Air Tahiti Nui will fly its Paris to Los Angeles to Papeete route every day from mid-June to the end of October 2027, the airline’s chief executive Lionel Guérin said at the IFTM Top Resa travel trade show in Paris. The extra frequencies are already on sale through travel agency booking systems, according to French trade reports published on September 21, 2026.
For travelers, the change matters most for next summer, the busiest season for trips to French Polynesia. A daily service means more choice of travel days between Europe, California and Tahiti, and it runs through Los Angeles, the carrier’s long-standing US stop. The airline also used the event to set out cabin upgrades, a new Sydney route and future Wi-Fi.

- Route: Paris Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles to Papeete.
- Change: a daily flight from mid-June to the end of October 2027.
- Booking: already on sale through travel agency systems, per TourMaG.
- Also coming: Papeete to Sydney twice weekly from December 14, 2026.
- Later: new seats in every cabin from late 2028, plus Starlink Wi-Fi in 2028.
Daily Flights Through Los Angeles in Summer 2027
TourMaG, the French travel trade site, reported the plan on September 21, quoting the airline’s announcement of a daily flight from mid-June to the end of October 2027 and noting that the new frequencies are already bookable in the global distribution systems that travel agents use. The report did not give the current weekly frequency or the exact start and end dates.
L’Echo touristique, which interviewed Guérin at the same show, listed the move to daily service to Paris among the airline’s main projects, alongside the Sydney launch and cabin renovation. It reported him saying this year’s operating result remains in deficit but will be better than 2025.
Because the Paris service stops in Los Angeles, the extra flights also pass through LAX. Travelers starting in the United States should check whether the added days are sold on the Los Angeles to Papeete leg for their dates, since availability on a through flight can differ by segment.
Several details are still missing. Air Tahiti Nui has not published the exact first and last dates of the daily pattern, fares for the added flights or how the schedule changes outside that window. Expect those details to appear as the flights load on the airline’s own booking site, and compare prices on nearby days once they do.
Cabins, Sydney and Wi-Fi Plans
Some improvements are already on board. According to TourMaG, Moana Economy passengers now receive new, more eco-friendly comfort kits, and Poerava Business seats have new mattress overlays. A full renovation of the carrier’s Boeing 787 cabins, with new seats in all classes, is planned from late 2028, and high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi is also announced for 2028.
The Sydney route is not new news. Air Tahiti Nui first announced twice weekly flights between Papeete and Sydney in March, and TourMaG gives December 14, 2026 as the launch date. On Tokyo, TourMaG lists Narita flights in July and August 2027, while L’Echo touristique describes plans to run Tokyo all year, so check the schedule before relying on either.
How to Plan a Summer 2027 Tahiti Trip
If you are flexible on dates, the daily schedule should make it easier to match flights to resort availability, cruise departures or inter-island connections. It is still worth booking early for July and August, when demand from Europe peaks, and comparing Air Tahiti Nui with other carriers that fly to Papeete from the US West Coast.
Many visitors spend a night on the main island before or after their flight. Our guide to things to do in Papeete covers how to use a day in Tahiti’s capital.
