The Ocean Key Resort Virginia Beach Website: Suite & Parking Guide

The Quiet South End Advantage near Grommet Island

An expert review of the Ocean Key Resort Virginia Beach website highlights the resort's highly desirable location on the quiet southern tip of Atlantic Avenue. Situated at 424 Atlantic Avenue, the resort sits far away from the noisy, congested center of the primary tourist boardwalk, offering a relaxed environment that is ideal for families and mature travelers. For an extensive directory of top Florida, California, and East Coast amusement destinations, character meals, and family hotels, travelers can check our detailed Deep Arrival theme parks directory to plan their next coastal adventure. Guests are positioned directly adjacent to JT's Grommet Island Beach Park, an exceptional, fully accessible public oceanfront park equipped with wheelchair friendly playground structures. The property is also under a five minute walk from the active Rudee Inlet marina, where travelers can book dolphin watching boat tours, rent jet skis, or dine at waterfront seafood restaurants.

Residential Style Suites with Fully Equipped Kitchens

Unlike standard, cramped hotel rooms along the boardwalk, the Ocean Key Resort specializes in spacious timeshare style suites designed for extended family vacations. The resort's 142 accommodations are divided into one bedroom and two bedroom suites, each featuring a completely separate living room with a pull out sleeper sofa, multiple flat screen televisions, and a dining table. The standout competitive moat of these suites is the presence of a full sized, fully equipped kitchen. Stocked with a standard stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker, cookware, dinnerware, and drinking glasses, these kitchens allow families to prepare home cooked meals easily, drastically reducing the overall cost of a Virginia Beach vacation.

On Site Conveniences and Free Covered Garage Parking

A major economic advantage of booking this property is the inclusion of free covered parking inside the resort's on site parking garage. Many competitor beachfront resorts in Virginia Beach charge high daily valet fees, making free parking a massive cost saving perk for road trippers. Beyond parking, the resort features a fully enclosed, heated indoor swimming pool and a hot tub, providing a comfortable year round swimming option regardless of weather conditions. Active guests can utilize the on site fitness center, while the ground level Roma Pizza restaurant serves up delicious Italian pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, and subs for lunch and dinner, with easy carry out options for poolside dining.

Key Booking Tips and What the Reviews Leave Out

When planning a stay via the Ocean Key Resort Virginia Beach website, travelers should remain alert to several key structural details. Because the resort is located on the landward side of Atlantic Avenue rather than directly on the sand, standard rooms do not feature unobstructed ocean views. To secure a partial ocean view, guests must request specific high floor rooms facing east. Additionally, while the suites provide incredible space, the building is a historic timeshare property that exhibits typical coastal wear, with some reviews pointing out slow elevators and dated hallway carpets. Booking directly through official resort networks is highly recommended, as it guarantees access to on site maintenance support and the VSA Resorts guest loyalty programs.
