Is Condor Right for You?
Condor Baggage at a Glance
Condor sells graded fares, and the cheapest Economy fare includes hand baggage only with no checked bag. Higher Economy fares add a checked bag and seat selection, Premium Economy includes more, and Business carries the most generous allowance. Checked bags, seat selection, and some extras are bundled differently by fare, so the lowest price can rise once you add them. Compare the fare tiers before paying at the airport.
For the full breakdown of fees, overweight and oversize charges, carry-on sizing, and the complete fare-by-fare allowance table, see the Condor Baggage Fees Guide.
Three Cabins, No First Class
Condor sells three cabins on its long-haul Airbus A330neo: Economy, Premium Economy, and Business. There is no first class. Business is the standout, with fully lie-flat seats in a staggered 1-2-1 layout and an upgraded Prime Seat tier in row 1. Premium Economy is a value step up that adds legroom and perks rather than a wider seat. The whole long-haul fleet now flies this single, modern A330neo product.
Modern leisure economy with 4K screens
Economy on the A330neo seats 216 in a 2-4-2 layout with about 30 inches of pitch, 4K seatback screens, USB power, and a meal included on long-haul routes. Fares are graded, and the cheapest is hand baggage only, with checked bags and seat selection added by fare. Condor is a leisure carrier rather than an ultra low cost airline, so the cabin is functional and comfortable for a transatlantic crossing.
More legroom, the same seat width
Condor Premium Economy is unusual. It adds legroom, extra recline, a socket, added baggage, and an upgraded meal, but the seat is the same width as Economy, and the cabin blends into the Economy section without a separate wall. It is a modest, value priced step up rather than a separate premium cabin with a wider seat. For a meaningfully better seat, the lie-flat Business fare or an Alaska award is often the stronger choice.
Lie-flat 1-2-1, with Prime Seats in row 1
Business on the A330neo uses the Safran Skylounge Core seat in a staggered 1-2-1 layout, so every passenger has direct aisle access and a fully lie-flat bed with a mattress pad and comforter. The four Prime Seats in row 1 add an open ottoman, a companion seat, pyjamas, a larger 23.6 inch screen, and an enhanced amenity kit for a paid upgrade of roughly 200 to 360 USD. Reviewers regularly rate this cabin level with or above legacy carriers at much lower prices. Condor has no lounge of its own, so Business uses the Lufthansa lounge at Frankfurt.

No Program of Its Own, but Partner Miles Work Well
Condor has no frequent flyer program of its own and belongs to no alliance. US travelers earn and redeem through partner programs, led by Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, the program formerly called Mileage Plan, with JetBlue TrueBlue and Emirates Skywards also able to book Condor. Award space is often wide open in advance, and the Business redemption through Alaska is widely considered one of the better value ways to cross the Atlantic in a lie-flat seat.
There is no Condor co-brand credit card, but you can route US credit card points to a partner and then book. Bilt and Marriott transfer to Alaska Atmos Rewards, while Emirates Skywards accepts American Express, Capital One, Citi, and Bilt, and JetBlue TrueBlue accepts American Express, Chase, and Citi. You also earn miles on paid Condor flights, credited to Alaska Atmos Rewards at roughly 25 to 75 percent of distance in Economy, 125 percent in Premium Economy, and 200 percent in Business. When redeeming, confirm your flight is the A330neo, since that is the lie-flat Business product.
One Frankfurt Hub and a Seasonal US Map
Condor runs a single hub at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Every long-haul route operates through Frankfurt, where Condor connects to more than 90 leisure destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, North and West Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond. Because Condor mainly carries vacation travelers, a large share of its US routes run only in the summer season rather than all year.
Four cities all year, plus summer
Condor flies nonstop to Frankfurt all year from New York JFK, Boston, Miami, and Seattle. A wider seasonal network adds Baltimore, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, and San Francisco, mostly in the summer travel season. The Alaska Airlines codeshare links many more US cities to these gateways, so you can connect from a home airport to a Condor departure point.
A vacation network across three continents
From Frankfurt, Condor reaches more than 90 destinations built around leisure travel, including the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, North and West Africa, the Caribbean and Mexico, and select long-haul beach and city destinations. Onward low cost and rail connections from Frankfurt are easy to add. Condor is independent rather than part of an alliance, but its partners extend reach for booking and earning miles.
Common Condor Booking Mistakes
Condor Airlines Questions
Is Condor a good airline?
For the price, yes, especially in Business. Condor is a German leisure carrier, and its Airbus A330neo Business cabin is fully lie-flat in a 1-2-1 layout that many reviewers rate level with or above legacy carriers at much lower fares. Meals are included in all cabins on long-haul routes. The trade-offs are that Condor has no alliance and no lounges of its own, many US routes are seasonal, and bags and seat selection are priced by fare, so the cheapest ticket can climb.
Is Condor Airlines safe?
Yes. Condor is an established German airline that has been flying since 1956 and operates under European Union and German aviation safety regulation. Its entire long-haul fleet is the brand new Airbus A330-900neo, delivered since 2022, and its short and medium haul fleet is being renewed with new Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. By any standard measure it is a mainstream, regulated carrier with a modern fleet.
What is Condor Airlines and who owns it?
Condor, legally Condor Flugdienst GmbH, is a German leisure airline based near Frankfurt and flying since 1956, with the IATA code DE. It is independent and not part of any alliance. Since 2021 it has been owned by the investment firm Attestor Capital, which holds 51 percent, with the remaining 49 percent held for the German Federal Government and the State of Hesse. Condor was previously part of the Thomas Cook group, which collapsed in 2019.

Condor operates three cabins on its long-haul Airbus A330neo: Economy, Premium Economy, and Business. There is no first class. Business is fully lie-flat in a staggered 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access, and the four Prime Seats in row 1 add an ottoman, a companion seat, and pyjamas for a paid upgrade. Premium Economy adds legroom and perks but uses the same seat width as Economy. Confirm the seat map before booking a premium cabin.
How do I book Condor with points?
Condor has no program of its own, so US travelers use partner programs. Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, formerly Mileage Plan, is the main option, with one-way awards to Frankfurt from about 40,000 miles in Economy, 45,000 in Premium Economy, and 55,000 in Business. JetBlue TrueBlue and Emirates Skywards can also book Condor. To use bank points, transfer to a partner first, for example Bilt or Marriott to Alaska, then redeem for the Condor flight.
