Cathay Pacific is running four discount codes on round trip fares from seven United States gateways, worth 80 to 188 dollars a ticket, and its 80 Years Together offer page sets the booking deadline at September 22, 2026. Two of the four codes are capped at 80 tickets each.
That cap, not the calendar, is the real deadline. Cathay flies to about nine North American cities and more than 100 weekly nonstop return flights to Hong Kong, as our Cathay Pacific airline guide sets out, so 80 business class tickets across that network is a very small pool.
- Book by: September 22, 2026, with the offer page showing an end date of September 23.
- Travel window: September 10 through December 10, 2026.
- Biggest discount: 188 dollars off business class, limited to the first 80 tickets issued.
- Departure cities: SFO, LAX, ORD, BOS, JFK, SEA and DFW only.
The Four Codes and What Each One Is Worth
The codes are not interchangeable, and picking the wrong one wastes the better discount. CX80HKUS takes 80 dollars off a ticket to Hong Kong itself, in economy, premium economy or business, and is limited to the first 950 tickets issued.
CX80US takes 88 dollars off a ticket to every Cathay destination except Hong Kong, across the same three cabins, with a larger allocation of 2,200 tickets. That is the code most travellers connecting beyond Hong Kong will want.
The two cabin specific codes are where the money is and where the scarcity bites. CX80USPEY takes 168 dollars off a premium economy ticket and CX80USBUS takes 188 dollars off business class, each capped at the first 80 tickets issued.
Why 80 Tickets Is the Number That Matters
Cathay states that a code “will cease to be valid once the respective allocation has been fully redeemed”, which means the September 22 date is an outer limit rather than a promise. A code can stop working days early with no announcement.
There is already evidence of that happening. The Gate reported on September 7 that the premium economy code had sold out, and Cathay does not publish live remaining inventory, so there is no way to check a balance before you try a code at checkout.
Check the Deadline Rather Than Trusting a Republished One
The booking deadline has moved since the promotion was first written up. The Gate reported a deadline of 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific on September 16, while Cathay’s own United States page now reads September 22.
Deal aggregators are still circulating the earlier date, and at least one lists September 15. Treat the airline’s own offer page as the only reliable source for the closing date on a promotion that has already shifted once.
A Flat Discount Behaves Differently in Each Cabin
Every one of these codes is a fixed dollar amount rather than a percentage, so its real value falls as the fare rises. In economy, 88 dollars can be a meaningful slice of a transpacific round trip.
In business class, 188 dollars comes off a fare that is usually several thousand dollars, so the headline number is the largest discount on offer and the smallest one in proportional terms. That is worth knowing before you restructure a trip around it.
Conditions That Disqualify a Booking
The promotion is valid for round trip bookings only and cannot be used on one way tickets, and the codes cannot be combined with any other coupon, offer, discount or promotion.
The Gate also reported that open-jaw itineraries, stopovers, multi-city bookings and packages are excluded, that the mobile app is not an eligible channel, and that Asia Miles membership is required. Cathay’s page likewise notes the offer cannot be used through the mobile app.
| If you… | What to do |
|---|---|
| Want business class and the 188 dollar code | Book now rather than at the deadline, because only 80 tickets carry that code. |
| Are flying to Hong Kong itself | Use CX80HKUS for 80 dollars off, not CX80US, which excludes Hong Kong. |
| Are connecting beyond Hong Kong | Use CX80US for 88 dollars off, from the larger 2,200 ticket allocation. |
| Live outside the seven listed gateways | The codes do not apply; price a positioning trip separately rather than assuming it is covered. |
| Read a September 15 or September 16 deadline elsewhere | Check the Cathay offer page before booking, because the airline’s own date now reads September 22. |
The 80 ticket caps are the first gate. Premium economy already sold out once, so treat the cabin specific codes as available today rather than reserved for you.
September 22 is the booking gate. The offer page also shows an end date of September 23, so do not leave it to the final hours.
December 10 is the travel gate. Any itinerary that returns after that date falls outside the promotion window.
What is the actual booking deadline?
Cathay Pacific’s United States offer page states the codes are valid for bookings made by September 22, 2026, and shows an offer end date of September 23.
Which code gives the biggest discount?
CX80USBUS, at 188 dollars off a business class ticket, but it is limited to the first 80 tickets issued.
Can I use a code from any US airport?
No. The offer covers departures from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York JFK, Seattle and Dallas Fort Worth only.
Does the discount work on one way tickets?
No. Cathay states the promotion is valid for round trip bookings only and cannot be used on one way fares.
How do I know whether a code is still available?
You cannot check in advance. Cathay does not publish remaining inventory, and a code stops working once its allocation is fully redeemed.
Can I stack a code with another Cathay offer?
No. The terms state the codes may not be used in conjunction with any other coupon, offer, discount or promotion.
