Carnival Cruise WiFi and Internet

Cruise WiFi and Internet Guide

Carnival Cruise WiFi and Internet

Carnival sells onboard internet as three per-person, per-day plans, and there is no free ship-wide WiFi. Here is what each plan costs in 2026, what it can actually do, how cellular at sea fits in, and how to pay the least.

3 plansFrom about $20.40 a dayPer person, per dayPremium streams on Starlink

The short answer

About $20.40 to $25.50 per person, per day

Three plans, no free ship-wide WiFi. A four-device Premium option runs about $90 a day. Prices rose in late 2025, so confirm the live rate at booking.

Carnival WiFi plans and prices

The three standard plans allow one active device at a time, with device switching permitted. The Premium Multi-Device option covers up to four simultaneous devices. Pick the lowest tier that covers what you actually do online, since the jump from Social to Premium is mostly about streaming and speed.

Speed and streaming

What you can actually do online

Premium supports video streaming; Carnival also lists FaceTime access with Value. Premium runs up to three times faster than Value, and rides Carnival’s newer Starlink satellite coverage. Social and Value are for messaging, social, email, and light browsing.

Real speed at sea still depends on your location, how many guests are online, and the weather, so even Premium can slow down on remote or busy stretches. Treat streaming as a nice-to-have at sea, not a guarantee.

Free options

Does Carnival have free WiFi?

No, there is no free ship-wide internet on Carnival. What is free is the Carnival HUB app, which works on the ship network without a WiFi plan for the daily schedule, deck maps, and your account. The HUB app chat feature is a small flat fee for the whole voyage, not the same as a full WiFi plan. Loyalty tiers and promotions can include WiFi minutes or discounts, so check your offer before paying full price.

Cellular and your phone

Using your cell phone at sea

People search for cruise “internet,” “cellular,” and “data” as much as “WiFi,” and they are not the same thing. Carnival ships carry a Cellular at Sea maritime network, so your phone may show signal far from shore, but that connects through your own mobile carrier at its cruise or international roaming rates, which can be steep. To avoid surprise charges, keep your phone in airplane mode and use a Carnival WiFi plan instead, then check your carrier’s cruise package if you truly need cellular.

Buying and saving

How to connect, and how to pay less

  • Buy before you sail. Pre-cruise prices are usually lower than the onboard rate.
  • Match the plan to the person who needs it. Choose Premium Multi-Device only if you need several devices connected at once; a standard plan allows switching between devices.
  • Use HUB chat for onboard group messages if that is all you need; Carnival charges $5 USD per user for the voyage.
  • Download maps, music, and shows before you board so you do not pay for streaming you could have cached.
  • Connect by joining the ship WiFi network, then open the landing page or the HUB app and sign in with your folio.

By ship

Carnival WiFi by ship

Carnival’s WiFi plans are fleet-wide, so the same three tiers apply on every ship. Carnival Corporation completed its fleet-wide Starlink installation in May 2024; ship age alone does not determine whether it is installed. See the details on the ship you are sailing:

Cruise lines do not cover medical evacuation. EKTA travel insurance covers it from about 1 dollar a day.

Carnival WiFi and internet questions

How much is WiFi on a Carnival cruise?

In 2026, Carnival’s Social plan starts around $20.40 per person per day, Value around $23.80, and Premium around $25.50, with a four-device Premium option near $90 a day. Prices rose in late 2025 and vary by sailing, so confirm the live rate at booking.

Does Carnival have free WiFi?

No, there is no free ship-wide WiFi. The Carnival HUB app is free to use on the ship network for the schedule, maps, and account, and its chat feature is a small flat fee for the voyage.

Is internet the same as WiFi on a cruise?

On Carnival they are effectively the same purchase. The plans give you internet over the ship WiFi network. Cellular is separate: that runs through your phone carrier at sea, not through Carnival’s WiFi plan.

Can I use my cell phone on a Carnival cruise?

Yes, ships have a Cellular at Sea network so your phone can get signal, but it bills through your own carrier at cruise or international roaming rates. Most guests keep the phone in airplane mode and use a Carnival WiFi plan instead, or add their carrier’s cruise package.

Can you stream video on Carnival WiFi?

Video streaming is supported on Premium, which offers speeds up to three times faster than Value. Carnival also lists FaceTime with Value; carrier Wi-Fi calling is not supported. Speed still varies with location and ship traffic.

Is Carnival WiFi per person or per device?

A standard plan allows one device online at a time; you can switch devices. Premium Multi-Device allows up to four simultaneous devices and is sold before sailing.

How can I save on Carnival WiFi?

Buy pre-cruise rather than onboard, size the plan to the person who needs it, consider the $5 USD-per-user HUB chat option for onboard messaging, and download entertainment before you sail.
