Asiana Opens Daily Kobe Flights From Seoul Incheon

Asiana Airlines has opened daily flights between Seoul Incheon and Kobe, adding another airport choice for travel between South Korea and Japan’s Kansai region. The service launched September 1, 2026, with an afternoon arrival in Kobe and a return flight that reaches Incheon in the early evening.

There is also a near term booking deadline: Asiana’s Japanese launch offer runs through September 17 for eligible journeys starting in Kobe. That offer should not be confused with a sale on every flight in both directions, or with the route’s operating period.

Use our airline planning hub for broader flight comparisons. For this new service, the useful comparison is the exact airport, departure time and fare conditions: Kobe, airport code UKB, is a different gateway from Kansai International, KIX.

At a Glance
  • Launch: September 1, 2026.
  • Frequency: Daily in both directions.
  • Airports: Seoul Incheon, ICN, and Kobe, UKB.
  • Aircraft announced: Airbus A321neo.
  • Launch offer: Eligible Kobe origin purchases through September 17.

The New Daily Schedule Uses Kobe Airport

Aju Press reported the September 1 launch, identifying the daily A321neo operation and the additional choice it gives travelers visiting the Kansai region. Kobe Airport sits on an artificial island in Osaka Bay; it is not another name for Kansai International.

Asiana’s official Japanese route announcement lists OZ1163 leaving Incheon at noon and reaching Kobe at 14:00 through October 24. In the other direction, OZ1153 leaves Kobe at 15:00 and arrives in Incheon at 17:00.

That schedule can support a Kobe stay without selecting Kansai International simply because it is the more familiar airport name. It does not mean Kobe is automatically the best airport for every Osaka or Kyoto itinerary. Compare the ground journey to your actual accommodation before choosing.

A Small October Change Matters for the Departure

From October 25, the published Incheon departure moves five minutes earlier, to 11:55, while the Kobe arrival remains 14:00. The Kobe to Incheon flight stays at 15:00 to 17:00 in the airline’s winter table.

The announcement shows that winter timetable through March 27, 2027. That is the end of the displayed schedule period, not evidence that the route is scheduled to close the following day. Travelers looking further ahead need a current dated flight result.

A trip spanning October 25 should therefore be checked leg by leg. The change is small, but using an old screenshot of the summer timetable is less reliable than checking the departure recorded in the booking. Do not turn a published arrival time into a promise that baggage collection or onward travel will be complete then.

The September 17 Fare Deadline Has Limits

The official launch offer covers purchases from September 1 through September 17 and departures from September 1 through December 10, 2026. It applies to eligible one way or roundtrip travel starting in Kobe for Seoul, with Economy booking classes V and T identified in the conditions.

The advertised starting price is JPY 12,700 one way. Asiana says the fuel surcharge is included but other taxes are additional. It is not an advertised JPY 12,700 roundtrip total, and the page does not make that starting price available for every departure.

If you are beginning in Incheon, do not carry the Kobe origin promotion over to your own search. Compare the price actually returned for the correct direction and dates. The new flight can still be useful even where the launch offer does not apply.

The notice also directs passengers to the applicable fare rules for changes and refunds. Check those rules and the ticket’s baggage allowance before paying; the launch price alone does not establish the complete cost or flexibility of a booking.

Choose the Gateway Before Arranging the Rest of the Trip

For a traveler staying in Kobe, the new direct flight creates a route worth comparing with an arrival elsewhere in Kansai. Aju Press highlights Kobe and nearby regional attractions, but the flight announcement does not provide a guaranteed airport to hotel transfer time.

For a wider Japan itinerary, check both the arrival airport and the return airport before arranging accommodation or transport. A booking into UKB and out of KIX is a different ground plan from using Kobe in both directions, even if a search labels both options as serving the Osaka region.

Decision Matrix
Your plan Check before booking
Stay in Kobe Compare UKB access with the complete alternative via KIX.
Depart Incheon after October 24 Use the 11:55 winter departure in the published table.
Use the launch offer Check Kobe origin, sale deadline, travel dates and additional taxes.
Connect at Incheon Check the complete itinerary and its connection conditions.
Planning Impact

This week: September 17 is the advertised launch offer purchase deadline, not the route’s last operating day.

Autumn travel: Confirm the airport code and seasonal departure time before arranging the ground journey.
