Disney Encanto Ride Has No Height Requirement at Animal Kingdom

Disney has revealed the name and the clearest ride details yet for its Encanto attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will have no height requirement, use furniture-inspired ride vehicles, and take guests through the living Casita on Antonio’s gift day.

That no-height-requirement detail is the headline for families. It puts the attraction on track to become a true all-ages anchor for the Tropical Americas land targeted for 2027, although Disney has not announced a specific opening date or explained the final boarding system.

What Disney confirmed about the Encanto ride

In an official Disney Parks Blog update, Disney named the attraction Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto and confirmed that it will not carry a height requirement. That makes the ride different from a thrill attraction that splits a family by age or size before anyone reaches the queue.

The story begins on Antonio’s special day. Guests receive an invitation into the Madrigal family’s magical Casita and board vehicles inspired by furniture from the house.

Disney says those vehicles will move and react as if they are characters themselves. The company has not described the ride system in technical terms, so it is too early to label it a trackless ride or promise a particular style of motion.

The trip will lead upstairs to Antonio’s rainforest room, where more than 50 animals appear. Disney specifically named capybara, a toucan, and a donkey among the creatures guests will encounter.

The creative team worked with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment group to keep the animals accurate to Colombia. That detail matters at Animal Kingdom, where even a fantasy story has to fit a park built around animals, nature, and conservation.

The original Encanto cast is returning

Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow, and Diane Guerrero will reprise Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela for the attraction. Returning voices can help the ride feel like a continuation of the movie instead of a collection of familiar sets with unrelated dialogue.

Disney has not released a complete character list or said whether every member of the Madrigal family will appear. It has also not disclosed whether the songs will be newly recorded, reused, or arranged specifically for the ride.

That leaves room for more announcements without weakening what is already confirmed. Mirabel and her sisters are part of the project, Antonio’s room is a major destination, and Casita is being treated as a character rather than a static backdrop.

Why no height requirement changes the family plan

A no-height-requirement attraction can become one of the easiest rides to place in a mixed-age itinerary. Parents with a baby, a preschooler, and an older child may be able to experience it together instead of using Rider Switch or dividing the group.

That does not mean every guest will be able to board without assistance. Disney has not yet posted transfer, mobility device, sensory, restraint, or service-animal guidance, and those details should be checked when the final attraction page goes live.

It also does not mean the ride will be calm for every child. Casita’s moving furniture, animated rooms, sound, darkness, or a sudden motion could matter to a sensitive rider even without a minimum height.

Antonio’s ride is one piece of a much larger land

Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto is being built inside Tropical Americas, the replacement for DinoLand U.S.A. The land will also include an Indiana Jones attraction, a carousel with 22 Disney characters, one of Walt Disney World’s largest quick-service restaurants, and a play area.

The Encanto ride fills an important role in that mix. Indiana Jones can serve the adventure audience, while Antonio’s story gives younger children and multigenerational families a major experience they can approach together.

It does not prove the vehicle will physically climb stairs, that the scene will appear at that scale, or that every guest will see the same path. Creative teams use concept art to communicate mood and story before every operational detail is locked.

The safest reading is that Casita’s personality will shape the ride and that moving furniture is part of the experience. Claims about track type, drop height, speed, or exact scene order should wait for Disney.

What remains unanswered before 2027

Disney has not named an exact opening day or season. A 2027 target can cover a wide range, and construction, testing, inspections, and cast training can move the practical date.

The company has also not disclosed the ride’s hourly capacity, duration, queue design, virtual queue status, or Lightning Lane availability. Those details will determine whether the attraction is easy to experience or immediately becomes one of the park’s hardest reservations.
