What it is
A premium, landside arrivals lounge at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, operated by United Airlines and shared with Star Alliance partner Air Canada.
Best for
Arriving Polaris business class flyers who want a high-pressure hot shower, a full English breakfast, and professional garment pressing before heading into London.
Think twice if
Do not assume Economy travel, standard Star Alliance Gold or a United Club membership qualifies. Air Canada separately grants qualifying Aeroplan Super Elite arrivals access, so check the actual airline and status benefit.

The planning sequence
Use the sequence below to decide how this should shape the trip.
On the ground
Premium Location Outside Security at Terminal 2
Unlike standard airline lounges that sit near the departure gates, the United Airlines Arrivals Lounge at Heathrow is positioned landside, meaning it is outside security. Located on Level 1 of London Heathrow's Terminal 2, also known as the Queen's Terminal, the lounge entrance is situated immediately after you exit the baggage claim and customs hall. This layout is highly convenient, allowing travelers arriving on overnight transatlantic flights to transition directly from customs into a peaceful premium environment without having to navigate to an airport hotel or travel into central London first. Because of its landside location, the lounge serves as the perfect intermediate stop to unpack, freshen up, and prepare for morning business meetings.
Spacious Shower Suites and Valet Garment Pressing
The highlight of the arrivals lounge experience is its lineup of 17 individual private shower suites. Each spacious suite is finished in premium marble and tile, featuring a high-pressure rain showerhead, plenty of clean towels, and luxury toiletries. To prevent steam buildup, the bathrooms are engineered with heated anti-fog mirrors and powerful ventilation systems. A standout feature of the suite design is the two-door valet closet. Before starting your shower, you can place your travel-creased suit jacket, shirt, or trousers into the valet compartment. A valet attendant accesses the closet from the hallway side, steams or presses your garment, and returns it crisp and wrinkle-free by the time you finish bathing.
Hot English Breakfast and A-la-Carte Dining
After refreshing in the shower, guests can dine in the quiet cafe seating area, which accommodates up to 40 travelers. The lounge serves a high-quality breakfast designed to replace the often lackluster second meal served before landing on transatlantic flights. The dining setup includes a hot buffet featuring a traditional English breakfast of scrambled eggs, back bacon, sausage, baked beans, and grilled tomatoes. This is complemented by a cold spread of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and smoothies. Additionally, passengers can order freshly prepared hot dishes from an a-la-carte menu, which includes custom omelets, oatmeal porridge, and berry-topped French toast, accompanied by barista-made coffee and espresso.
Arrivals Access: Cabin Rules and the Super Elite Exception
Understanding the specific eligibility rules is critical, as access to this arrivals facility is much more restricted than standard United Clubs. Eligibility includes arriving United Polaris passengers and Air Canada international Business Class passengers. Air Canada also lists Aeroplan Super Elite access: the member and one guest must arrive the same day on Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge, subject to space availability; minors must be accompanied by an adult. A common planning trap is treating every elite tier as equivalent: the Aeroplan Super Elite benefit is separate from ordinary Star Alliance Gold access. Standard Star Alliance Gold status, United Premier Gold, Platinum, and 1K status, and United Club memberships do not provide access if you are traveling in Economy or Premium Plus. Because the lounge is landside and operates on a contract model, these strict access rules are rigidly enforced by the front desk agents.
