Azamara Quest Adds Penthouse Deck for December 18 Debut

Azamara has locked the first public timeline for Azamara Forward on Azamara Quest: dry dock in Athens on October 31, 2026, a return to service on November 26, and an exclusive new Penthouse Deck ready for guests on the December 18, 2026 Miami sailing.

If you are shopping Quest for late 2026 or early 2027, the traveler decision is whether you want the pre-refit ship, a post-refit sailing before the new top-deck suites, or the December 18 Miami debut that introduces two suite categories only Quest will carry.

The official Quest calendar

According to Azamara’s official Forward page, Quest enters dry dock in Athens on October 31, 2026, right after finishing a seven-night cruise. The work is scheduled for 26 days at the Onex Elefsis shipyard in Piraeus, with cruises resuming November 26, 2026.

Azamara states that shipwide enhancements will be complete when service resumes on November 26. The new Penthouse Suite Deck, however, is available for sailing only beginning with the December 18, 2026 cruise departing from Miami.

That split matters for booking. A guest on the first sailings after November 26 gets the refreshed staterooms, dining, and public rooms, but not the brand-new top-deck suite inventory until the December 18 Miami departure.

Azamara frames Quest as the natural first ship because she hosts the 2027 World Cruise. Later ships receive the fleetwide package on their own dry-dock calendars, with Onward listed next for 2027 and Journey and Pursuit dates still to come.

What the new Penthouse Deck actually adds

The Penthouse Deck is exclusive to Azamara Quest under the current program. Azamara is building a new Deck 11 forward for twelve suites, then recreating the open-air Sun Deck above as Deck 12.

Two Panorama Suites are the flagship category. Official dimensions list about 656 square feet inside plus a roughly 64-square-foot veranda, with separate living and dining areas, a master bedroom, a spa-style bathroom, and 270-degree views.

Ten Grandview Suites fill the rest of the new deck. Azamara lists about 243 square feet inside plus a roughly 60-square-foot veranda, with floor-to-ceiling glass, a seating area, and expanded bathrooms with dual sinks and walk-in showers.

Panorama Suites can sleep up to four guests. Grandview Suites sleep two. Azamara also publishes loyalty points at 18 points per night for Panorama and 10 points per night for Grandview.

For suite shoppers, those categories are the real product change. Fleetwide soft-goods upgrades improve every cabin, but only Quest gets this new top-deck inventory.

Bath design also signals the product shift. Azamara says the new Panorama and Grandview bathrooms use walk-in showers with benches rather than tubs, following guest preference for open, accessible shower layouts.

Fleetwide changes that still affect every guest

Azamara Forward is not only a suite story. Across all four ships, the program refreshes stateroom finishes, spa spaces, the Cabaret Lounge, public restrooms, and core dining and bar venues.

Discoveries Restaurant is being redesigned with new furnishings and lighting. Atlas Bar expands fleetwide into the space outside Discoveries, keeping destination-inspired cocktails and adding complimentary beverage service in that concept as it rolls out.

Chef’s Table moves from a pop-up format into a permanent dedicated venue on Quest first. Azamara says that change supports more private menus, guest chefs, and market-style dining tied to ports.
