Pagoda style rooftops and a Ferris wheel at Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures in south west London opens Howl’o’ween on Saturday 3 October 2026, with day tickets from £34 per person online against £66 at the gate. The resort lists the dates, shows and prices on its official Howl’o’ween page, and says one ticket covers the theme park, the zoo, SEA LIFE and the Halloween activities.

That gap between the online and walk-up price is the single biggest saving on the day, so book before you travel. For rides, heights and layout, see our Chessington World of Adventures guide.

  • Tickets: from £34 per person online; £66 walk-up.
  • Included: theme park, zoo, SEA LIFE and Howl’o’ween activities.

Dates and Opening Days

Howl’o’ween opens with two weekends: Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, then Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October. It returns on Saturday 17 October and runs every listed day through to Sunday 1 November.

The long final run covers the late October half term for many schools in England. The first two weekends are the likely quieter choice, while half term days and the final weekend are likely to be the busiest.

Opening hours change through the autumn, so check the resort’s calendar for your date. Our Chessington park hours page explains how the seasonal schedule works.

Online Price Versus Walk-Up

The resort lists Howl’o’ween day tickets from £34 per person when bought online. The walk-up price is £66, At the lowest online price, a family of four would pay £128 more at the gate than a family that booked ahead.

Online prices are “from” amounts and are likely to rise on half term and weekend dates. Compare a few days on the booking calendar before you commit, and remember that children under 90 cm visit free.

Enchanted Hollow is the one Halloween add-on the page prices separately, from £9 per person. The resort describes cosy burrows and winding tunnels where children knock on each door for a trick or treat.

Decision Matrix
If you are… Plan for
Watching the budget Book online from £34; the gate price is £66.
Avoiding the biggest crowds 3 to 4 or 10 to 11 October.
Tied to school holidays 17 October to 1 November; book early.
With young children Enchanted Hollow from £9 and the Halloween Pups.
Travelling from further away A short break from £74 per person.

Shows and the Stone Watchers Scare Zone

Three shows run during the event: Dr Frankenfun’s Haunted House Party, Rising Flame: Shadows of the Tomb and Barnyard Boogie. UK attractions site Theme Parks UK lists the same 2026 dates and marks Dr Frankenfun’s Haunted House Party as new for 2026.

The scare zone is Stone Watchers: Vampire’s Lair, where the resort says a statue comes to life once guests cross the line. Theme Parks UK describes it as a zone of animated statues and gargoyles.

The Howl’o’ween page does not give an age guide for the scare zone, so judge it by your own children. The shows and Enchanted Hollow are aimed at a younger crowd.

Rides at Dusk and the Halloween Pups

Rides at Dusk is the event’s evening draw. The resort names Mandrill Mayhem, Room on the Broom and Vampire among the rides you can take as it gets dark.

New this year, the resort’s all new World of PAW Patrol land hosts Meet the Halloween Pups, with Marshall and Skye in Halloween costumes. For preschool fans, plan that meet and greet for earlier in the day, before the evening rides.

Because the evening rides are the highlight for older children, stay until dusk if you can, and check the closing time for your date before you plan the journey home.

Short Breaks and Getting There

Short breaks start from £74 per person and include an overnight stay and breakfast, the resort says. That can suit families who want Rides at Dusk without a long drive home in the dark.

Chessington sits on the A243 on the edge of south west London, close to the M25. Chessington South station is a short walk away, which makes the train a useful option on busy half term days.

Bring layers for the evening, since October temperatures drop quickly once the sun goes down and the dusk rides run into the dark.
