TSA Rules · Updated October 4, 2026
Can You Bring an RC Car on a Plane?
Yes. Remote-control cars fly in carry-on and checked bags. The catch is the battery: a lithium or LiPo pack belongs in the cabin, and spare packs are carry-on only with the terminals protected.

Before the checkpoint
Three calls that matter
No. The car and controller pass screening. Only loose LiPo packs need care, and nitro fuel is confiscated.
Either bag for the car. Carry lithium and LiPo packs in the cabin so they are monitored in flight.
Tape LiPo terminals or use a fireproof charging bag. A pack installed in the car may be checked; loose spares may not.
