Disney Village Access Shifts as Disney Wonders Opens Sept 22

Disneyland Paris said on September 17, 2026, that Disney Village is moving into the next stage of its rebuild, with a dated shop opening this month and a permanent restaurant closure by year-end. In an official newsroom release, the resort set Tuesday, September 22, 2026, as opening day for Disney Wonders, a new boutique, and confirmed that Rainforest Cafe will close permanently by the end of 2026.

That pairing is the trip decision. Guests on property from next week can shop the new store from September 22, while anyone who wants a last Rainforest Cafe meal has only the rest of 2026 to do it. Casa Giulia, a Pathé cinema refit, a Vapiano rebuild, and Annette’s Diner’s return now have public dates through early 2027. Match those dates to Disneyland Paris tickets before you lock hotel nights.

Disney Wonders Opens at Disney Village on September 22

Disney Wonders is the near-term access change. Disneyland Paris said the boutique opens on September 22, 2026, in Disney Village, the dining and shopping district between the parks and the hotels. WDW News Today independently reported the same date and placed the shop alongside Deco by Disney, Disney Glamour, Disney Style, and World of Disney as the current retail set.

The official description is a bright store built around Disney stories rather than a single product line. The facade will carry artworks inspired by Peter Pan, Star Wars, and Toy Story. Inside, two chandeliers will each hold more than 40 Disney and Pixar illustrations, with Marvel and Star Wars light boxes along the path. Two checkout areas, called Magic Moments, use Animation and Pixar art. Jean-David Marque, vice president of merchandise product and operations, said the shop is meant to put the largest franchises into themed rooms. For a September visit, that is a Tuesday opening, not a vague later-this-year window.

Rainforest Cafe Closes Permanently by the End of 2026

The other hard date is a closure. As Disney Village turns from the nearly finished North Block to the South Block, Disneyland Paris said Rainforest Cafe will close permanently by the end of 2026. The company did not publish a final operating day, a replacement concept, or a demolition plan. Until those details arrive, treat year-end 2026 as the last booking window, not as a confirmed December 31 shutdown.

South Block work is due to begin in 2027. The resort released concept art for that side of the street and said Imagineering Paris and operating partners are already on the design, but it did not name the replacement concepts. Independent coverage repeated the Rainforest Cafe end date and did not add a last-service day either. Do not transfer that closure to Casa Giulia, Vapiano, Annette’s Diner, or the cinema. Rainforest Cafe is the only venue the September 17 release said will close for good this year.

Casa Giulia and the Rest of the Dining Calendar

By the end of 2026, Casa Giulia is scheduled to open at the entrance to Disney Village, a short walk from the cinema and the World of Disney shop. Disneyland Paris said Groupe Bertrand, the partner behind Brasserie Rosalie, will operate the two-story family Italian restaurant. The plan is about 260 indoor seats plus an outdoor terrace of 120 seats, with interiors that mix terrazzo, brick, wood, and plants.

Giulia Express is the quick-service annex, with a 40-seat terrace, pizza by the slice, focaccia, pastries, and ice cream. Neither Casa Giulia nor Express has a published opening week, only “by the end of 2026.” Vapiano, in the Village for 10 years, will close from the end of 2026 for a full interior redesign, including a children’s play area upstairs, with completion due in early 2027. Do not assume Vapiano will serve through the winter holidays without a later confirmation.

Annette’s Diner Stays Closed Until Early 2027

Annette’s Diner is already dark. The 1950s-style restaurant, a Disney Village fixture since 1992, has been closed for several months for an extensive refurbishment. Disneyland Paris now says it will reopen in the first quarter of 2027, not during the current fall or Christmas season. That is the access rule for anyone who planned a burger-and-milkshake stop on a 2026 visit.

The rebuild expands the kitchens into the former currency exchange and takeaway space and redesigns the dining room, counter, jukeboxes, and terrace. Ben & Jerry’s remains the presenting partner. Keith Rector of Walt Disney Imagineering Paris said the diner should still feel like Annette’s, only more comfortable. Until the first-quarter 2027 reopen, do not route a 2026 meal plan through that building. Use the current Village kitchens, and later Casa Giulia if it actually opens on the year-end window.

Pathé, Vapiano, and the South Block Timeline

The Pathé cinema, which opened in 1997 as a Gaumont house, will get a 2027-aimed refurbishment: a new Ora-ïto facade, recliner seating, upgraded projection, a larger Pathé Café, a Häagen-Dazs terrace, and a Pathé Games area. Works start in September 2026 in phases so the cinema can remain largely open. Deep Arrival already covered that cinema calendar in the earlier Pathé renovation report; this release is the next dated chapter, not a second cinema story.

Jillian DeKunder, director of operating participants, said Disney Village is being pushed from a path between parks and hotels into a place where guests arrive earlier or stay later. That is why Disneyland Paris park hours now sit next to the Village calendar: a September 22 shop opening only helps if you still have time after rope drop or after park close. North Block work, which began in December 2023 with Brasserie Rosalie, is in its final chapter. The Village stays open. Expect fences and closed doors, not a district shutdown. Christmas overlays arrive from November, including Coca-Cola character snowflakes and extra Sports Bar & Lounge decor.
