn will not admit you on a dining hold alone. |
October 1, 2026, is the hotel dining gate. Goofy’s Kitchen and both Storytellers Cafe holiday meals open that morning on Disney’s site and in the Disneyland app.
October 8, 2026, is the parade lunch gate. Plaza Inn packages need a credit card hold plus later park admission and a park reservation.
November 13, 2026, is the first parade-package meal day. Hotel holiday overlays start three days later, on November 16, and run through January 3, 2027.
