The official word

Straight from the source

“However you are free to bring non-perishable prepackaged food in limited quantities.”

Royal Caribbean food and drink policy, July 2026

Before you board

Three calls that matter

Sealed snacks, not takeout

Outside food means factory-packaged, non-perishable snacks, not restaurant leftovers or home cooking. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Virgin allow it in reasonable amounts.

Carry-on, keep it modest

Pack sealed packages in your carry-on and stick to limited, reasonable quantities. Do not count on ship refrigeration for personal food.

Dining is included

Buffets, restaurants, and room service are already part of your fare, so outside food is rarely needed. Some lines allow baby food and dietary exceptions.

Sailing tip: a few sealed snacks are handy for port days and long excursions; leave the home-cooked meals and anything perishable behind. More in our cruise guides.
